Yes, very much so. When Fear Itself is seen as a major event things are very bad. Also that people can see how things are going to turn out, like the end of AvX and the things that used to be big and mean something like deaths. They're both getting stuck in their ways. DC shuck things up with the New 52, but every comic in that isn't a complete masterpiece and when you see Marvel pretty much do the same thing it gets annoying.
