  • Power Girl decided to reopen Starrware labs in New York as a means of getting a fresh start, but the city soon came under attack by robots of Ultra-Humanite, who aimed to place his brain in her body, which he believed to be ideal. Ultra-Humanite lifted all of Manhattan in the air as an ultimatum, offering its safety to Power Girl in exchange for her body. When she refused, Ultra-Humanite masked her in goggles that reflect her heat vision, and her bound her by gravity restraints that held her by the full force of the Earth's gravity. She managed to escape by breaking the machine with freezing breath. The ensuing fight burned Ultra-Humanite severely, but he still refused to lower Manhattan. Power Girl doesn't even bother trying to play the giant organ of controls, and simply cuts all the suspension cables to drop the island back safely with the help of Atlee.

With Ultra-Humanite locked away, Power Girl went back to assimilating Atlee to human life, and trying to fit in for herself. This was interrupted by Diane Dorst, who used a magic book to attack the city with plants and sea monsters, and then again by an unknown photographer who threatened her with photos of her secret identity, and again by the children of an emperor from Vega 7 who battle with their caretaker. In exchange for her help, the space travellers gave Power Girl their technology to be analyzed and hopefully utilized by Starrware for inventions to help the world.

  • Biologists Mark and Marie Logan took their two year old son Garfield with them to the African country of Upper Lamumba, where they were conducting research on genetic codes. Gar came down with a rare tropical disease that was believed only animals could survive. In a desperate move to save his son, Professor Logan treated Gar with an untested machine which he originally developed to isolate the common genetic bond shared between humans and animals.

Gar manged recovered, but a side effect turned his skin green. A few years later, Marie Logan was threatened by a deadly Black Mamba snake, and Gar's desire to rescue his mother brought forth his powers, changing him into a mongoose. Several years later, his parents died in a boating accident, an incident which Gar still feels he could have prevented. After the death of his parents, Gar was raised by King Tawaba, a friend of the Logans and chief of the local tribe. Mobu, the tribe's witch doctor, had hated the Logans so much that he arranged for two Americans to kill Gar in exchange for Mobu revealing the whereabouts of a temple containing fabulous treasure. The temple collapsed and killed Mobu, but the two American looters rescued Gar and brought him back to the U.S. in order to force him to commit crimes for them. The two men eventually killed each other, and the courts set out to appoint a legal guardian for Gar.

It was decided that Gar's guardian would be Nicholas Galtry, an evil man who was the attorney for the Logan estate. While the young Logan was missing in Africa, Galtry had embezzled funds from Gar's inheritance. When Gar was found, Galtry plotted to kill the boy and have all the wealth for himself.

  • Koriand'r is the second of three children born to the royal family of Tamaran. Her elder sister Komand'r (later known as Blackfire) was deemed unworthy of ascension to the throne because she lacked the ability to fly and the subjects of Tamaran hated her for not being a worthy princess. So Koriand'r was given all of Komand'r's privileges, honors, and dignity, eventually becoming the first princess of Tamaran in 100 years. Both sisters were sent to train with the Warlords of Okaara and it was here that the bitter Komand'r tried to take revenge on her sister by killing her. Komand'r failed and was expelled by the Warlords. Komand'r joined the enemies of Tamaran known as the Citadel, and quickly rose through their ranks. After she had gained considerable power with the Citadel she betrayed Tamaran to the Citadel.

The Citadel used the information the treacherous Komand'r gave them to successfully invade Tamaran. Defeated, King Myand'r turned his daughter, Koriand'r, over to them in return for peace. Koriand'r would never be allowed to return to Tamaran or the Citadel would destroy the planet. She endured six years of horrific torture and servitude to her sister who had become a high ranking warrior of the Citadel. Koriand'r was raped by members of the Citadel that were under the command of Komand'r. In retaliation, Koriand'r killed the rapists, but was sentenced to death. Komand'r was to have her executed but before this could occur both sisters were captured by the Psions, who were a race of sadistic scientists. Hereafter the sisters became the helpless subjects of cruel experiments. These experiments consisted of the Psions using the Tamaraneans' natural ability of constantly absorbing solar energy and trying to see how much energy they could hold within their bodies before they would explode from the excess energy. Koriandr's signature "starbolts" were a result of these experiments. She eventually escaped by using her new-found starbolts and freed her sister. When Komand'r was freed she struck down Koriand'r with the starbolts that she too had developed. Because Komand'r had been exposed to the experimental energy longer than Koriand'r, her starbolts were stronger (and she also gained the ability to fly), enabling her to strike down her own sister and escape. Koriand'r was recaptured, but later escaped by seducing one of the guards and fled using one of Psions own vessels. She arrived on Earth were she first met the young superhero team known as the Teen Titans.

  • Early Life

The Scarlet Witch is a mutant with the ability to alter probability. She is the daughter of Magneto and his late wife Magda. She has auburn hair and green eyes, she is 5 foot 10 inches and weights 129lbs. Wanda is also the fraternal twin sister of Quicksilver, she was the first born. Magda fled from Magneto (when she was pregnant with the twins; Magneto didn't know she was pregnant) after she saw him use his magnetic powers and realized he was a mutant. Magda eventually found refuge at Mt. Wundagore of Transia. The twins were born on Mt. Wundagore and due to the energy residual, allowed Wanda to use magic in addition to her mutant powers. Magda would eventually run away from Mt. Wundagore and apparently committed suicide near a frozen wasteland because she was afraid Magneto might come for their children.

Now the motherless twins would stay with a humanoid cow named Bova. However, a World War II heroine named Miss America was also giving birth to twins with her husband the Whizzer. The twins and the mother died due to radiation poisoning but Bova only told Whizzer the mother died, and Bova gives Whizzer Pietro and Wanda instead. Whizzer would run away from Wundagore with the twins but would eventually return the twins back to Mt. Wundagore. Bova would find another set of foster parents for Wanda and Pietro with Django and Marya Maximoff, who had just lost two children of their own.

Django and Marya were Romans who were victims of prejudice in Transia. Django worked as a doll-maker but it was hard for him to find customers due to him being a Roma. Django would eventually have to steal food to keep his family from starving. Later, Wanda was sexually molested by a boy her age but she used her powers to keep him away and ran to safety. The villagers however, accused Wanda of seducing the boy and they attacked the entire family. They burned the family’s wagon. Marya was still inside and burned to death. They clubbed Django unconscious but Wanda and Pietro were able to escape. Wanda and Pietro now believed that they were the only ones of their families left. The two twins would grow up together taking care of themselves. Pietro was very protective of Wanda.

  • Jubilation Lee is a Chinese-American girl, and was born in Beverly Hills, California, where she lived with her wealthy immigrant parents. An immensely talented gymnast, she was believed to have the potential to participate in the Olympic Games. After her parents were killed Jubilee ran away to live at the closest thing that felt like home, the mall. While there she stole to survive and was a constant annoyance to the mall rent-a-cops. Finally growing tired of her they called the M Squad to capture her. As luck would have it Storm, Rogue, Dazzler and Psylocke were visiting the mall from their home base in Australia courtesy of Gateway. Seeing Jubilee attacked, the four women easily defeated the M Squad and went back through the gateway. Unknown to them Gateway left the portal open longer than needed, and Jubilee followed them through it.

