These definitely aren't announcements, this some sort of nostalgia tease for something else that's happening next summer. A dozen large-scale events at the same time don't make any sense.
@extremis: Well, for starters the whole Mandarin reveal mirrors the way the movie was marketed, it ends up blindsiding both the viewer and the characters in the film. That plays into the entire concept of manipulating the media to your own means. It also works to explain the completely overly theatrical nature of the film's Mandarin, no terrorist would have such good production values on his threat videos. So, instead of being silly it becomes clever.
I remember the first time I was ever exposed to Comic Vine. It was on a Whiskey Media Happy Hour from way back, and your segment involved a live action scene reading from a comic (I can't remember what the comic was though). It was pretty hilarious and brought me to the site which in turn contributed to the resurgence of my comic book reading. So thanks for that. Any chance of reviving the scene reading as video content for the site?
Do you find it hard to read old comics? Personally, having recently read A Death In The Family and Knightfall, I found it extremely difficult to get through it because of the amount of thought balloons and on the nose dialog. I think that writing has just gotten so much better recently. Thoughts?
Sara, you seem to have excellent taste in music. What's your favourite Sleigh Belks song?
Also, should I feel bad about going all digital for comics? It just so convenient.
Anyhoo, thanks for the excellent podcast and content. Have a good weekend!
