Leonidas (300) vs. Aragorn (LOTR)

Fight takes place in a forest in Middle Earth, where they fought the last battle of 'The Fellowship of the Ring' in the films. Standard equipment in terms of swords shields etc. No back up and nothing mystical. Just good old fashioned hurting each other.

Aragorn.

I think Aragon wins, but Leonidas is more badass

Posted by HammerTron

I'll say Leonides because he lives to fight.

Just realized the OP says nothing mystical so no Anduril.

Pretty sure Leonidas would win this with a slight majority.

Drive is not enough here. Aragorn outclasses him in combat. He was trained by the Elves. Who in Middle Earth are experts of the blade.

Leonidas was a hugely skilled fighter, I see no feats from Aragorn that suggest that he would be better.

Aragorn battled and held his own on weathertop against The witch king. solo.. Leonidas can say no such thing.

Oh yeah. The guy that was killed by a feat less female warrior and barely trained hobbit. Huge feat that.

You are only thinking film friend. Aragorn is more than capable of killing Persians. She may have been featless for the film. She was trained by the Rohirrim who are very skilled themselves. She only won that because she is a woman though. And it is a huge feat. He was very Powerful. She also killed his fell-beast alone.

with all due respect, in the film version, the witch king was laughing at her because she was an untrained woman and got cocky. He wasn't complacent fighting Aragorn.

very tough fight, but leonidas wins this since he defeated an immortal enemy and with his 300 men killed tens of thousands of enemies.

They were hardly immortal.. I think 1 on 1 Aragorn wins this. He has training from superior beings.

no there was 1 enemy who was "immortal" he was like 2.5 meters tall and leonidas killed him, but i suppose by immortal they meant that he cannot die of age.

leonidas is tougher and more skilled his spear which he threw from like 150 meters could have killed xerses(or whatever his name is) and he barely even reacted to it, meaning leonidas' throw is practically superhuman.

doesnt matter who trained aragorn he is still a human.

Hmmm, good fight... This could probably go either way....Slightly leaning towards Aragon though, due to his age and experience over the Spartan King.

Leonidas is human as well. Aragorn demonstrated superhuman stamina and strength and durability throughout as well. Remember his tumble from the cliff. Or when the mountain troll was trying to crush him. I believe Aragorn typically has alot more armor than Leonidas does. I saw leonidas fight no one with the experience of Aragorn in battle.

Leonidas is great with his spear if he has one but Aragorn will have more range with a bow. If it comes down to a physical brawl with no weapons im giving it to Leonidas as he is the stronger of the two.

As I said it's standard gear, Leonidas will always have a spear and Aragorn often carries a quill on his back, so yeah they will both have long range weapons on them, if either one can get a lethal hit on each other from a distance it'll all be over...

yeah, if it comes to range attacks arows will win aggainst spears, and i agree with you that in a physical fight leonidas will win.

ranged attacks: aragorn wins

physical fight: leonidas wins.

so i guess if aragorn can avoid a physical fight and concentrate on his ranged attacks he should win

Is anyone taking into account that Aragorn's middle age sword will cut Leonidas's bronze age swords to shreds. As hardcore as the Spartans are, they are limited by the tech of their era.

Leonidas dies in slow motion.

Edited by ParagonNate

I've said it on another Aragorn v. Leonidas thread and I'll say it again, Leo has no feats that put him anywhere near Aragorn in any category.

Speed: Aragorn was fast enough to smack a thrown knife out of the air while he was dazed from Lurtz hitting him.

Skill: Aragorn has dueled near immortal beings (Ringwraiths) as well as having more years of combat experience than Leonidas has been alive. He has kept up with elves in combat, who are superhuman as seen in the Battle of Five Armies. He was one of the few people to make it through the entirety of the Battle of Pelennor Fields without so much as a scratch. He was cutting down droves of orcs and Uruk-hai with ease, considering that the Uruks were making the same three day run Aragorn was, and were outpacing him for most of it, I think it's fair to say that they have above human physicals.

Stamina: Aragorn ran for three days straight without stopping while chasing the Uruk-hai who had captured Merry and Pippin.

Durability: Aragorn fell from a cliff into a river when he was dragged by a Warg. He was also stepped on by a troll attempting to crush him and got up seconds later and was fine.

Equipment: Aragorn's Iron/Steel weapons will chop Leonidas' gear to pieces, also Aragorn is actually wearing armor. He's durable enough to survive hits from trolls without armor, although it did ko him, with armor he was able to not only survive but fight back while being stepped on by an armored troll.

Leonidas is simply outclassed, no matter what fancy whirly twirly slow-mo fighting he tries to do Aragorn will cut him down.

Aragorn kicks a helmet at him and although this will cause him to break a toe the force of the kick should be sufficient to kill Leonidas. Aragorn bellows in victory and pain while limping off the battlefield.
