We don't seperate ultimates out, rather, we'd like to see people describe the differences of the Ultimate characters on the main character pages. The reasoning is that we want this place to be friendly to people new to comics and only have one spider-man page, not 20. It also very much helps in searching and editing the site because there would 30 times more errors if people had to choose from a list of spider man's when attaching them to issues or teams.
There's a decent amount of stuff you can do with Markdown (check the style guide) that will allow you to break out the character descriptions into sections. Also, that's not stopping people from creating concepts, objects and story arcs that relate to ultimate specific stuff, we just don't want character specific ones in there.
We have an ongoing debate as to whether extremely different characters like Spiderman 2099 should be seperated. We're kinda listening to what people think on that one. We're open to ideas about all of this, obviously, we don't want to force a system down your throughts.
