@oldnightcrawler: Tony and Steve are way closer than Hawkeye and Thor. Cap and Iron Man are fundamentally opposite people in pretty much every single aspect of their characters, but despite all of that they're meant to be extremely close friends.

Captain America has never really opened up to Thor or even clued him in on a lot of things. Hawkeye is for sure in Cap's inner circle of most trusted Avengers, but so is Captain Marvel and Black Widow and I don't think Cap would talk to any of them about the things he's talked to about with his best friends.

Falcon is the only person that Cap told about Ian when he was emotionally destroyed at the loss of his son. Tony and Iron Man have shared so many secrets with one another and have manged to put so many differences behind them. Bucky fought through WW2 and and knows Cap in ways that no one else can really match up with.

I was thinking about putting The human Touch on the list, but I don't think Marvel cares about himself to really show how close they should be.

I'm sure Cap's much closer to Thor and Hawkeye than, say, Doctor Druid.

Even longtime Avengers like Hank Pym, Quicksilver, or the Vision probably aren't as close to Cap' as a friend as Hawkeye or Thor, who obviously both share a special relationship to him.

I would put either of them as being closer to him than Iron Man, based on the comics.

@oldnightcrawler: Namor puts himself at odds ends with Cap to offten for them to be best friends. Hawkeye and Thor sure aren't though.
