My interest in superheroes probably began with Batman The Animated Series (followed by the other superhero cartoons that I watched, including the X-Men and Spider-Man cartoons that also came on back in the early 90s when I was growing up). I then naturally wanted to read the comics that my favorite superheroes came from. I started with the few comics that my brother used to occasionally get, and then I started collecting the Marvel Vs. DC comics that came out in the mid-90s. I became hooked on comics instantly and started collecting as many as I could, both new ones from my local comic book shop, as well as what back issues I could find at my local Half-Price Bookstore. I collected hundreds of comics from that point until about 2002, at which point I stopped collecting for various reasons. Then, 8 years later, I found myself in Borders Bookstore looking at the graphic novels. At that point I slowly got back into comics, first buying the occasional graphic novel, and then I started going back to my local comic book store to buy monthlies again (though I mostly collect graphic novels/trades now).
