@pyrogram: If not for the last second shifting of his right leg in preparation for another attack, the emerald archers manifested arrow would likely have sliced right through his right thigh, potentially severing the artery, luck would have it that the arrow instead, if only by centimeters, slicing through his leg. Gritting his teeth to stop himself from yelling out in pain, the assassin reacted like a wounded beast as time seemed to slow down and adrenaline kicked in. Tossing his sword to the side as his right arm came up in hopes of catching the his opponents swinging arm in his powerful grip.
Whether or not he succeeded in catching Kurt's arm, the archer drew a small poison tipped flechette from it's mount on his left leg, using it like a dagger, he thrusted it towards Kurt's mid-section where he seemed most likely to find a weak spot in his opponent's armor. The poison wouldn't kill him, it might make him a bit light headed at first, but the toxin's true purpose was to severely dampen any mutant traits his foe might possess for a short period of time. The toxin itself was a hold over from his days as a Meta-Human affairs operative.
As his body adjusted to the sudden adrenal increase, time seemed to revert to normal. To buy himself time, he dropped a smoke bomb between the two and waited for the device to detonate.