    X-Man

Alone in the Australian outback, and unsure of what the X-Men would do to her, Jubilee created a small place in their hideout to live in. After a brief run-in with Nanny, Jubilee's presence was still unknown to all but Gateway who kept quiet. Some time later the Reavers came to the base to reclaim it, only to discover that many of the X-Men had already left. Psylocke, Havok, Colossus and Dazzler entered the Siege Perilous to escape from the Reavers with no knowledge of Jubilee still being there. Caught by surprise when he returned, Wolverine was taken by the Reavers and crucified on a giant X. Jubilee was terrified, but did not want to leave the injured man alone. Using all of his remaining strength, Wolverine forced himself off of the x-shaped crucifix. Thinking to herself that she could either help Wolverine or look after her own safety, Jubilee risked being detected by the Reavers in order to rescue him. She then nursed him back to health in her makeshift hideout inside the outback base, sneaking past the Reavers on multiple occasions in order to collect food and medicine. In a dream hallucination, Wolverine thought Jubilee was a combination of Nick Fury and Carol Danvers. Confused and weak from the tortures that he faced, Logan lashed out towards Jubilee. Acting on pure instinct alone, Jubilee blasted him with her energy bursts, sending him across the room. After he came back to his senses, Wolverine decided it best for them to make an escape to a more secure area. Teaming up for the first time, Wolverine and Jubilee managed to take down several cybernetic dogs. Donald Pierce of the Hellfire Club attacked soon after, as he was leading a group of Reavers in search of Wolverine. Thinking that he only had to deal with the feral mutant, Pierce was buried under a pile of boulders that Jubilee blasted off of the ceiling. Safe for the time being, they escaped to Sydney, where they boarded a ship to Madripoor.

  • Emma Frost grew up in the Snow Valley, Massachusetts where she attended the Snow Valley School for girls. During her time at the school her powers began to manifest, first thought to be headaches and then into basic telepathy, this had a massive affect on her causing her to pass out, it wouldst be until she went to college that she would understand her powers with the help of Astrid Bloom.

While Emma was at the Snow Valley School for girls alot of things happened to Emma; She developed a crush on her Teacher and mentor Ian Kendall, Her powers began to manifest, She discovered her fathers affair while in the south of France, her brother became a drug addict after their father had Christian's boyfriend arrested and subsequently tried to commit suicide (which Emma saw) he was then institutionalized which is when Emma decided that this was enough and left the family for good, or so she thought.

After Emma left the family she went to work in Boston to make it on her own however, this didn't last long as she became involved with a man named Troy Killkelly, whom she discovered was involved with the Boston Mob, so after she tells him about her telepathic powers they scam a few Casino's and begin to get some money to pay the mob off. However, the mob finds out that Emma is from the Frost Family and decide to take advantage and extort money out of Winston Frost, at first this doesnt work until they send a lock of Emma's hair, which Adrienne confirms to be real, as well as other things which causes Winston the pay them off for the release of his daughter. When Emma realizes that Lucien, the mobs leader, is going to kill them all she plants doubts in their minds which ends in a blood bath and a result of this is Troy is killed. Emma then takes the small fortune to make it on her own where she enrolls at Empire state university.

After using the money gained from being the Boston Mobs hostage Emma enrolls at Empire State University where her powers have begun to develop more so. It is here that she meets Astrid Bloom, who is also a telepath and a skilled one at that. Emma and Astrid become friends and Astrid teaches Emma about the use of her powers and what she can do with them. It's not until Astrid begins to make things happen with Emma's friends that they have a psychic battle, this being Emma's first offensive use of her new power. During the psychic fight Astrid believes that she has gotten Emma beat but what Astrid didn't count on was Emma Frost's ruthlessness and underhanded ways. During the fight Emma had been on an "express tour of her psyche" and learned everything Astrid knew, this is also where some of Astrids personality traits bled through into Emma's consciousness for example her bitterness towards baseline humans. After this Emma got a job at the Hellfire Club where she was approached by Charles Xavier to join his second X-Men team, along with Vulcan and Darwin. She refused him and Xavier erased the entire encounter from her then mostly unshielded mind. From here she used her telepathy to help Sebastian Shaw stage a coup of the Hellfire Club and rose to become the Inner Circle's White Queen.

  • Born in Themyscira on the island of Paradise Island, she was the daughter to Queen Hippolyta. When the Greek goddesses created the Amazons, all the souls of women killed by male violence were given rebirth as Amazons from the clay at the bottom of the Red Sea, save one, which stayed in Gaea's Womb for thousands of years. After their exile to Themyscira, Hippolyta found herself wishing for a child. She was instructed to mold some clay into a baby girl and Diana was blessed and granted powers of the Gods. She was given beauty and a kind heart from Aphrodite, wisdom from Athena, strength and power from Demeter, hunting instincts and communication with animals from Artemis, and speed and flight from Hermes. When she was a young woman, she spotted a 'metal bird', in reality, the plane of pilot Steve Trevor, whose co pilot had been possessed by Ares and was seeking to crash the plane into Themyscira, killing the Amazons. Diana rescued Steve, and the gods decided that there should be an emissary and Hippolyta held a contest to chose the woman who would travel from Themyscira. Hippolyta forbade Diana to compete, but she did so anyway, won easily and became the emissary to the outside world. She was given a costume based on the army patches of Diana Rockwell Trevor, who had crash landed on Themyscira decades earlier and saved the Amazons during a battle with an escaped creature from Doom's Doorway. Diana has also given up the mantle of Wonder Woman a few times to fellow Amazon Artemis, mother Hippolyta, and Donna Troy (more of that below).

Before traveling to Man's World, she was given some items. She was given the Lasso of Truth and the Sandals of Hermes, which allowed her to travel places in a snap. Her mission was to study the people living on Man's World and defeat Ares and bring peace. Upon arriving in America, she fought against injustice and met Harvard professor Dr. Julia Kapatelis and daughter Vanessa Kapatelis as well as Steve Trevor and Etta Candy who were both Air Force officers. Living with Julia and Vanessa, she swiftly learned to speak English. Diana was given her name, Wonder Woman, when Decay, one of Ares' minions attacked her, and the fight came onto the streets. A reporter coined the name based on the emblem on her chest. Discovering Ares' plan to create a nuclear holocaust, she showed him what would happen, not just to the mortals, but to the Gods who need their worship, with the Lasso of Truth. Ares, humbled, returned to his home dimension. Sorely injured Diana returned to Themyscira where the island and Amazon medicine healed her.

She returned to Boston and worked with a woman called Myndi Mayer to show that Wonder Woman was here to protect. She spent months doing interviews around the world when she met most of the Justice Leaguers. There she met Superman and was completely infatuated with him. (Diana's mother, Hippolyta, actually joined the Justice Society Of America when, in Diana's future, Hippolyta traveled back in time as Wonder Woman). With Wonder Woman's touring, she caught the attention of Cheetah who wanted to steal the Lasso of Truth off Wonder Woman. She told Wonder Woman that she found the lost Girdle of Antiope, but once Cheetah grabbed the Lasso, her true intentions were revealed.

