Pull List: From TV to Comics Edition
Comics I either own or might consider owning based on my enjoyment of the original television show.
Comics I either own or might consider owning based on my enjoyment of the original television show.
The canon prequel to the B:tVS television series.
The official continuation of Buffy: the Vampire Slayer TV series. I own this mostly in trades, but with the first six or so issues individually, as well.
Included in a Season 8 trade.
Included in a Season 8 trade.
A comics-only spin off in the Buffyverse, included here because its characters cross over into Season 8.
Follows Season 8. I plan on owning this exclusively in trades.
A spin-off of Season 8 meant to run concurrent with Season 9. I plan on owning this exclusively in trades.
Placeholder for the Drusilla comic that we were once promised: "Drusilla: Run and Catch" which was meant to spin out of "Angel & Faith"'s first volume, a.k.a. the Season 9 one.
Canonically concurrent with Season 9.
Canonically concurrent with Season 9. I'm pretty much definitely not going to pick this one up -- he used to be cool, but I'm a hardcore Buffy x Angel fan and I've hated him being involved with Buffy.
The official continuation of the Angel television series; takes place before the events of B:tVS Season 8.
Imagines what may've happened between Buffy Season 5 and Buffy Season 6 (when Buffy and Angel met up after Buffy came back from the dead) of the TV show. Seems canon enough for me, heh.
Probably not considered canon, but I like to think of it as if it is because I like the character from the TV show so much.
More about Spike and Halfrek, something I yearned to see in the TV show itself. Not sure if it's canon, but close enough for me.
I have issue #4, the Doyle spotlight issue. Probably not considered canon, but I like to think of it as if it is (takes place before the Angel television series) because I like the character from the TV show so much.
I was sorely tempted to buy this in individual issues, but honestly... By 2015, we had definitely entered the Age of the TPB for me.
Here's a TPB about the tragic Helsinki clones. Not as much of a "must buy" as the previous Orphan Black TPB.
A "What If?" issue asking the question "What if Sarah had saved Beth that fateful night at the train station?"
I've got the little book that was packaged with the Season 2 DVD set of the original Dollhouse TV series, but the #0.5 issue or Dollhouse One-Shot may not be in the Trade Paperback so I might have to purchase it separately as it has 15 additional pages of material.
Will buy this because it continues the story of the TV show "Dollhouse." :)
Haven't been too keen on picking this one up. Might eventually. Based on the original Firefly TV series.
Decided to buy this one instead of the other Serenity book because it seemed better. Based on the original Firefly TV series.
Prequel to the original Firefly TV series.
Based on the original Firefly TV series.

Based on the original Firefly TV series.
This six-issue miniseries takes place a year and a half after "Serenity: Leaves on the Wind."
A series written by Greg Pak, who also did the first Storm series.
Bought this trade paperback that collects the print edition #1-#6, which itself collects the digital chapters 1-13. Set in the world of the CW TV show.
The "Valkyrie" storyline is a team-up between Lana Lang and Lois Lane, so it's possibly worth buying.
I love Edward Scissorhands, so I definitely want to get this.
I love the Tenth Doctor, so here's another series I might want to pick up.
I bought Issues #9 and #10, because those are my two favorite Doctors. I originally just wanted to buy #10, but then I saw #9 had my favorite companion Rose in it, so why not?
There are... a LOT of Xena comic books out there, by various publishers. While I'm sure the Dynamite comics are the best, I'm just not sure at this point what I own or how much of each kind. So let's just put this down as representative of all Xena comic books.
Yes, yes, so much yes! Bought this one. I wanted an X-Files comic, but I wasn't sure I wanted to go back to buy the old ones. I was also thinking of getting a 30 Days of Night comic, so this became a must-own book. Mulder and Scully investigate vampires in Alaska! Representative of all X-Files comic books.
The official continuation of the television show.
Cole Turner returns for a couple of issues. There's also another volume of Charmed out there with a lot more Cole, but I don't know how in-continuity it is.
Cole Turner has appeared in the first four issues of this. The best of the bunch of Season Nine and Season 10 so far is Charmed S10 #4, which featured some degree of reconciliation between Phoebe and Cole as well as good art, but Cole died via true, permanent death (stabbed with the Athame). Issue #5 focused on Cole as well, as his post-death issue. So much for me getting into this series! Oh well, it was good while it lasted.
Images can be pulled for Librarians (team page) and Cassandra/Ezekiel/Jacob/Flynn/Eve (members) from each issue's individual CV page (for covers) and CBR previews (for interior pages): https://www.cbr.com/the-librarians-1/ https://www.cbr.com/the-librarians-2/ https://www.cbr.com/the-librarians-3/ https://www.cbr.com/the-librarians-4/
There was an Animorphs television show back on Nickelodeon, though the graphic novels are based on the books rather than the TV show. I would like to get this sometime if there's a collected edition someday. The art style is a little too cartoon-ish for such dark subject matter, however.
Although he was a comic cat first, I really grew to love him in his TV show and movies. I got the first issue of Kaboom!'s ongoing series.
"That was a hoot!" So Marvel had a Rocko's Modern Life comic?? What?? Hah, probably won't bother to hunt it down, but I love the television show, so I'll include it on this list.
The official continuation of the TV show! I don't own it, but it looks neat.
What a great show! The comic probably doesn't live up to it...
Good Lord... why? Lol. Still, loved to enjoy the show with my dad, so here it is.
See Quantum Leap.
This show was best with Jerry O'Connell.
And yet, I continued to watch it until it went off the air.
Despite the fact that the plot eventually involved evil alien overlords.
Yes, I said "evil alien overlords."
I'm actually pretty sure this particular volume wasn't that great, but the Boom Studios stuff (listed below) should be good.
1993 Malibu volume. I don't actually have any of the 1990s Malibu volumes, but I put them here because Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, the TV show, is just that awesome. I might pick up something from 2000+, who knows.
1994 Malibu volume.

A twelve-issue prequel to The Dark Crystal movie. Technically, it's a prequel to the Netflix series, which is the prequel to the movie.
A twelve-issue sequel to The Dark Crystal written by Si Spurrier.
