Concerning the moral quandaries of Mr. Carter, everyone, please shut the fuck up. Judging a deeply disturbed man why he didn't transport a most likely terminally malnutritioned girl after taking a photo (and after not only chasing away the vulture hounding her, but watching her for some time afterwards) is an impossible and futile task.

  Sigh.

Conan kills a bunch of fools while he's under psychic attack from a wizard. Age: 40. Way beyond his prime.

Conan kills two frost giants. His age: 16. He has been chasing Ymir's daughter for hours after suffering a head wound that crushed his helmet in a battle.  The one he's wearing he pilfered off a corpse, IIRC. EDIT: My mistake, he didn't pilfer that one. He's actually still wearing it. In the second scan you can see the caved in section of his helmet. It's the sentimental one with the horns and whatnot that he could from killing a bull as a kid (more on that later).

Conan kills the Midnight God. Age: 40. Fought through an army of serpent women who have superior reflexes and strength to men. Fell down a very big hole in the ground. Isn't feeling well. Isn't happy.

Lesson: F**k GoW's Hydra. Conan is a human, but he is not written as human. With the same upgrades as Kratos he could just as easily clear the series, but he wouldn't have the same emotional hangups as the protagonist, obviously. Conan's not stupid. He has vices, such as drinks and women, but if you think he's dumb then you haven't read much Conan because otherwise he wouldn't be appointed leader of armies that were stacked against superior odds and win (the entire Black Colossus storyline, where Conan was made head of an army against an army that seriously dwarfed his and had an extremely potent wizard at it's helm). Or how he became king of Aquilonia and lead it's entire army, dozens of thousands strong, across the known world fighting every other army on the damn map just so he could kill some bastard Stygian (Conan and the Midnight God). He was born on a battlefield, son of a blacksmith and successful warrior and tactician who taught him about swords and every weapon under the son from childhood. Conan fought wolves in close combat and won, broke a bulls neck as an adolescent, and as for climbing up Chronos? You kidding? Conan climbed DOWN a bottomless abyss after being slapped around by psychic, thousand year old magic masters as a teenager. I see no reason why he couldn't replicate the same thing, except going UP, and at full strength. Can he beat Kratos? Hell yes he could beat GoW1 Kratos (every time, I don't know, but he's got good chances). He couldn't do anything to 2 and 3, because he was amped to high heaven in those games but Kratos isn't exactly a smart fella (those puzzles are trivial and his lust for battle screws with his mind far, far too much, as evidenced how his army got it's ass kicked against the barbarians in GoW1, or how he failed to recognize the village where HIS WIFE AND CHILD LIVED AND THEN PROCEEDED TO MURDER THEM). In addition, Kratos is a wildly inconsistent character. At the same time that he can rip monsters in half, it takes him serious effort to push a box around or rip the head off a years old skeleton. Gameplay, perhaps? I'D SAY SO. That being said, he is a badass and I give some respect. Kratos is alright. He just reminds me of a fan-fic that got way, way too out of hand and somehow got turned into a million dollar game series.

I can't believe I let this stupid thread get me out of retirement. I knew I should have turned off my PMs from my email account.

Bitches, I'm out.

And by "bitches", I mean "loving comic friends and such", of course.

Huh. Well, uh, this is awkward?

Never thought I'd say it. But, I'm.....you know, leaving.

Three years. It's been a long time. A really long time. But I think it's time for me to go.

Uh, see all of you guys later? I don't know if I'm coming back or not. I'm in a really weird place in my life right now.

Thanks to all the staff and mods for making a site that's given me countless memories over the course of my teen years. It's been a good run. A really good run.

Bye.

Oh, I completely agree, which was why Ghost Rider was total trash for me. I just really liked X-Men. I loved X2 and X3 was tolerable. I mean, I guess it's since I'm more of a casual X fan so I can't pinpoint things like out of character acting or whatever or maybe it doesn't mean as much to me as most people do. I'm generally really forgiving with adaptations. I dunno.

I actually don't really have a disappointment. I guess my biggest would be Origins: Wolverine, since that was a pretty awful movie and I hoped it would be good but it wasn't. But I really expected it to be terrible, and expectations override, like, hope so it doesn't really count.

Goddamn it.

Really? I thought it was exactly something like Magneto would've done. Make a bunch of higher-up government officials in the world into mutants means either significant improvement for mutantkind or bad things happening to humanity.

Then again, I haven't read an X-Men story, in, like, god, many many years so I'm out of touch.

I have many, many nostalgic memories of Final Fight, whereas I always found the arcade versions of the Double Dragon games to be kinda slow, personally. I could be thinking about the wrong game, though.

I'd say that Cillian Murphy is probably a stronger actor overall, but I find Liev Schrieber to be more entertaining. He's really fun to watch.