She returned home once again and the gods were satisfied with her work. Zeus however was more than satisfied with her work, and offered to make her a goddess if she would agree to sleep with him. Diana refused and she was given the Challenge of the Gods. She was ordered to retrieve his fondest treasure. Hippolyta was not happy, but she could do nothing about it. In the deepest pits of Paradise Island, she met Diana Trevor who was the mother of Steve Trevor. Diana Trevor revealed that she had helped the Amazons of Themyscira and died during battle. Wonder Woman discovered that she was named after her and also the origin of her costume. Hippolyta found Wonder Woman however, and they embark on the quest together. Together they find Hercules, turned into stone. They bring him back to the surface. With thousands of years of punishment on his shoulders, he begged to be forgiven with what happened to him and the Amazons. The Amazons forgave, a celebration was held and the gods were happy with Diana. She returned to Man's World to continue her mission.

Once she returned, Myndi Mayer set up another interview. The Silver Swan turned up and both battled but did not defeat her. She stayed once again with Vanessa. Wonder Woman found herself thinking about Superman more and more and asked Myndi to set up a date between the two. On their date the two battled against Darkseid and freed Olympus. Afterwards, they both decided it was best to remain friends. Wonder Woman knows of Superman's dual identity and he trusts her enough. Wonder Woman is also one of the few who call him "Kal."

The gods decided it was time for a vacation (or "cosmic migration" as they like to call it), but Diana decided to go to Greece and discover the past of her ancient people. There she met Julia Kapatelis' parents, but had a strange feeling towards one of the smaller islands near Greece. It turns out that Circe lived on one of the islands and sent her minions to capture Diana and bring her to Circe. Circe revealed that she killed Hippolyta's sister, Antiope and the prophecy of Hecate. Circe was about to use a spell that would bring Diana back to her clay form, but Hermes came just in time to save her.

  • Carol Danvers was born in Boston, Massachusetts, as the only girl among three children. Despite the fact that Carol was extremely bright and capable, more so than either of her brothers, her chauvinistic father refused to pay for her to attend college, preferring to spend the money on his sons instead. He insisted that Carol merely find a good husband to take care of her, a sexist notion that the fiercely independent Carol refused to accept.

Carol had always loved the idea of flying, and after she graduated from high school she decided to defy her father's wishes and joined the United States Air Force. She excelled in the Air Force, her skill as a jet fighter pilot so remarkable that her colleagues nicknamed her "Ace," and she quickly rose to the rank of Colonel. This brought her to the attention of the Central Intelligence Agency, who actively recruited her and trained her to become an elite field agent.

As an agent of the CIA, Carol often teamed up with fellow agent Michael Rossi, and the two became romantically involved. She also teamed up with a Canadian agent named Logan (before he became Wolverine) and the two became good friends, saving each other's lives during several dangerous missions, and it was even implied that they may have become more than friends at some point.

On one of her most important CIA missions, Carol had to infiltrate Soviet airspace alongside Logan and an American test pilot named Ben Grimm (before he became the Thing and a member of the Fantastic Four). The mission almost failed when they were intercepted by Soviet forces (led by the Black Widow) and forced to the ground. With a good amount of luck, the three managed to escape and succeeded in retrieving the mysterious metal which they had been sent to obtain. In the process, the trio formed a bond that would live on into their super-hero careers.

During what would prove to be her final CIA mission, Carol was captured by the KGB and held in Lubyanka prison, where she endured interrogation and torture. In defiance of government orders, Logan and Michael Rossi infiltrated Russia, broke into Lubyanka, and rescued Carol. The ordeal extinguished Carol's enthusiasm for being a CIA agent, so she decided to resign in order to pursue a different career.

    Ms. Marvel

    Rescued From The Kree Psyche-Magnitron

Carol's impressive resume landed her a position as the head of security of NASA headquarters in Cape Canaveral. There she unexpectedly made the acquaintance of the Kree super-hero Mar-Vell (known on Earth as Captain Marvel) and hints of a romance developed between the two. Carol's CIA background made her quite unafraid to put herself in potentially dangerous situations, and while on the job she found herself caught in the middle an epic battle between Captain Marvel and his Kree arch-enemy Yon-Rogg. Carol, who until then had always felt herself capable of handling anything, was a mere pawn in the struggle between the two super-powered combatants, and she hated feeling so helpless. During the conflict Carol was accidentally knocked into an otherworldly Kree device called the psyche-magnitron, which had the power to turn thoughts into reality but whose radiation was lethal to humans. Captain Marvel shielded Carol from the bulk of the radiation with his own body, causing Carol's DNA to absorb much of his own genetic template. Carol's lifelong dreams of flight and her sudden wish to have powers like those of Captain Marvel completed the process, and her DNA was transformed into that of a superhuman member of the Kree race.

  • Jean Grey is the youngest daughter of Professor John Grey, a Bard College History Department in Annandale-on-Hudson, and his wife Elaine Grey. Jean was playing with her friend Annie Richardson when Annie was struck by an automobile. The expereince of the accident caused Jean's powers to manifest. She was so disturbed by this that she isolated herself because she could not control her new abilities.

When Jean was eleven, a psychiatrist suggested to her parents that they consult Professor Charles Xavier, who was a telepathic mutant. Professor X informed Jean and her parents that Jean was in fact a mutant. Her parents had never considered the possibility that Jean could be a mutant. Professor X brought her to his school in Westchester County New York, Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. He then taught her how to operate Cerebro. Jean then, in the form of the Phoenix, touched Scott Summer's mind as he slept in an orphanage. For Jean's own good, Professor X dampened her powers using a series of psychic shields, or blocks, so her powers would only manifest at levels she could handle as she matured. When Jean reached the age of 13, she started to manifest telekinetic powers, which led Professor X to begin instructing her in its use.

Marvel Girl and the Original X-men

    X-Men

When Professor X declared that Jean had reached mastery of her powers (her telekinesis), he recommended to her parents that they should enroll their daughter in his school. The Xavier Institute for Gifted Youngsters, presently known as the Xavier Institute for Higher Learning, was secretly a school for mutants, and also serves as the X-Men's headquarters.

  • May "Mayday" Parker is the child of Peter and Mary Jane Parker in a alternate future In the MC2 continuity. When she was little she was kidnapped from her parents. They were reunited with their baby daughter by Kaine, who found the child living with Alison Mongraine, the con artist who had kidnapped the baby on instruction from the Green Goblin. After they were reunited, Peter lost a leg during the horrific final conflict with the Green Goblin. After the battle Peter was offered a bionic replacement from Mr. Fantastic and, considering it a wake-up call, decided to retire and focus on being a husband and father (the battle is glimpsed in Spider Girl #7, and fully explained in Spider Girl #49). For years, they chose to keep their past from Mayday and hoped that she wouldn't develop powers of her own.

