Here is a simple blog post that I published for Marvel Zombies Destroy! #1-4:
If you don't want to click on the link, the text is as follows:
Marvel Zombies Destroy! #1, #2, #3, and #4 (of 5)
I did an Audio Review of Issue #1 a while back (May 12, 2012), and even then I knew this five-issue mini-series was going to be worth both the money ($3.99 / issue) and the wait (for each issue’s release).
Now, we have only to wait a few more days for the last of this mini (Issue #5 is due to release on July 18th, 2012) and we will have the complete story and twisted story. A story that started out with Nazi Zombies, continued with Zombie Invaders, Dum Dums, and Asgardians, and will likely conclude with a giant drop-dead-drag-out fight for the omniverse!
There a several reasons I like this series. Here they are:
- Mirco Pierfederici’s (@Mirco_Pierfe) art is awesome. It captures the “look and feel” needed for a Zombie book.
- Between Frank Marraffino’s start and Peter David’s (@PeterDavid_PAD) follow-up and finish, the story is well written and excellently paced.
- At least someone of “relative importance” dies each issue. Which is key for a good Zombie book, you need to be worried about everyone being bit, not just the guys wearing crimson.
- It has well written omniversal tie-ins for well known characters.
- Dum Dum Dugan!
- Howard the Duck!
