I have a question: Why doesn't Alex Ross draw every single comic book out there? Every single one of them!
Iron Man on the cover isn't wearing the right armor though.
Because, as pretty as his artwork is, it feels too much like a painting. His interiors lack energy and dynamism. There's not a strong sense of motion, everything is just captured as a still image and it's hard to really 'feel' the movements of the characters. He's best sticking to cover art.
I felt really disappointed by this issue, we really didn't learn much of anything from that flashback and it sort of meandered forward doing very little. I was REALLY hoping we'd find out how Hal GOT HIS NEW SHIP THAT HAS AN ATTITUDE! THAT'S THE FLASHBACK WE NEEDED!
It's especially weird since the last 3 Annuals have been ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL major issues in their respective story arcs.