  • At a young age, Brunnhilde, along with Sif, were one of the few female Asgardians to enter into training in order to become warriors. Although the two girls started out as rivals, due to Sif's jealousy, believing that the blonde Brunnhilde would be more competition for winning the affections of Thor. Even though the two initially get off to a rough start, they eventually became allies when Brunnhilde helped Sif to break an enchantment on Thor which was placed by Amora when she used the Mirror of Mycha. To to this day, Sif is perhaps the only female Asgardian who may be equal to Brunnhilde in combat. Once Brunnhilde had grown and completed her training she was appointed by the All-Father, Odin, to lead the Valkyrior in combing the battlefields for worthy mortals on the brink of death and leading them to Valhalla. Brunnhilde was so proficient at this task and so renowned for her skills that she was able to maintain this position of power for centuries. Her success and combat prowess caused Odin to revere her so much, that she was even tasked with subduing his son, Thor, when he destructively tore through the mortal realm of Midgard after the humans he had been protecting ate his beloved steeds. Although Brunnhilde was doing well in combat against the Thunder God, the two were forced to join together and defeat a Storm Giant who came to destroy Midgard. Afterward, both Asgardians seemed to enjoy a brief tryst before returning to their respective duties.

    Serving with the Defenders

During this time, however, Odin entered into a deal with the other Gods of Earth and the ancient Celestials, forcing him to cut off all interaction with Midgard, leaving Brunnhilde and her Valkyries only slain Asgardian warriors to choose from when performing their duties. Since Asgardians rarely died due to their long life-span, Brunnhilde attempted to occupy her time by finding new adventures to face. On some occasions, she would even accompany the Enchantress from time to time, although when Brunnhilde tried to move on to other tasks, Amora turned on her and trapped her essence inside a soul crystal, keeping her there for centuries. Amora often used this crystal to access the Valkyrie's superior physical abilities for herself, or to enhance her pawns.

  • With unknown parentage, Amora was born in Asgard and at a young age she began to learn the ways of magic as an apprentice of Karnilla. However, she was soon banished for being too undisciplined and Amora quickly decided to train herself in the ways of magic by seducing other sorcerers and forcing them to reveal their ancient secrets to her. In time, Amora became one of the most powerful sorceresses in all of Asgard and was also very adept in the use of manipulation and charm in order to get her way.

Amora's adolescence was recently explored in the " Thor: Son of Asgard" mini-series. It is discovered that from a young age, Amora has always desired Thor, although she admits that it is only because he prefers Sif over her. Because of this, Amora develops a bitter rivalry with Sif and attempts to seduce Thor in hopes of keeping him for herself. To do this, Amora allies herself with Loki and the two of them develop a plot in which they convince Sif to steal the Mirror of Mycha from Karnilla's palace to use on Thor. Once in possession of the mirror, Amora takes it back from Sif and uses it on Thor herself. Amora soon returns to Loki when he decides that they must return the mirror to its rightful place, lest their plot be discovered. However, they cannot do this without the cloth that the mirror was originally draped in and Loki shows his true colors when he states that he has no connection to their crime and it will be Amora, not him, who takes the blame when they do not return the mirror. Before Amora can chastise Loki, Sif and Brunnhilda appear, now working together, and demand that Amora revert her spell on Thor as payment for the return of the mirrors cloth. Amora quickly refuses, and the four young gods engage in a short battle, although this fight is interrupted by Thor who threatens to inform Odin himself about the whole ordeal. Brunnhilda then shatters the mirror, breaking the spell placed on him. With his mind was now clear, Thor admits he expects no less from Amora, but was disappointed in Sif because she attempted to use trickery to gain his love, although the two make up before the story's end.

  • Lady Sif and her brother, Heimdall, were born of the second generation gods of Asgard, although their parentage has yet to be revealed. During their childhood, Sif was a constant companion of Thor, Balder, and Loki. Upon reaching her adolescence, Sif and Thor seemed to develop a romantic relationship, which even Odin approved of, deeming her worthy to one day become the wife of her childhood friend. However, Loki, who grew jealous of Sif's affection towards Thor, decided to play a foul prank on the Asgardian when he cut off the golden hair for which she was renowned. This misdeed was quickly discovered when Sif awoke and Thor forced Loki to restore her hair. Loki attempted to create a bargain with the trolls Brokk and Eitri, who made the hair out of pure gold. Unfortunately, Loki stole the newly created hair before it was able to be treated with a special potion and upon placing the hair on Sif's head, it grew darker by the minute before finally turning as black as night. Sif continued to grieve over the loss of her golden hair until her parents finally tired of her vanity and sent her to learn the way of the warriors by having her train to become a shield maiden.

During her time in training, Sif still accompanied Thor and Loki on adventures, although she never forgave Loki for his cruel prank. Sif often attempted to get romantically closer to Thor and even developed a brief rivalry with Amora the Enchantress and Brunhilde, the future Valkyrie, when she was tricked by the former and Loki into stealing the Mirror of Mycha from Karnilla's palace. Amora and Loki both told Sif that she would be able to use the mirror to permanently capture Thor's affections, but Amora used the mirror on Thor before Sif had the opportunity. Brunhilde eventually came to Sif's aid when the two put aside their differences to work together and release Thor from the mirror's enchantment. Although Thor was disappointed in Sif's initial attempts to use the mirror, the two quickly made up and rekindled their budding relationship.

  • On New Genesis, Orion's savage nature quickly made him stand out amidst the peaceful natives. The dark fury that boiled within him could barely be contained, and so Orion was given a Mother Box, a sentient computer, to calm his temper. Orion's Mother Box spends much of her time trying to calm the raging soul within Orion. Orion was also taught by the Highfather to respect the Source, a training that has given Orion something to meditate on to placate his anger. He has also made many friends on New Genesis, including Scott Free and Big Barda (both of whom have escaped from a life of cruelty on Apokolips). Most importantly, Orion was befriended by Lightray, the cheery, friendly "beam of light" of New Genesis. Despite the superficial and even temperamental differences, the two are best of friends. It is the teachings and friendships that has steeled Orion's conviction when he goes to defend New Genesis.

  • When the Old Gods fell in Ragnarok, the New Gods filled the void. But this was a cycle, and the power, methodology and ultimate fate of the Old Gods remained within the New Gods.

All that is Darkseid's has been taken by him through blood and force. It is unsure how Uxas evolved into an embodiment of evil that he is now. But it is known is that two key events propelled him on his path. First, Uxas killed his mother, Heggra, to wrest control of Apokolips from her after Yuga Khan, his father, was trapped on the Source Wall in his attempt to unlock the secret of The Source. Then Desaad betrayed Drax, Uxas' brother, as he was trying to master the Omega Effect. Uxas then killed his brother, rightful heir to the Omega Effect. With power, a following, and a drive to accomplish his goals without regret or remorse, Uxas took up his God Name: Darkseid.

  • Guy Gardner was created by Gil Kane and John Broome in March, 1968. His first appearance was in Green Lantern #59.

Guy was born to parents Roland and Peggy Gardner in Baltimore, Maryland. He had a rough childhood, often being beaten by his abusive father. Gardner always struggled to please his father, who seemed to only appreciate the accomplishments of his older brother, Mace. His only escape was comic books that he collected, particularly those of General Glory. He even modeled his haircut after the General's kid sidekick.

