I Think I Might Be a Curse

Whenever I really REALLY like a comic it seems to get cancelled. Or at least in 2011 it seems to be the case.

Azrael and Streets of Gotham were among my favorite of my favorites comic series and they both got cancelled in one fell swoop. Hell, I adored Batman Confidential for just one issue and it got cancelled at the same time. Now Outsiders is getting the axe too?

So Batman Beyond, Batman and Robin, Red Robin, and Green Arrow; all of you guys watch your backs this year.
Generation Lost, you're fine since you had a set length from the beginning.

EDIT: I'm sorry guys…. Doom Patrol is ending in May as well….
(But It might not be just me, since R.E.B.E.L.S., Freedom FIghters, and JSA All-Stars are also ending in may, and I never read any of them. Well Ok, I read and enjoyed the first issue of Freedom Fighters, but other than that, no.)

A little late, but Red Robin, Zatanna, Batgirl (Stephanie Brown), Secret Six, and especially Xombi being lost in the relaunch. FML.

I'm sure there's people out there who are glad I liked Titans so much towards the end. XP

WOW! That must really be terrible. I too found out Outsider was getting canceled but I had no idea about Doom Patrol.

@VillainousV: I can try that. I did like Castlevania 64…
And to be fair, I was glad Batman Confidential got cancelled. I hated the 2 arcs before the issue I loved and I hated the arc after it.
OH SNAP! I think less people were upset about this but I REALLY liked The Web.
And I like Tony Daniel on Batman when I know a lot of people don't.
And Gotham City Sirens after Paul Dini left.
And Titans.

I TRIED liking anything related to The Legion of Super-Heroes but I just couldn't. Maybe I need to try again.

@Yumulu: Well considering that all 4 titles I just mentioned being cancelled were all Batman and Batman Family titles, I think Red Robin's good for now.

I'm kind of pissed, DC seems to be rubbing salt in the wound by introducing Batman: Gates of Gotham a month after 'announcing' the cancellation of Streets of Gotham. But it could just be me.

@Emperor Gonzo Noir: Good news is, Doom Patrol is crossing over with the hugely popular Secret Six. If the second half of the crossover is as good as the first half I think Doom Patrol will be in the clear.

@VillainousV: I'll just go back to liking Green Lantern: Mosaic, Gotham Central, and Blue Beetle. Things that were cancelled before I got into comics.

@The Mighty Monarch: Well the thing about Doom Patrol is that even if it pretty likely it will get canceled there enough writers out there that seems to find potential in a superheros team other than the Justice League & co. so it will eventually come back a few years after the cancellation, like always, it been what 5-6 time now?.

I didn't realize that Batman Beyond just started (though it started last year), but it just give a feeling of a kind of series that wont pass the 20's or so issue, unless maybe they decide to continue the canceled tv show.

As for Red Robin, well there just way too many Bat titles... and robins running around for the maters, and it just seems that Red Robin would get the Axe before Batman and robin. But well that pretty much baseless speculation and I should really start to read Red Robin it does look pretty awesome.

@Yumulu: Really? I don't think DC would be that quick to give up on Batman Beyond, and Red Robin just exactly DIDN'T seem to have that feel to me. If any did, I would've thought Doom Patrol sadly was most likely in that list.

But then again what the hell do I know? I get most attached to series that tend to die. :c

The 2003 volume was the best, IMO. Nothing else has quite been up to par since.

By the way if I were you I would not put to much hope on Batman Beyond and Red Robin staying in serialization for more than another year. They got a certain cancellation smell around them.

@iLLituracy: I think Fabian Nicieza foresaw my curse because the latest issue of Red Robin was less impressive than the last few.

@The Dark Huntress: I'm as devastated as you are. DC just announced it yesterday in their early-revealed May Batman solicits.

@MatKrenz: @hydrabob: I'm a hardcore DC fan, nothing against Marvel but my budget won't allow much expansion atm, so you guys don't have to worry.
