You mean those "anti-heroes" such as Captain America, Commissioner Gordon, Wonder Woman, and every single Green Lantern?
The No-Kill Code is not some line in the sand that prevents a person from drifting over toward villainy, no matter how much Batman tries to insist it. There are HUNDREDS of examples of good, noble heroes who kill the villain in order to save the lives of innocent people.
Batman doesn't claim that cops that kill are evil, his no kill code is for him and his family. The point is that Batman and his crew are supposed to be better than the rest, hence them being you know, heroes? They can do things that no other person in Gotham can do. They are good enough and trained enough to solve situations without resorting to lethal force. Also you kind of need to realize that Batman isn't exactly the picture of sanity, dude is kind of pathologically obsessed He realizes that if he killed one person, what's the difference in killing another and so on. Normal people obviously won't spiral like that, but Batman ain't normal. Most non metas that put on capes have some pretty severe mental baggage. And why would Batman ever advocate for him or his robins to kill when he has seen first hand with Jason what can come of it?
I'm glad Tynion is getting a big push from DC, but damn did I love Lobdell's writing on this book. Very bittersweet for me. Glad to hear we are getting a new artist though.
Aliens from another galaxy come to DC Earth and challenge the world's heroes to a high stakes game of hoops, with the fate of the world at stake. You are assigned the job of choosing a hero for each of the five positions, and a coach to design plays and make adjustments. Who do you choose?
Restrictions: If you choose a super powered hero they are not allowed to use their abilities (no flight or superspeed etc.)
For example; I would make Nightwing my pointguard, as he would put the good of the team ahead of himself and know best how to get the rest of the team involved. Roy Harper would be a great three point sharpshooter and so on.
Loving the podcast and loving the guests. Keep up the good work.