Young Gardner tried to do many things to impress his father, including building a radio from scratch for a school project. Nothing seemed to be capable of impressing Rolly though, so Guy eventually grew tired of trying to please his father, and began a life of mischief and juvenile delinquency. He stole cars, got in fights, and got send to Juvenile Hall several times. Unfortunately, after Guy turned 18 years old, his behavior finally caught up with him. The police caught him trying to steal a car, but instead of taking him to jail, they took him to his brother, Mace Gardner. Mace had become a Baltimore policeman, and enlisted his fellow officer's help in setting his brother straight. After smacking him around a bit, Mace gave Guy a big wad of money, and told him to start acting right. This hit Guy where it counted, and he went out and got a job. He got his G.E.D., and began an education at the University of Michigan.

He graduated alongside his good friend John Henry Irons, and left the school with a Bachelor's in Psychology and Education, along with much time spent learning about engineering and playing sports. When he came back home to his family though, things were not as he remembered. His brother had been kicked from the force for the extortion of several drug dealers, whom Mace had blackmailed. He drowned himself in a local river. This drove their father's alcoholism to new levels, and he too soon died.

  • John Stewart was an architect that was chosen by the Guardians to be Hal Jordan's backup when Guy Gardner got injured and was out of action. At first John opposed the idea of him being a Green Lantern because he questioned himself as an authority figure.

The Guardians stood by their decision and John was made a Green Lantern. On his first assignment with Hal Jordan, they were to protect a racist politician, John opposed to this mission. When an assassin attempted to shoot the politician, John refused to go help and Hal Jordan had to go in alone. However, John deduced that it was just a decoy and was able to save some police officer from being killed by the shooter.

After that Hal wanted to take back john's ring and demanded an explanation and John gave it to him, saying that the guy hal caught was just a decoy. Hal would then conclude that John was the perfect recruit to be his backup and that john's style had turned him off. John would occasionally fill in for Hal Jordan whenever he was unavailable and even went on some missions with the Justice League of America. When Hal Jordan decided to give up being the Green Lantern, the Guardians promoted John to become a full time Lantern. He would meet Katma Tui, another Green Lantern assigned to teach John how to use his ring properly. The two of them would eventually marry and they would both serve as Green Lanterns for Earth.

John’s ring power would eventually be taken away by Sinestro, and Katma Tui would be murdered by Star Sapphire. Right afterwards, John was accused of murdering Star Sapphire and also accused of stealing from a nation named South Namibia. He was imprisoned and tortured, but eventually freed when Hal Jordan came and repowered his ring. John leaves Earth and journeys through space where he would participate in the Cosmic Odyssey. He failed and the planet Xanshi was destroyed, J’onn became angry at John for what happened during the Cosmic Odyssey because he was with him at the time. John became heavily depressed due to all the trauma he’s been through. He eventually forgave himself and eventually became the caretaker of Mosaic World. John had some rough times at first because he was displeased with his new assignment, but he eventually helped Mosaic build a new society.

Katma Tui would later be resurrected and she would reunite with John. However, this did not last long when Hal Jordan became possessed by Parallax and destroyed the Guardians and in the process, killed John’s resurrected wife Katma Tui. After the fall of the Green Lantern Corps, John joined another peacekeeping force named the Darkstars. With the Darkstars, he evacuated the Mosaic cities because it had become under the control of Oa. John would be crippled when he battle Grayven but would regain the use of his legs later thanks to Hal Jordan before he sacrificed himself. John would gain a new ring from Kyle Rayner and joins the Justice League. After Hal Jordan returned and the Green Lantern Corps was reorganized, Jordan and John were made the guardians of Earth’s sector. One year after Infinite Crisis, Hal Jordan reveals that John is in an undercover mission in deep space.

  • On Earth 1 physics graduate Ray Palmer would discover a fragment of a white dwarf star. Working on this discovery he devised a way to use the fragment to alter his own size and mass. Looking at him, it's hard to believe that Ray Palmer was once the tallest guy in his class. Of course, that was before professor Ray Palmer happened upon the remains of a falling star. A white dwarf star, to be exact, possessing incredible density and miraculous physical properties. He fashioned a lens from a fragment of a star, and through it focused beams of ultraviolet light. A unique factor in his genetic makeup allowed him to survive the shifts in size and mass. Ray incorporated the dwarf star material into a special costume that enabled him to change size at will. Only a small man, so to speak, would have kept this ability to himself. Therefore, Ray was determined to use his skills wherever they are needed. For example, he can "ride' electronic impulses through a phone wire into a criminal's lair. Thanks to dwarf star density, Ray can command the strength of a man many times his normal size. And shrinking even smaller, Ray can stride like a giant across innumerable subatomic galaxies. But his proudest achievements are those he has made as a member of a team of unique men and women (Justice League of America) who accept Ray Palmer with equal stature. It just goes to show you, never underestimate the little guy.

  • Caitlin Fairchild is the daughter of Alex Fairchild of Team 7, along with her fellow Gen-active half-sister, Roxanne "Roxy" Spaulding ( Freefall). Unlike Roxy, the identity of Caitlin's mother is unknown and Caitlin has never spoken of her.

Caitlin grew into a brilliant but mousy young woman. Her academic skill led to her acceptance at Princeton University, where she double-majored in computer science and electrical engineering. During her sophomore year at Princeton, Caitlin was recruited into Project: Genesis, which she believed to be some sort of prestigious government internship. One night, Caitlin began to feel ill (due to secretly being fed drugs designed to activate latent Gen-active abilities) and tried to find a bathroom. She inadvertently stumbled into a restricted computer room where her future teammates Grunge and Roxy were hanging out.

    Learning about Project: Genesis

While Caitlin was studying data about the true nature of Project: Genesis on a computer screen, a guard discovered the three of them in the room. He first attacked Caitlin, seemingly knocking her unconscious, and was about to turn on Grunge and Roxy, but was interrupted when Caitlin’s anger activated her Gen-active abilities. Within seconds she transformed from a mousy computer geek into a tall, statuesque, and super-powered amazon who easily dispatched the guard. Due to the drastic growth in Caitlin's height, proportions, and musculature, most of her clothes were completely shredded as a result (something that would become a regular occurrence during her superhero career).

  • Doomsday's "father" was an emotionless alien named Bertron, a geneticist who arrived on Krypton several hundred thousand years ago when lethal and deadly monsters roamed the world. He was obsessed with creating a creature that could survive any environment and even cheat death itself. Bertron subjected his test tube infant to Krypton's harsh landscape and its savage, hungry denizens, using the best of the surviving genes to improve his next cloned creation; this harsh process was repeated over and over endlessly, in a mockery of natural evolution. Doomsday was intended to be a perfect being, and live forever using induced evolution to defy death. Doomsday endured death from extreme weather conditions to being slain by monsters. It finally got to the point where Berton wasn't needed to revive him through cloning.Though it cost him his life, Bertron succeeded in altering The Ultimate Lifeform's DNA so that the creature could regenerate each time he was killed. Further more, Doomsday would then evolve an immunity to whatever caused his demise. Unfortunately Doomsday was subjected only to death from all things. This led the ultimate being to grow a hatred for all living things. Doomsday single handedly rid Krypton of its most lethal creatures.

