As you make your wish, your vision begins changing, and within a few seconds, everything within three feet becomes crystal clear.  Everything beyond that, however, becomes so blurry that no glasses or contacts can correct it.  On the plus side, your hearing becomes extra acute as you come to depend on it for awareness of anything further than three feet away.

Question, though: has anybody specified whether Gambit is wearing his trenchcoat or not?  'Cause that would make it taste worse when Galactus eats Gambit.   

You rule the Omniverse.  You are worshipped in nearly all alternate realities for your wise and compassionate rule, combined with your amazing battles against evil.  Plus, you have a great sense of humor.  Tragically, on a visit to Earth-9A4 in the early spring of the year 3571 CE, you put on a trenchcoat against the searing sulphuric acid rain (not that you really need to, being omnipotent, but you do it out of politeness to your hosts.)  You get lost in the trenchcoat, and are never seen again.

OK, you're Storm!  Unfortunately, the next day the new movie "X-Men 4: Many More Mutants" is released, and due to a conflict, Halle Berry is unable to perform the role of Storm.  Instead, S. Epatha Merkerson is cast as Storm.  Overnight, fanboyism drops by 98.4%, leaving you weak as a six-hour-old kitten.
