Series I'm currently collecting

I'm relatively new to comics (I'm a DC guy - no Marvel comics; only their movies and TV shows).

Pre-New 52 I was keeping track of only Streets of Gotham and Gotham City Sirens. The New 52 gave me the chance to start collecting many, many more series. So I thought why not make a list of them.

I'm going to list pretty much every series I've ever picked up on a regular basis (even if I've dropped them at this point).

Note: I have picked up issues from other series not listed below. But I'm only including series that I regularly picked up for at least 6 months here.

So...let the list begin.

List items

  • Snyder's pretty great. I don't think he's the perfect writer (as some people seem to). And I definitely am not 100% sold on his portrayal of the Joker. Nevertheless, he's probably one of the best around right now.

  • First arc was awesome. Since then it's been progressively declining. I'm hoping it'll get better soon - I don't want to have to drop.

  • I love me my Batwoman. Probably my favorite series at the moment.

  • I had no experience with Aquaman before the New 52 aside for JL: TAS. I started reading at someone's recommendation and it is definitely living up to my expectations.

  • I have to admit - I'm not a big fan of this one. It's partially my bias that I prefer Babs as Oracle. But it's also that I feel like Simone has dropped the ball here both in her characterization of Babs and in her 2D villains. I decided to drop after issue 11 but then issue 12 was a crossover with Batwoman so I had to buy that. And 13-15 are Death of the Family crossover so I have to buy that...so in other words I haven't dropped yet but I soon will!

  • I don't like this book at all. I picked up 1-8 just for Harley (despite hating how she's written in this series). Dropped after 8. Then picked up 14 for Death of the Family...don't think I'm ever buying another issue again after that...

  • I'm getting this one in trades so I've only read 1-6 (or is it 7?). Now ust waiting for the next trade to come out.

  • Also buying in trades. No prior experience with Swamp Thing but I definitely love the series.

  • Pretty much the same exact thing I said for Swamp Thing. Also in trades.

  • I'm going to start collecting this now from 14 onwards after the writer change.
