Tales to Astonish Submissions

Got some Tales to Astonish submissions approved. Want to add more, but with a little personal overview. Have it so that they're not just basic summaries, but something that people may actually enjoy reading.

Hell, seems the only comics people here are interested in are the ones published in the last 10 years or so.

Though not sure if the mods will accept personalized type summaries. Well won't know unless I try.

Wolverine vs Galactus

No, I'm not talking about the comic issues of Wolverine 137 and 138. I'm talking about the first appearances of both.

Galactus is listed as Fantastic Four #48 being his first appearance, while Wolverine is listed as The Incredible Hulk #181 being his first appearance.

Yet Fantastic Four #48 only contains a back page cameo of Galactus, much like The Incredible Hulk #180 had a back page cameo of Wolverine. But, The Incredible Hulk #180 is not listed as Wolverines first appearance. How does this inconsistency work?

Hulk / Banner transformation question

We all know that when Banner transformed into the Hulk, due to issues of dignity that at the very least the Hulk still had his pants. Fine, not a problem. However I always did have one question that never seemed to come up.

Notice what's on his face? A pair of glasses. When he changed into the Hulk the glasses would be gone. Now I understand the Gamma Radiation made him this giant beast of a man, but did it also cure his vision as well? Wouldn't the Hulk also be near-sighted just as Bruce was?

Not only that, when the Hulk changed back to Bruce, Bruce would have his glasses back. Did that mean the glasses were part of the transformation and why the Hulk didn't need glasses as they melded into the Hulk persona? How does that work?

Answers people, I want answers!!! Telling me that Gamma Radiation turns you into a giant green monster makes sense, but come on, let's not go overboard.

Gremlins (dirty litlle guys)

So I'm watching an episode of The Big Bang Theory and Sheldon makes a comment about the rules involving Gremlins in what is obviously the Gremlins movie. And I start thinking, if you can't get Gizmo wet, then you can't wash him. If you can't wash them, this dirty little buggers will start stinking up the place. So how come he's always clean and neat in the movie.

And don't go he cleans himself like a cat, cause that will still get him wet.

Geez, why did I even bother thinking about this.... ohhh I found a Coffe Crisp, why do they call them Coffe Crisps, they don't taste like coffe. They should be called Chocolate Crisps....what was I talking about again?

Other Media, what a NOVEL idea that is lacking

So here I am, brand spanking new to this site and like the egotistical bastard that I am, I gaze upon the site like a mini Dr. Doom (I’m shorter by half an inch). And sneer contemptuously as I notice that under the Other Media section of the various superheroes (ok, just the Silver Surfer – I’ll get to the lesser comic book characters eventually) that something is blatantly amiss.

I go to my bookshelf and grab my copy of The Ultimate Silver Surfer. A short story compilation of various stories about (who else) The Silver Surfer.

How dare Comicvine fail to acknowledge your existence, I think to myself and readily attempt to rectify this gross indecency by adding my own section to the Silver Surfer page. A NOVEL section. Yes, no mere edit or correction will I sully myself with. A whole new addition to the page is the only thing worthy of my attention.

To my surprise, instead of it being automatically added, I discover that some mere moderator must first allow my addition. Blasphemy I think, but no matter. I expect not only it’s approval, but an accompanying letter of praise and gratitude for the submission (and hopefully a substantial cheque).

Well, I’m off to see what other errors and oversights this site is probably plagued with and offer my ability to rectify them. Ahhh, the burden of benevolence is unending I suppose, but I do what I can.

Superman's weakness

Seeing as how Superman's weakness towards kyrptonite originated from the old radio shows, could it not then be added that  Superman has a weakness towards handguns, but only if thrown at him?

Since in the old Superman tv show with George Reeves, whenever gangsters would shoot at Superman, Superman would stand there as the bullets bounced off him, but once the gangsters ran out of bullets, they would throw the gun at him, but Superman would always dodge the thrown gun. Therefore, it could be listed that Superman has a weakness against thrown guns.
