@themantisshrimp: I actually think Tomasi wrote him the best. I love Damian though, so I'll never wish for him to go away. If anything, I want more of him.
My ranking and scores for all of the Rebirth titles so far:
1. Green Arrow - 5/5
2. Superman - 4/5
3. Batman - 3.5/5
4. Green Lanterns - 3/5
I think this issue was decent but ultimately felt like a lot of set-up with no real story. The same can be said about Superman and Green Lanterns. All four of these books show incredible promise though and I am really looking forward to seeing what Tom King will do with Batman.
This was definitely a 5 for me and EASILY the best of the Rebirth issues so far. Which is insane because I really didn't like Ben Percy's writing before Rebirth. I hope this book can maintain this level of quality because it came out swinging.
@captainmarvel4ever: I think his villains get a bad rap but I love a lot of them. Kingpin, Bullseye, and The Hand are all really awesome. However, he does have some silly ones but I kind of dig silly comic book villains every once in a while. It also helps that he's had runs from creators like Miller, Bendis, Brubaker, and Waid who all did a great job of making silly concepts work.
I think all of the criticisms you guys laid at the feet of X-Men Apocalypse are completely valid but I had a blast with the movie. I know I'm in the minority here but I tend to prefer the Fox X-Men movies to the MCU and I enjoyed Apocalypse more than Civil War (though, I really liked both). Deadpool is still the best comic book movie of the year so far though.
