" @Babs:

I feel like this will read a little like dumb fan commentary but the answers to these questions are in the issue themselves

Those were Talia's paramedics they say so in Batman and Robin issue 6. When Damian was injured in Batman and Son Talia did the same thing. It makes sense for Dick to let Talia take him since that's what happened the first time.

This issue was delayed because it takes place

after Blackest Night

.

At the end of Batman and Robin issue six that was Dick it was just Philip Tan's poor face art that made it confusing.      "
This pretty much sums it up for me, too. I thought it was pretty well advertised by DC that this issue would be delayed because of events in Blackest Night. The paramedics were also said to be Talia's in issue 6, so I don't see why that was so confusing, either. The dialogue switch on that one panel was annoying, but it wasn't so confusing as much as it was disappointing that someone let it slip in the editing process.

The only Batman U book I read is Batman and Robin, so continuity questions about what other characters are doing in relation to any given issue don't even factor into my mind. I learned long ago that any time you read more than one book of any family of titles, these things will annoy the hell out of you if you let them.

I thought this was a good-to-average issue. I'd rate it 3-3.5 out of 5.

" As an art history major, I feel I have a certain appreciation for all styles of art. However, I do not believe a  "mainstream comic", as it's put, is the place for this. Also, I find his work derivative, more like something Ralph Steadman would do.  I am a huge Batman fan, have been since a little kid, and I was happy to have a re-telling of Batman, but am seriously considering dropping this title. I also am put off by all the posts of people acting superior for reading "non mainstream" comics. If reading these titles makes one act all high and mighty, I would have nothing to do with it.  "

Dude, if you believe Kieth's work is a derivative of Ralph Steadman then I suggest you look up the word derivative in the dictionary. In that vein however, would it be fair to call every comic artist of the last 50 years a derivative of Jack Kirby? If you don't believe a "'mainstream comic' is the place for this" I would suggest taking it up with the mainstream companies who have been hiring Kieth for over 25 years, as he's worked extensively with DC and Marvel over the years and that's as mainstream as it can get. I actually didn't see anything that wasn't mainstream, other than perhaps Zero Girl, mentioned here. Sandman, The Maxx (even had an MTV cartoon based on this one), and Marvel Comics Presents were the key ones mentioned and they were all quite mainstream.

Sam Kieth has a surrealistic quality to his art that can really enhance the right story. He was perfect on Sandman and The Maxx is one of the greatest stories I've ever read. The art style can change from page to page and panel to panel to reflect the mood of the moment and he gives every page a unique quality that I've enjoyed for over two decades. I can see how some people who grew up solely on the typical superhero comic style won't enjoy what he brings, but to deny his talent and is a mistake.

I've been a Punisher fan for a long time, and of course I think this is utter garbage. I can't even imagine how non-fans of the character can think this is good. Even without the natural bias against the idea I thought the dialogue was corny and a lot of the situations were just ridiculous. For the sake of disclosure, there's no way I'm buying this book; I read through it at the shop and left it (as with issue 11). Paying for this, like it or not, is casting a positive dollar vote Marvel's way and I will not support their silly ideas with my money any more.

@King Quisling:
Your real last name wouldn't happen to be Remender, would it? Because he's about the only other person who seems to think this was a good idea. This MIGHT be an okay(at best) story in ANY other Marvel book. If this is the story that Remender wants to tell I can't figure out why he chose a street-level vigilante who has been popular for over two decades (or why Marvel allowed it, for that matter).

I've been reading the Punisher books in their various forms, through good and bad (and there's been some really bad) since 1986, but this was the final straw and I've dropped this title from my pull list.

True. Also, it's just been confirmed that  Beyonce will be replacing Christian Blae as Batman in the next movie. The villain for the next movie will be Fin Fang Foom.

I would watch Kate Beckensale do pretty much anything: taxes, the wash, order food at McDonald's, whatever. Obviously Kate in the role of Catwoman would be huge.

But alas, it'd probably just go to Beyonce....... ;)

Welcome back Frank was great and Born is well-written. Ennis wrote a lot of great stuff that pretty much redefined the way a lot of people look at the character. It's hard to pick just one as the best by Ennis since so many are great in their own distinct way. Some of the older stuff that took place within 616 continuity is still good  too, though.

 I like the first Dixon/Romita arc in the original War Zone book, for instance. Actually, there are a lot of good stories toward the end of the first War Zone series, like "Barbarian With a Gun". You also can't forget Punisher: Year One, with a good story and awesome art by Eaglesham (although the inker and colorist don't do him any favors here).

@Nova`Prime`:
Exactly. Double standard in full effect. Bottom line.

And someone should really edit the story here by now to let these people who can't actually be bothered to read the other comments in this thread know that this was all a hoax and the story isn't true. It's been debunked for going on two days now and people are still reacting like it's real.

Beyonce!

Or Robert Knepper.

You know, either one.
