I can't even imagine him being dead until the end of the arc itself. I mean, what are they going to do with Wolverine, Savage Wolverine, Wolverine & X-Men if they kill him off for more than a month? Are they going to cancel everything with his name in it? Is everything going to be retitled until he comes back? Hell, Wolverine solo and WatXM just got revamped less than 6 months ago. Marvel puts so much emphasis on Wolverine that I don't believe they will kill him for more than a month. And with the amount of titles with his name in them, it would be bad for them to do so.
I mainly stick to Marvel and Image because that's what I grew up with. I don't follow DC too much anymore because every time I find something I like, it gets canceled (except Green Arrow, which is awesome btw). My pull list is dominated by Marvel and Image but I'm also picking up at least one title from every major indy publisher (IDW, Valiant, Oni, Dark Horse, etc). In the end, as long as its a good read and you enjoy it, you should buy it regardless of the publisher.
