Yes, i think that is the route they should have taken with Smallville season 11. Althought Smallville was once a comic book and that didn't do too well so maybe that played a part in the decision.

I wonder how it will be received as a novel.

I do NOT agree with the jerk comment. Just because he stands up for what he believes does not make him jerk. He is doing what he feels needs to be done, what he knows he has to do to cause change. Following the system to the letter doesn't help anyone, criminals even in real life have long since found ways around, and through the system. Someone has to come and shake things up. Show that the good guys don't always have there hands tied, they aren't always the weak and the blind. The good guys can have a symbol of strength, and intolerance.

Batman is the boogieman of the night, Superman is the new sheriff in town that dares the bad guys to come out an face him. In doing so, he will inspire others the way Batman can't.

I hate multiple Avenger teams. I think it should be one team, rotating roster. IF you want another Avengers book then it should be like a Young Avengers book, the trainee's. Thats actually interesting, not more of the same.

The more realism the better I say. I dont really care for Canon Fodder characters but the Gwen Staceys of the comic book world are needed.

I have to say my dream team is basically the New Justice League. I prefer Cyborg to Martian Manhunter. I like Bats being Bruce Wayne, Flash being Barry Allen, and Green Lantern being Hal Jordan. Oh yeah an Aquaman not having that dumb hook.

At San Deigo Comic Con my gf and I talked to Dan Didio. We mentioned Supergirl and how her outfit seemed very Powergirl/Supergirl mashup. Was that because there was not going to be a Powergirl in the the new52? He said what do you mean mash up? They are two seperate people. So I replied, So will she be in the DCnU? he said  "I didnt say that,  but wait and see."

If you could see his expression I would say its a big hint that Powergirl will appear. Its already known that the new52 is pretty much just the first wave.

ugh Tony this blog made me mad man, I expect this kinda material from Sara but not you.

first an foremost, YES HE SHOULD WEAR THE SUIT The show has always been about Clark Kent becoming Superman, and also Superman becoming Clark Kent. As we are seeing in the current season he is developing the Clark Kent persona. Should they have done this earlier? yes. Its a TV show though, known for dragging things out as long as someone will tune in.

Did Smallville basically create an alternate reality version of Superman? yes it did, so don't use the comics as a rule book, but that does not mean that it shouldn't end with him in the red blue tights. He still hasnt flown yet (a few times yes i know, i've watched every episode) and he should not stay the Red Blue Blur, he is not the freakin Flash with different color scheme. Since season 1 the seeds of who he will become have been there, the floating, the cape vision of the future. We all knew were this was going from the beginning, just because it took 10 years doesn't mean that changes.

This season is setting up with Darkseid being the villain who preys on peoples despair, for Clark to finally Step into the light, to Fly, to be a Symbol of of Hope. that is where the suit comes in. the red blue blur is just that, a blur, an unknown hero. SUPERMAN is the symbol, the shield and the Cape flying in the sky, not running by on the ground. it may have been a long time coming, but its here and im excited for it.