Once he became powerful enough to defy Bertron, he destroyed every living creature he could find including his creator. One of Doomsday's first encounters was with Darkseid on a world called Bylan 5. Darkseid was seeking resources to better Apokolips. When Doomsday crash landed, he was attacked by Master Mayhem, long time friend and ally to Darkseid. Darkseid had assumed that Mayhem was unkillible, until Doomsday tore him limb from limb. Darkseid then challenges the beast in hand to hand combat. Neither of them make a move and are completely stalemated until Darkseid is forced to flee because the Bylan 5 was getting too toxic and was killing all living creatures. As some of Darkseid's men fled, Doomsday jumped onto the shuttle and killed the crew. He then crashed his way to the world of Khundia and resumed his path of destruction. The people of Khundia put their faith and technology upon a brave warrior named Kobald. He received enforced armor to battle Doomsday. There was no means to kill Doomsday so Kobald's job was to force the monster off the planet by rocket. Kobald died as the battle with Doomsday exploded the rocket. Doomsday would be left adrift in space. He likely died and revived to be able to survive the vacuum of space. World after world found that they could not kill him, only exile him, and hope that others would fare better. Doomsday would eventually cross the Green Lantern, Zharan Pel who didn't last long. This encounter gave Doomsday awareness of the Guardians of Oa. The monster found his way to Oa to slaughter many of the dedicated Green Lanterns. A Guardian gave his life to cast Doomsday in dimensional rip in space. This hurled Doomsday to the world of Calaton full of advanced technology that was all useless. He would spend years bringing horror to this world. One of the royal families decided to give their lives and focus their souls into one Radiant being. Radiant was unleashed to battle Doomsday. This would last a week since Doomsday had never before encountered such a being. Radiant had to destroy most of Calaton to finally put Doomsday down. For some reason Doomsday was give a custom burial by the survivors of Calaton. Although for Doomsday's crimes he would not be buried on Calaton. He was chained in a ship and casted back into the stars fromwhence he came. This is when he would crash down upon Earth and lay dormant for some unknown amount of years .

Soon after, Kurt neglects Sharon, driving her to alcoholism and starts abusing both the children. Cain was also abusive towards Charles and uses his powers to understand why he is this way, but this only makes Cain more aggressive towards him. Sharon soon passes away and a fight erupts between the two children. Charles' lab equipment explodes and both wounded, Kurt saves them both.

  • A good friend of Captain America

  • Millennia ago, on a different plane then Earth-616, Asgard was born-a magical land like something out of a fairy tale. It was the home of the Gods. All that was there was two kinds of creatures-the Asgardians (or Gods of Asgard) and the Frost Giants-a group of giants that lived outside the walls of civilized Asgardian society on Jotunheim, another part of Asgard. The earliest ancestors of Odin fought the earliest Frost Giants constantly, for the Frost Giants and the Asgardians were mortal enemies. The Asgardians proved to be stronger, winning a city. But the two remained enemies for centuries. Eventually, the role of the king of the Asgardians was taken by Odin, the immortal and omnipotent master. Odin was a strong, powerful king-but he desired a son of both Asgard and Midgard (also known as Earth).

  • Part of the Flash's original Rogues Gallery, George "Digger" Harkness never achieved the success he though he deserved. He was eventually killed by Jack Drake after he was sent to assassinate him.

When the assassination went bad, and both ended up dead, Owen Mercer, the son of George Harkness and Meloni Thawne, took up the role of Captain Boomerang. At first he joined the Rogues, but soon changed his ways. He was able to move past his feeling and help Robin with one of his cases.. He joined the Outsiders and became friends with Supergirl. Eventually he left to be in the Suicide Squad, due to Batman's restructuring of the team. He worked with the rest of the Suicide Squad to catch villains to send to planet Salvation.

During Blackest Night, Owen thought he could resurrect his father. Putting Black Lantern Digger in a pit, Owen threw people in for Digger to feed on. Digger had convinced Owen that if he took the hearts from enough people he would come back to life. After dealing with the undead Rogues at Iron Heights, the live Rogues found Owen. Seeing that he had been killing women and children, Captain Cold pushed him into the pit with his father. Digger took Owen's heart, and he became a Black Lantern. Captain Cold then froze both Captain Boomerang's and left them.

    Powers and Skills

Owen was trained in the use of boomerangs by his father before his death. Mercer also can create short busrts of superspeed, mostly when he throws his boomerangs. His speed comes from a meta-gene like Jay Garrick. He never showed any superspeed like the Flashs, but now that the Speed Force has come back he may be able to tap into it like other speedsters.

  • Bart was born in the late 30 Century and was the son of Don Allen [son of Barry Allen] and Meloni Thawne. Bart was born with his grandfather’s super speed, this came with its down falls, Bart suffered from a hyper-accelerated metabolism, this meant that Bart was aging a lot faster that a normal person for example when he was 2 years old he looked physically 12. To stop Bart from developing mental problems, Bart was placed in a virtual reality simulator which creates a virtual world that kept pace with his growth.

When it became clear that the simulator was not working his grandmother, Iris Allen decided to take Bart into the past [our present] to see her nephew, Wally West in hopes Wally would have a solution to his cousins problems. Wally made Bart use his super speed at new levels this extreme burst of speed shocked Bart’s metabolism back to normal. Because Bart spent most of his childhood in the reality simulator Bart had no concept of danger and would often act before thinking. Bart proved too much to handle for Wally so Wally passed him over to the veteran speedster Max Mercury. Max moved to , there he taught Bart about the Speed Force and how to use his powers responsibly.

  • Wally West was the nephew of Iris West, fiance of Barry Allen who was, unknown to her at the time, the Flash of Central City. Wally grew up in a small town called Blue Valley with emotionally distant parents, and dreamed of living in Central City and perhaps one day meeting his hero, The Flash. Wally was only close to one relative, his father's sister Iris.

    Wally as Kid Flash

One summer, Iris offered to let Wally stay in Central City with her. Wally gladly took the chance to get out of his hometown and away from his parents, and looked forward to the excitement of the big city. Iris introduced Wally to Barry, whom Wally thought was dull and uninteresting - until Barry offered to introduce Wally to the Flash.

Barry used some simple super-speed tricks to pull off the double identity, and gave Wally the surprise of his life. In Barry's lab, the Flash told Wally about how he had gotten his powers - a stray bolt of lightning that hit a rack of chemicals, which in turn hit him.

A bolt of lightning struck chemicals which spilled on Wally granted him super-speed powers similar to Barry's. This was the exact same way in which Barry received his powers! Wally would later find out that the Speed Force used these accidents as a cover to grant super-speed powers to both him and Barry.

Barry revealed his dual identity to Wally and a new partnership was forged. Wally became Flash's sidekick, Kid Flash. Initially, Wally wore a costume mirroring Barry's. As a strategic decision during a battle, Flash altered Wally's costume to a primarily-yellow design. After the battle, Wally chose to keep the costume, and wore it through his whole career as Kid Flash.

