This was a surprisingly enjoy able little mini-series. It was consistent, well planned and well executed. The conclusion "felt right" and overall I would give the series a 4.0 / 5.0.
If you haven't picked up this mini-series yet, it is time to do so. It is a fun new look at an original character, and at $2.99 an issue, it is one of the lower priced books that provides more than enough entertainment for the price paid.
The following are my Reviews for this beautiful The Ray mini:
The title may be a bit misleading, and given Kevin's work, your mind may have to lift your mind out of the gutter, but last night while live tweeting during Comic Book Men, one of my many tweets was "favorited" by the main main himself:
I know this is lame, but this is what Twitter is all about right? I mean why else would people spend hours sending 140 character messages into the universe if they weren't asking for a little attention from someone they admire?
UPDATE (02/29/2012): In the same week I was "touched by Kevin Smith", I was also, "touched by John Layman". I think I can die happy now. lol. I am so lame!
If you haven't already, it is time for you to pick up the Magneto: Not A Hero mini-series. I am not sure if and when it will come out as a trade, but I am sure there are still single issues floating around at your LCS.
Inspiration taken from titles like, "The Quick and the Dead", I decided to name my New 52 - All Star Western issue reviews in kind (after the first issue of course, when we started having two different stories per book).
I have to say, I really enjoy this genre of comic book. I have always been more into Super Heroes and Marvel, so this is a completely different stride. I have always enjoyed gritty western dramas though... so this was a perfect fit!
