Origin
"Shoto" Nanahara's life had never been simple. He lived in a world full of city-breaking superhumans, each capable of uncanny feats and with highly variable desires and moral philosophies. They had become modern gods, unknowingly worshipped by the unspokenly lower-class inhabitants of the world, everyday life forgotten as the people were absorbed by fascination with the new deities they'd been forced to accept. And for the unnaturally intelligent Nanahara? They represented something more, something sinister. They signaled to him that his life was over, his role to play in the world having been little more than a bug in a city of normal men. Without power, he was nothing, a statistic to be forgotten along with the rest of the majority of Earth. But with power, he could transcend, join the legion of modern gods amongst their platinum-plated heaven, to be worshipped and feared alongside them by the rest of the world. For Shoto, it would become his destiny to join them, and eventually, break the cycle that enslaved the rest of humanity by exposing their new deities' inherent corruption. He would save the world from its own ignorance, becoming a superhuman idol himself...to destroy all the rest.
Personality
To start, it is generally agreed upon that Split is insane. The voluntary alterations to that removed nearly 87% of his organic body tissue have likely had even more detrimental effects on his psychosis, an acute hatred for metahumans being quite evident. His mental state stems from his philosophical ramblings, his assurances that nobody without power matters. With supermen in the streets, he realized, the rest of humanity was equivalent to little more than insects, pure statistics to be lost in disastrous clashes between super-beings and their adversaries. Elevating himself through a mysterious benefactor's technology, he seeks to join the ranks of these modern gods and destroy them from within. And yet, there is a reserved, gentle nature about him, concealing the abyss full of pure frustration and borderline nihilistic observations.
Powers
Cybernetic Endowments: Shoto's entire body, save for his head, has been entirely replaced with extraordinarily advanced technology, designed by none other than Percival. A variety of extranormal assets have been applied to his body, advancing its capabilities far beyond those of normal men. His internal functions are powered by an isolated trifusion core, lined with vibranium imported from Venezuela. This experimental fusion core generates powerful electromagnetic lines, manipulated by his outer shell in order to provide him with a means of movement. Moreover, every single one of his joints have been designed to interlock and detach with the assistance of said electromagnetic pulses, a borderline electrogravitational force working to keep him intact. In addition to granting him immense strength and durability, it allows him to extend the segments vast distances, as well as survive a multitude of attacks. His vision and senses have been amplified beyond those of normal men, with advanced computing systems designed by Percival contributing to his entire operating system. Keyed into his brain, he can control any and all of these systems as naturally as he would be able to move his body without them. The only organic part that remains is his head.
Chassis: Nanocarbon mesh exterior, surrounding dense polymers with titanium-laced cracks. Sensory amplifiers locked directly into his nervous system allow him to "feel" with his extremities. Nanocarbon mesh grants him a lifelike, warm touch. The chassis is easily repaired within his personal maintenance dock in Tokyo, Japan, accessible only to him and his benefactor. From the neck down, he is entirely robotic; a dense outer layer surrounds his organic head, protecting it from trauma and pressure whilst simultaneously linking it to his body. Every joint is segmented, and can be finely manipulated by the magnetic field, granting him incredible flexibility.
Power Source: A trifusion core, locked tightly within a Venezuelan vibranium shell, powers the entirety of his internal functions. The core's energy is converted into incredibly strong electromagnetic fields, finely manipulated and contained within the chassis so as to shape his movements and grant him extreme versatility. These magnetic fields are amplified and directed, granting him the ability to control metals in his surrounding environment as well as keep his form intact. These fields are controlled through the neurological link, their use as natural to him as any other action.
Operating System: A neurological link directly into Shoto's mind provides him with instantaneous access to various systems located both within and without his body. He can neurologically uplink to various sources, such as the internet or hard databases, to download and / or upload information, or take control of a certain unit through hacking. While his reflexes and technological prowess are uncanny, it is notable that his actual brain has remained relatively untouched.
Sensor-Systems: Shoto's sensory components are highly acute, his audio-receptors able to pick up movement in a 360 degree radius around him in varying capacities. His optic sensors can zoom in or out in order to mark targets from afar, keeping track of them whilst simultaneously informing him of hazards in his surrounding environment. A Heads-Up Display provides him with constant information, and allows him to manage his inorganic components with a mere thought. His audio-receptors instantly translate any words sent his way, and provide him with adequate responses based on his desires.
Organic Components: From the neck down, Shoto is entirely mechanical, with only his head remaining. His skull has been injected with trace titanium, and his eyes have undergone treatments that prevent them from being disturbed by staring consistently into a HUD mere millimeters from his retinas. His vocal cords have been replaced with reverberating wires that move in sync with his EM core, simulating his voice. He no longer needs to eat or breathe, and can go without sleep for extended periods of time. His brain is telepathically resistant, but is not beyond psychic intrusion. His lower spinal cord has been bonded to the OS computer at a molecular scale, interfacing directly with his cybernetic components.
Magnetic Manipulation / Ferrokinesis: Shoto can effortlessly extend and manipulate the vastly powerful magnetic fields that emanate from his core, shaping and directing them in order to move objects that contain metal. Through sheer instinct, he can influence the polarities of a magnetic object, striking it with electromagnetic energies and bending it to his will. Through this ability, he can lift massive objects, or craft projectile shards of metal and direct them at a foe. It also grants him intimate knowledge of metal objects in his vicinity, "feeling" them constantly through his abilities. His helmet aids him in this endeavor, adjusting his outputs and analyzing his surroundings for optimum performance. Potential applications of his power include:
Flight: If surrounded by metal, Shoto can repel himself, hovering overtop of any metal surface and pulling himself along at high speeds. He will often move along the paths of pipes underground, or metal supports in buildings. He can ascend alongside any metal structure, hovering nearby through the use of his powers.
Ferrokinesis: Shoto can lift, bend, and hurl metal objects with great strength and accuracy. He has acute knowledge of metal in his surroundings, able to influence it without so much as moving a muscle. He can repel metal objects in his vicinity, using this ability to easily disarm foes. He has been known to simply dismantle the weaponry of opponents with a wave of his hand, casually removing weaponry from the equation. He is most known for using his ferrokinesis in conjunction with Sai, attacking from a distance with hovering weapons.
Adhesion: Shoto can adhere to metal objects with his magnetic powers, locking himself onto them with great strength and obviating any attempt to dislodge him.
Self-Dismantling / Extendable Limbs: Shoto's eeriest application of his powers is to dismantle his own robot body for mere seconds during combat, allowing attacks to slip through the holes created in his body, or striking from a distance with extendable appendages. Every joint in his body can be detached and finely manipulated through his power, making him a formidably unpredictable close-quarters combatant as well.
Abilities
Uncanny Combatant: While he lacks any sort of formal martial training, this disadvantage is offset by his unique cybernetic appendages and techniques, sheer lethal grace mixed with elusive augmentations turning Shoto into a deadly killer. His intuitive combat skills revolve around frustrating an opponent through a mixture of dodges and quick strikes that eventually wear them down, his speedy limbs darting in and out in order to make deadly incisions with his specialty weapons: Japanese Sai. Despite having never experienced human training in the use of said weapons, his proficiency revolves around his cybernetic abilities working in conjunction with his regular reflexes, his digits responding exactly how he wants and enabling him to wield the weapons as casually as he would any tool. Additionally, his strange style makes predicting his attacks incredibly difficult, and his ability to re-assemble himself should his frame be destroyed making him a difficult opponent to account for and defeat.