  • His true identiy is unknown. He is originally from Baltimore, Maryland. He grew up in an orphanage and suffered from Autism. Having a love for the sea at an early age, he took jobs working with smugglers. A group of smugglers tried to take advantage of him sexually and he killed them. It was from that moment he turned to a true life of crime.

    Criminal History

In modern times, the so-called Black Manta laid claim to the oceans' bounty of sunken treasure and other riches. Swimming in the way of black Manta's plundering and pillaging was the king of the seven seas, who had little patience for surface men with plans to sack the sunken city of Atlantis. A professional criminal all his adult life, Black Manta has spent years plundering the ocean floor of its valuable contents.

Little is known of the man beneath the Manta costume, save that he is Black. "Not that racism is my motive" Manta once said, "but since blacks have been surpressed so long on the surface, they may as well fight for supremacy beneath."

Black Manta has attempted to establish his own kingdom under the waves on a number of occasions, but each time he has been foiled by Aquaman. During this time he has assembled a number of henchmen and also has developed some bioengineered mutants he calls Manta men. And so it went for years, Aquaman drowning all of Black Manta's aquatic ambitions, until the villain made their conflict personal.

    Infanticide

Black Manta is infamous for the murder of Aquaman's son Aquababy. Black Manta placed Aquababy in a sphere and slowly filled it with air. He had Aquaman fight Aqualad in exchange for the Aquababy's life. Aquaman fough Aqualad, an event that soured their relationship, however Aquaman discovered his son was dead. Grief-stricken Aquaman squeezed Black Manta's rebreather tubes and attempted to end his villainy forever. But Black Manta begged for the kind of mercy only a king could grant. The death of Aquababy put a strain of Aquaman and Mera's marriage. This event is believed to be the turning point for the Aquaman mythology.

  • The Oath

    IN BRIGHTEST DAY, IN BLACKEST NIGHT;

NO EVIL SHALL ESCAPE MY SIGHT.

LET THOSE WHO WORSHIP EVIL'S MIGHT,

BEWARE MY POWER; GREEN LANTERN'S LIGHT!

    History

At the dawn of the universe, the population of the planet Maltus evolved into powerful and highly intelligent beings. They soon colonized a planet situated in the center of the universe, Oa . From there the Maltusians (now Oans) watched and studied over creation for millennia. After one of their own, the renegade Krona , performed an experiment that drastically altered and threatened all of creation itself, the Oans vowed to fight evil as the Guardians Of The Universe .

    Krona

Krona was a Maltusian scientist obsessed with observing the creation of the universe, despite a Maltusian legend that said discovering that secret would cause a great calamity. Krona created a machine that allowed him to see into the moment of creation. Somehow, his experiment disrupted the process of creation, with terrible consequences. The exact consequences have been rewritten over the years; originally, it was the unleashing of evil itself in the universe; later, it was assumed to be the creation of the evil anti-matter universe of Qward. During the Crisis on Infinite Earths, it was also revealed to be the cause of the existence of all parallel universes in the DC multiverse.

Whatever the exact effects, Krona's fate was the same: he was judged by his fellow Maltusians and sentenced to exist in an energy form, forever wandering the universe. The Maltusians, feeling guilty about not having stopped Krona, then argued about how to deal with the results, eventually splitting into various groups (the Guardians of the Universe, Controllers, and Zamarons). However, Krona eventually escaped this fate and tried to start his experiment all over again, since the original machine had exploded before he could finish watching the universe being created.

It was Hal Jordan who first defeated Krona so the Guardians could banish him, he was transformed into energy and sent on and endless trip across the cosmos! We see him return serving Nekron, the lord of the Dead. Krona's intentions are to execute enough Guardians, so that a passage between the living and the dead can emerge. Hal confronts Nekron alone, and calls upon all the Green Lanterns who have passed to the underworld. Nekron is defeated and Krona is forced back into the hole that he created.

  • Black Lantern Corps Oath

"The Blackest Night falls from the skies.

The darkness grows as all light dies.

We crave your hearts and your demise.

By my black hand... The dead shall rise!"

    Black Lantern Corps overview

Prophesied to engulf the universe and be an enemy to all the Corps of Light, the Black Lantern Corps is an army of the dead who have been reanimated by their black rings. Ryut, a dead world since the infamous rampage of the Manhunters, serves as the homeworld of the Black Lantern Corps. This is where their Central Power Battery is to be found, and which is fueled by the remains of the Anti-Monitor.

History of the Black Lantern Corps

    The Black Hand

In the very early days of Hal Jordan's time as Green Lantern, Atrocitus came to Earth and sought out the being who would birth the black power he had learned about through his magic rituals of blood. This being was one William Hand, a young man with a disturbing fascination with the dead. He was saved from Atrocitus by Hal Jordan and Sinestro, but he would still years later become an enemy to Hal as a villain called the Black Hand.

After Hal as the Spectre destroyed one of the Black Hand's hands, the villain was experimented on by Krolotean Gremlins and he finally realized some of the black power inside him. Hand discovered he had the ability to siphon lifeforce and sense death. Though he was still learning to understand it, he knew of the power of the black and believed it was stronger than all the colors of light. Hal defeated him, but he would later be freed of his captivity and wander out into the desert, searching for answers about the Black.

After murdering his entire family and committing suicide, the Black Hand was transformed by the Scarred Guardian into the undead embodiment of the Black Lantern Corps (as Ion and Parallax embody their own respective corps).

    The Anti-Monitor

In the Sinestro Corps War, the powerful being known as the Anti-Monitor participated in the attack on Earth as an ally and guardian of the Sinestro Corps. His armored shell was severely ruptured by the Green Lantern Corps using the Manhunters' Warworld as essentially one big grenade on him. Still clinging to life after that assault, Superboy-Prime turned on him and hurled his remains out into the universe.

The weakened and dying Anti-Monitor soared through space and eventually crashed onto the dead world of Ryut, while unknown beings noticed his arrival. The ground rose beneath him, raising him onto a plateau. Before he could understand what was happening, walls rose around him, encasing him. Thus, the Anti-Monitor became the Central Power Battery of the Black Lantern Corps.

  • Oath

    Fear vs Rage

Members of the Sinestro Corps must recite this oath when recharging their yellow power rings:

In blackest day, in brightest night,

Beware your fears made into light

Let those who try to stop what's right,

Burn like his power... Sinestro's might!

The Sinestro Corps Oath reflects their position as the antithesis of the Green Lantern Corps.

    Overview

    Spreading fear

The Sinestro Corps wields the power of the yellow light of fear out of the emotional spectrum. Members are chosen throughout the universe for their ability to instill great fear, leading to an army of nightmarish creatures wielding power rings. Serial killers, torturers, mass murderers, criminals. These are the beings who comprise the Sinestro Corps.

Their Central Battery is located on the planet Qward in the Anti-Matter Universe, Sector -1. Enslaved Qwardians are forced to construct their rings and serve the needs of the Corps.

