I love comics; I read them all the time, and I collect them. However, the issue becomes cost. As I live in Canada, the price for comics is higher than it would be in the US.
The problem for someone with a limited income - such as myself - becomes the question of affording the comics. And when you can't afford them all, it becomes a question of choosing which ones to buy and which ones to pass on.
As such, I love getting my comics from the internet. It allows me to read everything I want, and still have money to buy food.
Ok, WTF is up with the interaction between Rahne and Shatterstar? Did anyone else find it... odd?
Also, bets are being accepted as to whether Feral is alive again, resurrected, an illusion, or an agent of Hel.
Any takers? My choice is the last option, I think.
I adore speedsters. Of all the powersets, I think this one has the highest percentage of my favorite characters.
Jean-Paul Beaubier, Tommy Shepherd, Bart Allen, Wally West, Pietro Maximoff, Jesse Quick, Mas, Menos, Gabriel Cohuelo (who isn't technically a speedster, but presents as one), Nori Ashida... notice a pattern?
I will have to say more about this, but nothing is coming to mind atm.
Has anyone else noticed how addictive these quests are?
Maybe it's just my O.C.D., but I really want to get these all done! (well, the ones I'm able to, anyways)
So, I've been reading X-Men for as long as I've read comics (my first ever comic was X-Men #120 - who knew I'd become such a JP fan?)
Either way, I've been reading comics for about 16 years now (I started at age 10) and have worked my way through almost every X-team comic out there.
One that that's always struck me is how gender neutral Iceman is when iced up; I mean, yes, we all know he's male, but there is never any real concern of him not meeting the PG ratings.
Running around in skimpy Speedos is one thing, but as the females wear about as much fabric as he, proportionally, I see no issues with it - I think more of him as a perpetual swimmer.
However, there is an issue of X-Men Unlimited (#9, released in August 2005) where we see an iced up Bobby with nipples.
So, as this is my first blog post here, I"m not terribly sure what to say.
Typically, I'm notoriously bad at maintaining these suckers, or even knowing what to post....
In part, I'm doing this to complete a quest, in part because I'm tempted to explore the way this site and system works.
We shall see how this works for me, and I will go from there.
Therefore, consider this my (highly convoluted) manifesto:
I will be random; I will be sporadic; and I will be entertaining (if only to myself, and no one else)
Huzzah!
