Characters with ridiculous names

I've never been able to figure out why some characters sport names that make me cringe in disgust. Perhaps it's some sort of tradition from the golden age of comics, where naming a character Hericane would have been seen perhaps as witty and original. Or maybe it's supposed to be 'edgy' and 'cool', and I'm just totally missing the point. Maybe it's unintentional. Either way, here's a list of characters I've stumbled across with ridiculous names.

I noticed you mentioned the 'y' in Merlyn.  You're right about that being an actual legitimate spelling ot his name.  It's more in line with the origina Celtic spelling for the legendary character.

Okay...  LOVED this post.

Love Glove?!  LOL!!! Still can't stop laughing at that one.

The worst name I've seen lately is "Sack."  WTF?!

I've been wondering why many female characters feel the need to name themselves SHE-(guy name)...  or (guy name)-girl...  really?!?!?

Thor-GIRL...  She really couldn't do any better than that?
She-Stilt-Man... Do I even need to comment?

Since secret identities are becoming a thing of the past, how about everyone just use their first name?

How about names that have NOTHING whatsoever to do with a hero's powers.  Something random that just throws the villains off...

Table
Sock
DVD

it could work.

@Timandm: If they don't add the femenine prefix, how will anyone know that they're female? I mean, besides their tastelessly large rack.
