The only logical take on the matter imo

After listening to Gambino's various mixtapes and his albums (poindexter and culdesac) I was really excited for Camp. But with the exception of a song or two he has consistantly disappointed me since then. Maybe the new found fame from Community went to his head or something. Anyway, Schoolboy Q is definitely heaps more hit than miss for me and I love how he embraces the older, dirtier side of hip hop almost to the point of parody (Gangsta from Oxymoron is the best example.)

Frank Miller fanboys. At best, he can realistically be described as a piece of sh*t. Somebody who still supports that maniac has something wrong with their moral compass.

I feel that people who complain about it based on issues of continuity and such have missed the point. I hate it when a characters race or sexual orientation is changed. It's not because I'm racist and it's not because I give a sh*t about where people stick what. It's because changing a character like that is offensive. Take the Avengers, for example. They could have made a new character and bought them into the spot light to try and get some hype going, normalise the idea of a minority that is more than that. But instead they coasted off the popularity of a white character (Nick Fury), changed his race and figured that was good enough. It's tokenism and I actually think that if that's the way they're going to go about it they may as well not do it

Because Disney owns both Star Wars and Marvel, Star Wars comic books are going to move over to Marvel and Dark Horse will stop printing them. With that in mind and the fact that everything outside of the films and the Clone Wars series has been retconned. I have heard from a few people that All those stories that are no longer considered cannon will not be reprinted by Marvel. I'm not sure if it's true or not but I'm not wanting to risk waiting. So, finally my question is: What are some Star Wars comics and novels you guy recommend so I can grab some more stuff before it's potentially too late?

So far I have read and enjoyed Legacy and am enjoying Darth Maul: Son of Dathomir

I did not enjoy the origin story of Boba Fett and I thought Darth Maul: Death Sentence was entertaining, but nothing special.

Anywho, those are the only stories I've read and so with that in mind, bring on your recommendations!

When people take words far to serious.

For example; the "N" word. I use n!gga to describe all races and gender that belongs to the homo sapiens species; it's simply a universal term for me - as long as the word isn't meant in a hurtful and racist way, I have no problem with anyone using it. Because at the end of the day, it's just that, a word.

Are you seriously taking the position that if people are offended by something it's their fault/problem?

Are you seriously creating a straw-man argument? Point out where exactly I said that was the case.

The words I chose were picked for a reason. I never accused you of saying that, but the implication of your post is pretty obvious.

You have posted in a thread about what "grinds your gears" that you find it frustrating when people take offense to you using the word n*gger because it's silly to get offended by a word. You also stated that it's not supposed to be offensive on your end when you use it. Considering that you justified your use of the word and then said that it grinds your gears when people get offended by it, it's not a huge leap to take when I inferred that you don't figure that it's your problem if somebody gets offended by it.

So who's problem do you think it is? Also, I think it's worth mentioning that I posed you a question. If you wanted to respond to me the easier path would have been to simply answer the question instead of throwing one back at me.

everyone in the US has had a time when they were picked on heavily.

go look at Japanese american's around ww2. people who were born in the US and never set foot in Japan - thrown into internment camps by the government just because of their race.

in comparison, getting called a bad names is a joke.

The words aren't the point. It's the implications behind them. The whole point of racial slurs is to enforce otherness. It's to dehumanise the enemy (names like Jerry, Charlie, Ivan etc.) or to show supremacy. Either way, it's all about making sure group A knows that they're not welcome around group B.
