He doesn't need new powers really,just better and maybe sometimes more powerful uses of them.

I don't think the sonar vision or solar flare should be HIS powers,i see them more of kon-els powers.

Rebirth Superman is about family and "looking" like the classic,while new 52 was about being a crusader,being the SUPERman.so I can kinda see the emphasis of power levels different

Maybe they put superdad at Byrne levels,and Jon is supposed to be closer to later post flashpoint levels.

I miss nupermans power dominance.

New 52 Superman was unabashedly top dog,he was Hella powerful,and he was finding new ways to use his powers,while gaining new ones at the same time.he was the closest thing we had to silver age superman.we need a superman who is the obvious powerhouse in the DCU.

Nuperman is probably silver age superman,after the convergence team changed COIE things.

Keep lor younget like he was when he 1st showed up,and make on 18-19 so he can be out of school,and open to new things

Kon is the shining star in the family who is lost right now.

Imo the best origin for kon would be if Lex made a clone of himself,then added supermans dna to it.that way kon can start off like kesels origin,human clone,then add lex,which is well known,then add superman,which will mutate the clone into a hybrid,whiche is a better way of having a hybrid clone imo.

Also make his powers a fractured kryptonian powerset,as in make the seamless physical and mental abilites that kal and Kara have into 2 different powersets.physically weaker because his mental powers manifest different than theirs do.YJ show physicals,and kesel/grummett original TTK for the other half.then add in tactile senses,and TK hyper acceleration from the new 52,and you have a cool powerset that looks very different than the other SUPERs.

He could get his cocky and over confident attitude from lex,plus his ingenuity also,and get his desire to be a hero and never give up attitude from superman.

Kon-el needs a Rebirth, imo it would be a mix of his original 90s SB version, the Smallville version, and Young Justice version, even the spiderboy amalagam.

Origin- lex creates clone of himself and injects Superman's dna into it. It mutates into kon.

Personality- imagine YJ season 2s superboy with the kesel versions cockiness and humor.

Power- because he is human also his powers are flawed and have been fractured, unlike kryptonians, with their seamless abilities. He has the physical abilities of the YJ shows Superboy. He has tactile telekinesis, but ONLY by conscious effort can he use it.i say start him just jumping, not flying, we want him to grow and struggle.i would have him able to "cling" to walls like spiderman, in the reverse of how black zero can hold ppl to the ground. Senses would be a mix bag also. Superhearing , but using his TTK he can create mental pics in his head(sonar vision), infra red vision, but with TTK can feel heat(heat seeker), plus he can feel things in his very immediate vicinity(like a spider sense), and finally he can touch something and read it instantly and completely with his minds processing speed.thats a dman fine powerset, even with the limitations.

Superman should be physically and mentally powered.as in his physical powers are powerful,but get amped by his mental will.

Superman's powers are just normal human bodily functions taken to a godlike level,beside heat vision,which can be explained by being powered by solar energy,and flight which can be explained by his psionic will pushing him off the ground.

That's why kon-els powers are cool to me,he is set up the exact same way,BUT his powers are flawed and fractured.

My two favorite versions of kon-EL are the original kesel anD grummett version,and the YJ shows 2ND season version of him.what I would like is a Mashup of the 2 if he ever comes back.course the smallville version had a great origin,plus a great idea with his powers,they just went to far.

I would have lex create a clone of himself(ala smallville),inject it with superman dna,from blood left behind(ala villians month bizzaro),then after supermans death (1st death that we haven't seen or new 1)find the aura around his body,and translate it into TK (ala original kesel origin),that this time would be consciously controlled and based on some form of contact(ala new 52).this would

-make him a human clone

-mutated with kryptonian dna

-have YJ show powers and levels

-give him TTK (all the original series non mimic abilites,and yes there were tons of them inside that 100 issues)

-I would make the TK sensitive,so he has a spidey sense in a way,a touch scan,both similar to his new 52 tactile senses,but maybe slightly weaker or limited in some way,that way his YJ show like senses are needed and he isnt overpowered.

-I would keep him leaping not flying (like the YJ show),and have him able to stand,run,or walk on any surface(like spiderboy).that way his visuals will be cool,and he will have to work harder than a full kryptonian.

Pretty badass imo,and with a slightly different feel than any other SUPER.

Oh and screw the successor thing,kon needs to be the Super families nightwing,not eternally it's robin,let him grow and do his own thing.
