I have to say, haven't picked up Thunderbolts since the Mach V days and Baron Zemo but - may give this team a try. (Or, read the first issue but no more, I'm rather fickle :P)

You have to have them on an equal playing field, just on the opposite end of the spectrum. I will name a classic example of rivalry between a Protagonist and Antagonist: Holmes and Moriaty. They're both incredibly clever and think in a similar way yet, one played the hero and the other was the villain. I think Batman and Joker do this well. This does bring back to G-Man's idea of similarities is what makes it interesting to us as readers. Joker maybe crazy but he has rather elaborate plans and Batman is a big planner in fighting crime. (And having a rich background connecting the characters work too, Doom and Richards for example).

So we've seen designs for Alan Scott, Jay Garrick, Huntress, Batman and Superman. There's been a lot of theories and I kinda got thinking: actually, what if this is a real parallel Earth? As in, Jay is definitely comparable to Barry and Alan is comparable to Hal instead of them being well...They're normal selves. It'd be sad if this was the case and I'm not too sure how much evidence you can actually gather currently, but I'm really starting to think this is a definite parallel, not just another Universe so we can have the existence of the Justice Society of America. There's been a lot of talk behind it being more violent if I remember correctly (I haven't seen articles properly in a very long time) so perhaps this really is offering a mirror feeling. This has been the case before, we've seen character such as Power Girl and Supergirl. But I'm actually starting to think that JSA will lose its own feel and be a prominent copy of Earth-1 (which is what I'm calling the normal DCnU currently).. Perhaps there will be seven members to begin with on the JSA and all them shall be Parallel versions of the JL. Like that JLU episode with the Justice Lords (except not as Cyndicate-y). Passive thought, I may gather more evidence to follow through with this theory later on.

This is one of those shows that'll have interesting development. Also, I don't get fans hating. TV shows are usually aimed for kids so I really don't think they'll do it in a certain way for adult fans.

Most of DC

DC even made Green Arrow a metahuman

When did they do that? Because wooooaahh that's a silly idea.

And I agree with everyone who has said it's just about context within being overpowered. Depends who's writing who at the end of the day. It's like Batman, he can get up from insane situations one arc, then a writer change and he'll be struggling to get through a fight. I think the difference with someone like Superman is that writers are use to him being really super-duper overpowered so it does become a continuing trend? But that's just my bowl of cherries.

If I was working for Marvel: Amadeus Cho. - I'd make a title almost similar to Mr. Terrific DCnU but give it stronger shoulders to stand and have a variety of characters guest star and take part in several strange but cool adventures involving the 8th Smartest Man in the World. An Amazing Spider-Man Arc, it'd probably be nothing special but I've love to give it a little seal that would remain in its history for a while. Then Defenders would be an ongoing series I would write that until someone told me to stop. (And maybe Avengers & Hulk, but it'd all depend on what had happened previously in the titles).

If I was working for DC: Captain Marvel, I'd have with a lot of the Marvel Family Cast. JSA with most of the latest incarnation. A Detective Chimp mini-series. I'd love to write DCU presents with a lot of different characters. I'd also like to write Metamorpho, that'd be cool. (And a new Superman's Pal run, I'm currently on my issue 3 of the scripts for that...Not that I'm a Jimmy Olsen super-fan or anything...)

Thank you so much! It's nice to see someone having to gone to the effort and go through my posts, it's made me feel a lot more comfortable writing stuff. However; (and I must point this out) you called Hank Pym a wife beater. He hit Janet once in 616 under mind control, which is horrible yes but I refer to Mr. Fantastic and how he hit Susan after losing Valeria I think it was? And we don't question his behaviour. Though it's this idea of "well, that wasn't OOC for Reed" and so it's slipped under. Sorry, my inner love for Hank Pym always makes me go off on one about that!

And due to lovely, constructive comments I will be carrying on writing stern opinion-articles about Comics and such things!

The Dark Knight? REALLY?! That's an absolutely terrible comic. Not even Finch's art can save it.

Well, it's Batman. Of course it sells.

Hello Comcvine! I'm back on your busy forum streets and hoping to paint it my special sunset auburn colour once again. My old email locked out and various other things went wrong so I lost my original stuff (I was originally known just as "Ulyverse") but now I'm back! Can't wait to get started once again! :D