Founded by Sinestro, the Corps seeks to bring order to the universe through fear and oppression.

  • Oath

" WITH BLOOD AND RAGE OF CRIMSON RED,

RIPPED FROM A CORPSE SO FRESHLY DEAD,

    TOGETHER WITH OUR HELLISH HATE,

WE'LL BURN YOU ALL... THAT IS YOUR FATE!"

The oath as spoken by Atrocitus, one of the few Red Lanterns capable of speech after obtaining a Red Power Ring.

    History

    The Massacre Of Sector 666

Before the Guardians of the Universe formed the Green Lantern Corps they employed a robotic army known as the Manhunters to police the 3600 sectors of space. Although a capable fighting force, the Manhunters were limited by their lack of emotion, most notably, compassion and empathy. This flaw would prove fatal when, for a still undisclosed reason, the Manhunters malfunctioned. This twisted programming would result in the Massacre of Space Sector 666; the worst mistake made by the Guardians since Krona first attempted his forbidden experiments. Reasoning that the best way to protect life from harm was to eliminate it, the Manhunters murdered billions of inhabitants of Sector 666 before they were stopped by their former masters. In the end, only five beings remained. These five christened themselves " The Five Inversions" and pledged revenge against the Guardians for the genocide perpetrated against Sector 666.

  • Oath

"In Fearful Day, in Raging Night

With Strong Hearts Full, Our Souls ignite

When All Seems Lost in the War of Light

Look to the Stars... For Hope Burns Bright!"

    History

The Blue Lantern Corps was formed when Ganthet and Sayd, former Guardians of the Universe, were banished fom Oa. This was due tothe fact they dared to acknowledge the Blackest Night Prophecy from the Book of Oa and, also, their willingness to embrace emotion. After their exile, Ganthet reveals the Blackest Night Prophecy to Hal Jordan, Guy Gardner, John Stewart, and Kyle Rayner. Later, it is revealed that Ganthet and Sayd have settled on the planet known as Odym and have created the first Blue Power Ring.

Hal Jordan leads the Blue Lanterns on a mission

Finally, in the " Rage of the Red Lanterns" plot line, the Blue Lantern Corps is revealed. The first new Corps to appear after the Green Lanterns are ambushed by the Red Lanterns. The first Blue Lantern introduced is Saint Walker, who introduces himself as Blue Lantern of Sector One. Then, you see some of the abilities of the Blue Ring. Since he was close to the ring, Hal Jordan's own ring was charged double its own max power and healed him. After saving him, Walker takes Jordan to Odym, home planet of the Blue Lanterns and their Power Battery. Jordan meets the second Blue Lantern, Warth, and also sees Ganthet and Sayd again. Ganthet and Sayd ask Hal to accompany Walker and Warth and save Sinestro from the Red Lanterns, due to the fact that he will play a large role in the upcoming War of Light.

  • Overview

Led by the powerful being named Larfleeze, the Orange Lantern Corps is powered by the Orange Light of Avarice. Larfleeze, himself, is the only living Orange Lantern. Originally, the rest the "Lanterns" are those beings killed for attempting to take his Orange Power Battery for themselves. Their greed sealed their fates, and in death, they became his. Now, any being Larfleeze consumes becomes an "Orange Lantern" and their deaths results in the creation of an Orange Power Ring.

Okaara in the Vega System is the homeworld of the Orange Lantern Corps, and it was in that system Larfleeze remained for millennia because it was ceded to him by the Guardians of the Universe. Because of the Guardians' perceived broken promises, the Orange Lantern Corps now wants more than merely what is in their borders. Agent Orange wants it all.

    History

    The Consumption

    Taking the Orange Light

Thousands of years ago, a group of five thieves raided the planet Maltus, the former home of the Guardians and their various offshoots. Among the treasure collected from the planet's surface was what was believed to be a treasure box and a map. The map, made by the Maltusian scientist Krona, promised even more treasure. The group, now consisting of four as one was lost, made their way to the planet Okaara, where the map had led them. Following the map through the Forest of Weeds, where another member of the group was lost, the remaining three found themselves in a temple. The "treasure" which the map led to was actually the Central Power Battery housing the "Orange Light of Avarice". Fixated on the orange flames, the three thieves began fighting amongst themselves to see who would wield the lantern. Soon, however, the Guardians arrived with a force of Manhunters.

  • Several billion years ago a group of thieves consisting of Larfleeze (who was their leader), Chattle, Flob, Blooch, and Turpa of the planet Ogatoo performed for a mysterious buyer what was perhaps the greatest heist ever pulled in the history of the universe. The group stole a monumental amount of treasures and relics from the planet Maltus, including a box containing Parallax and a section of an ancient map that had originally belonged to Krona.

While escaping the planet, Chattle was captured by The Manhunters but the other four escaped with both the box and the map. Upon studying the map Larfleeze, Chattle, Blooch and Turpa traveled to Okaara in The Vega System where, following the death of Flob at the hands of a giant man-eating plant, they discovered the Orange Lantern Central Power Battery upon falling into an ancient underground palace.

Overwhelmed by it's power, Larfleeze, Blooch and Turpa began desperately fighting for the power battery and as they did The Guardians of the Universe and an army of Manhunters descended upon Okaara in an attempt to retrieve the box containing Parallax. However, because of it's proximity to Larfleeze and the others, The Guardians could not get within reaching distance of the box.

There can only be one...Agent Orange!

The Guardians and Manhunters who tried were incinerated by the Orange Light of Avarice. More Guardians and Manhunters fell to the Orange Light in the midst of the chaos, along with Blooch. The remaining Guardians decided to make a deal and, once Larfleeze and Turpa learned that the Guardians weren't after the Orange Light, they became more inclined to listen.

In return for Parallax, The Guardians would give control of the Orange Light of Avarice as well as the entire Vega System over to the one who survived the struggle for the Orange Lantern, that survivor was Larfleeze. The deal was hammered out, Parallax was returned to the Guardians and Larfleeze became Agent Orange.

  • Superhero team from future.

  • With his organic parts genetically identical to Superman's, many believed that the Cyborg truly was the Last Son of Krypton restored to life after dying in a battle with Doomsday.

  • Kryptonians are a virtually extinct fictitious species that exist in the DC universe. Kryptonians are from the planet Krypton, a planet that orbited the sun Rao before its destruction.

In most of their incarnations Kryptonians have been displayed as a very technologically advanced race though their space program was extremely limited. In most of their incarnations they also didn't display any superpowers. Their red son Rao suppressed the superhuman potential that the Kryptonians had.

Very few Kryptonians survived the destruction of Krypton. Most of the survivors ended up on the planet Earth. Their numbers have been largely increased by clones, humans who have been spliced with Kryptonian DNA, and alternate reality counterparts from different Krypton's.

Recently Kal-El was able to rescue the true Kryptonian city of Kandor from Brainiac. With a total of 100,000 Kryptonians rescued and set up on Earth, the future for the species is looking brighter than it has in ages.

In the future of Earth Prime it had shown that Kryptonian survivors has populated the isolationist planet of Rokyn in a red sun solar system.
