I've lost faith in Slott, I never thought I'd say that. I'm actually sad to be saying that cuz I love the way Slott writes Spider-man. How can Marvel allow them to do this? Literally every single fear I had for 700 seems to be happening. I just hope this series won't last long and they'll bring back the original. As a Spidey fan since I was 3, this is the biggest disappointment of my life; and I lived through One More Day!!!

As long as Peter stays Spider-man and they don't go overboard with his "darker tone", I'll love this. I still want Spidey to make wisecracks, and I want them to treat him like an adult. If he ends up killing every criminal (even if it was something stupid like stealing a pen) just cuz he's "darker". Maybe if they give him less tolerance for murderers/super villians and if they make him kill only when necessary, that would be "darker" without going to far and treating Spidey like the adult that he is. Not the dumb, easily infuenced 15 year old he used to be.

This is the guy built web shooters at 15, the guy who has proven to outsmart even Iron Man, and the guy who managed to make a stealth suit that makes the wearer completely invisible. Last time I checked, Bats didn't invent anything like that. And stealth is his department.

Cures a flesh eating disease in minutes...

Hank Pym, himself, states that Spider-man is smarter than him...

And I didn't think Spidey was good at prep until he made this baby in Ends of the Earth...

This suit can detect Chameleon's specific heart beat, can give Spidey special vision that will let him know about Mysterio's illusions, electrical harpoons for Rhino, can find Sandman's "Queen Bee" sand grain where his thoughts are, is electricity proof for Electro, has magnetic webbing that can cut transmissions, and I even heard it gives him 100 ton class strength. DAMN!!! Spidey's no good at prep my ass!

Spectacular Spider-man was the best Spidey show ever. It gave a sweet, beautiful feeling to newcomers and Spidey fans alike. Because the show made a bunch of shout outs to Spider-man comics (covers, story arcs, etc.) I thought I could call out everything, but it surprised me in imaginative ways. Also the writing, voice actors, villians, plot, and everything else was just beautiful. Whether you were new or always been a fan, the show entertained you.

Unlike Ultimate Spider-man, that treats its viewers like a bunch of dumbasses that will point and laugh at everything they "want" you to think is funny. Spider-man is given a crappy voice actor, the character itself is ruined for comedy purposes, and it makes Spider-man look like the worst superhero Marvel has when IMO he's the best superhero ever made. It fundamentally destroys me as both a Spidey fan and a fan of good television. Even a fan of keeping my brain cells; I swear I feel stupider everytime I get a glimpse of the show (for example, I just said stupider :P).

People make the mistake of saying Spidey's kryptonite is Ethyl Chloride. Which is a very huge exaggeration, cuz pesticides hurt everyone. Inhale that crap and you die. In fact, the fact Spider-man was exposed to it and DIDN'T die means that his healing factor is still in effect once its been sprayed. So overall, actual human beings are more vunerable to the pesticide than Spider-man. The Spider-Slayers just used as a weapon against Spidey and thanks to his Spider DNA, it effected him in more ways than a poisionous gas. Its not his "kryptonite" that would imply that Spidey gets weak getting near the stuff, he can very well still fight even if he's in a whole room of the stuff.

And even though fans HAVE made comedies about Spidey committing suicide with Raid (lol). In reality, no, it wouldn't do a darn thing but annoy him. :P

I think Spidey IS the best (My username = no duh :P). I personally don't think Superman should be in the top 5 of anyone's list (he's top 5 in my list of worst superheros :P). He's very generic and bland. He's a stereotype hero who just saves everyone just to save everyone and he has little to no real character. Most people only like him cuz of how powerful he is. Batman is definetely my second fav hero eva.

But c'mon, Spidey whoops his butt in battle and character wise traits. I respect the guy who's had so many tragedies and sad experiences (probably more than Batman) at such a young age and still cracks jokes more than the grown man who has absolutely no sense of humor on the job after just one tragic event that happened to him when he was a kid. :P

I personally say, the actual future of Spider-man will be determined after 700 comes out. Once we know the story, we'll have a good idea about whether its likely they'll go back to Amazing or not.

@spidey 15: Why thank you. :) Was hoping that story arc wouldn't just sound awesome in my head. And yeah, every character does need low points, otherwise a too perfect character is uninteresting *cough* Superman *cough*. :P

This was what it was, a realistic Spider-man movie. Yes, some of you have a problem with how Peter acted throughout the movie, but that's pretty much how any teenager would act in that situation. He's not gonna be all like "I'm gonna avenge Uncle Ben by fighting crime." He's gonna pissed at himself and pissed at the guy who killed him. Which is exactly what he did, it then evolved into him realizing what he has to do when he saved that boy. I admit though, I think he should been there for Aunt May a bit more. Ignoring her is the very reason Uncle Ben is dead, he should at least hug her or something, she's all he's got and the same the other way around. But as a major Spidey fan, I had a lot of emotional parts in this movie, especially Uncle Ben's death and the "I'm Spider-man" scene. This was my dream Spidey movie, I just wish it'd been more of a comic movie than a realistic movie, but if it had everyone would've bitched that it was copying Raimi's version. The only scene that pissed me off was the Crane scene, from when Spidey gets shot to the end of the crane swinging. Why?

1) Spider-man gets hit with a bullet. WTF. He dodges fucking pistols in his face and several cop snipers shooting at him at once (just like the real Spider-man), but the thing that gets him is a point-blank shot. Ugh.

2) If webbing the wound fixes everything, why didn't he do it earlier. He would've gotten there much faster had he just *THWIP* and done. (It wouldn't bother me that much, but after he webs the wound, he swings like nothing happened.)

3) Throughout the whole movie he swings between buildings no prob, then all of a sudden an entire passage of buildings is "impossible". Swinging and dodging is what Spidey does best! That's what he's good at! That's like if Batman couldn't sneak up on a deaf person or if Flash couldn't catch a bus (Flash would never use a bus but its just an example :P).

4) It doesn't make sense that a city-wide evacuation is happening and the guy who's son was saved by Spidey manages to convince all these crane workers to help Spidey. Don't get me wrong, I love it when Spidey has his hard work payed off by the citizens of NYC. But Spidey was too new, those guys probably had families to get back to and their just like "Oh fuck them, we gotta help this Spidey guy cuz one guy says so."

5) There's a damn helicopter that lights Spidey's way and follows him....WHAT?!?! Why doesn't he just tell the helicoptor pilot to fly over Oscorp and Spidey gets a faster, easier ride.

In my opinion, the movie would've been perfect in my eyes had it not been for this scene. But besides that, I thought it was completely what I've been waiting for. Only other thing I would change is that Lizard needed more character development, the final battle was too climactic, and Spidey should keep his damn mask on!!! Seriously, the only guy I can think of in Marvel movies that doesn't have his mask taken off is Hulk, AND HE HAS NO MASK!!! But trust me, if they could put the actors face on Hulk for more face time without pissing off people, THEY SO WOULD!!!
