I've seen this mentioned a few times here and elsewhere. It seemed to me that, with her being a secret agent, using her real name and a Russian accent wouldn't be the way to go into deep cover at Stark Ind. Actually, there's a 9 page prequeal comic "Iron Man 2: Black Widow" over at Marvel Digital comics where Nick Fury tells her "We need to get you embedded right away. We'll have your new ID and your credentials all set up." So obviously "Natalie Rushman" is not supposed to be her real name.

Also, one of the characters in the prequel comic takes a look at her resume during her interview at Stark and says "umm....Natalie Rushman.....interesting name". Clearly a nod from writer Joe Casey to comics fans who may be against the perceived name change in the film.

"Scarlet Johansson is downright worthless in this film."

Well, I was liking the review up until that sentence. The qualifier "in this film" helps some, but I would pay to see her do anything, or nothing at all, in just about any film. I will not "go to the mat" in defense of many actresses, but Scarlett is no mere actress. She is so much more than "just a pretty face" as others have described her. That is but ONE of her amazing assets! ;)
(Hey, I've got a thing for Scarlett; I apologize to no one!)

At any rate, I saw this earlier today and thought it was great. I liked it a little more than the first one, Ms. Johannson being but one of the reasons.

As much as I enjoyed this issue, there's still no indication of the various elements coalescing into a single story. I'm surprised that wasn't mentioned in the review. With the bi-weekly schedule I'm sure we won't have to wait long for things to start making sense though. Overall, I say 4 out of 5 as a standalone issue; probably 5 out of 5 in a few weeks when I reread it after everything has started coming together.

The real reason? Superman, the original costumed hero, was designed to have the sleek look of the circus acrboats and wrestlers of the era. They wore the trunks over tights, the creators thought it was a good look to give him, and the costumed hero was born. All who came along after set out to emulate Superman, and the rest is history.

A lot of wrestlers wear them like that to this day. Some of it is for support, some like the look because it emulates the classic superheroes (who were, in turn, emulating the original wrestlers, thus completing the cycle).

A lot of these movies are pretty well known.

One that I rate pretty high that not a lot of people have heard of is Behind The Mask: The Rise Of Leslie Vernon (2007, Anchor Bay Entertainment).

I'm not trying to be a jerk, but does anyone ever fact-check and/or update stories here? It was originally falsely believed that Colon was attacked and robbed, but the story was quickly corrected with the truth. As it turns out, Colon injured his shoulder at home, was taken to the hospital, and in his absence his home was robbed of some of his artwork.

I posted a list like this on CBR a few month ago. Just using late 80s-early 90s WWF wrestlers Warrior, DiBiase, and Undertaker were the hands-down easy picks. I had the Big Bossman as a yellow lantern. He was a scary dude when he first debuted. What's scarier than a big, evil prison guard with a nightstick? Don't drop the soap! Indigo Tribe? I choose Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka (no one can figure out what he's saying, either). Maybe Ricky Steamboat as a blue lantern. Bret Hart seems like a good candidate for the Green Lantern Corps. Star Sapphire is a tough pick in the wrestling world; Miss Elizabeth from circa late 80s- early 90s would be as good a pick as any. To me Hulk Hogan is the closest thing to a white lantern I can think of.

That's the last I heard of it, too. That must've been almost a decade ago. Obviously, someone had picked up the rights at one point and it's been stuck in development hell since. From what I recall, Brain Azzarello actually wrote a draft for the script for that one.

I'd be interested in seeing how this plays out. Just about enough time has passed for "Valiant nostalgia" to start kicking in for the people who read thos books when they were kids, so I wouldn't be surprised to see some more of these old characters being brought back in various forms to cash in.

I don't think I've ever seen two people try to dance around key plot points and story elements for over ten minutes while reviewing a book ---until now. That was entertaining on so many coffee-fueled and spolier-avoiding levels.

And you're both right; Blackest Night 7 is great and the ending leaves so much up in the air for the climax in issue 8.

So, this is the X- title where Emma quits the X-Men and becomes a hip hop dancer in rap videos. Either that or she's facing a serious addiction to In 'n Out Burger. Storyline possibilities abound.

-- I mean, I'm not saying it's bad, it just looks a little off-model for Emma.
