Adapt a Book: The Last Days of Krypton
By StMichalofWilson 1 Comments
This Month features the end of a planet and the birth of a legend. The legendary tale of Krypton’s demise retold through spectacular storytelling. These are The Last Days of Krypton. Written by Kevin J. Anderson.
Premise

This story features everything a Superman fan would ever want. The mythological world of Krypton, the fall of a capital, the rise of a tyrant, the birth of a hero, and the eventual cataclysm that would lead to its downfall. The book features the stories of Jor-El, Lara, General Zod, and several other characters that will play a significant role during the planet’s final days. This novel had it all.
Opinion
When I first read this book, I was interested in how the characters were portrayed and was really impressed by the storytelling. Everyone knows the story, but when Anderson wrote it, there was political intrigue, a sweet love story, and a lot of sci-fi action that reminded me (in some ways) of John Carter and Flash Jordon. There’s also Easter eggs to several elements from DC comics as well.
How it should be adapted: TV Series or Miniseries
It could work. With the right director and the right actors, it could be the best representation of the Superman mythos in a long time. Hey, add in the graphics of Blur Studios and that’s an Emmy award winner right there. I would love to see it as a TV series. Great writers or talented actors could add some impressive character development.
