Recent Drawings: X-23 (Colored)

Hi there! Long time no see! I know I haven't posted any of my art lately but don't worry, I have not stopped! Problem is that I have not scanned over 10 drawings I have worked on for some time now. Callit laziness or lack of time but I have not posted in the Artist Show-Off forums forsometime but I promise I will post a lot soon. As for the art below...

Back in October of last year I posted a drawing of X-23 (Right) I made because I didn't like the cover of X-23 #1:

"I was re-reading the first issue of the new X-23 series and realized that as visually appealing, color-wise, that the cover is, I don't like it. So I came up with my own...
My goal was to get the innocence and beauty that I think Laura is but also a menacing feel to it. I think I got the innocence but I am not so sure about the menacing part. You will all have to be the judge to this."

Most of you know that my strenght is not coloring. Usually Psychomunkee inks and colors my drawings (as seen here) but I decided to give it a show myself. Before you give your opinions please understand that I have taken no course and I am aware this is not inked/colored correctly but I am attempting a few stuff. Opposed to what I have done before on other of my drawings I worked with tones on this one.

Like I mentioned above, colors are not my forte but I still wanted to share this with all of you... Give me your opinions, but be nice! ;)

Lookin' good Sora!!! ^_^

I love it! It's complete, realistic shades, no gaps, and stays within the lines. Nice work! And I like the little shade behind to make her stand out a bit more :)

Not bad at all!

I agree with Kitty about the shadow behind her, it really does kind of make her pop out at you. That's a neat trick I might need to try myself. :D

Very nice :D
I also love the shadow at the back! ^__^

Welcome back brother!
Glad to see you gracing the pages of the art thread again. You're sora-ly missed!  he he he

You did promise to grace the Polaris contest yeah? :-)

Anyway, your take on Wolverine's clone/daughter is great and even the start of playing with colors show the potential at hand. You have the aesthetics to begin with.

@sora_thekey: great to see some of your stuff again buddy, we missed you over here :)

Nice start to the coloring. You've got setting the base down well, which is the first phase in a coloring job.

Are you working with a program that supports layers? With this base and some new layers you'll be good to go adding a little tonal shading to give it light.

Can't wait to see those other 9 pics you got to scan too.

@War Killer: @TheGoldenOne: @TheGoldenOne: Thanks!

@xerox-kitty: @M.S. Feather: @rogue_mar1e: The shadow was a last minute thing because the piece looked empty. Thanks!

@IcePrince_X: Thanks for the warm welcome... Yeah! I am working on that Polaris also came up with a counter for your Ursula!

@tonis: Actually, I don't think the program supports layers...Not sure, willhave to figure it out. Thanks!

Laura is beautiful here. You captured her shy nature. Nice work. :D

Hey there Sora, good drawing, nice natural pose to her. I like it!!

I don't know what happened to the zoom feature but it cuts the drawing in half and can't scroll down to appreciate the rest of it.
I know they are probably trying to improve on this but I hope they are working on a fix. It's happening on many of the images.

Like the drawing! The pose is pretty hard to pull off but you did it! Congrats!

@B'Town: That's what I was going for! Thanks!

@DavidR: Hopefully the bug has been fixed and you can see the full thing. Thanks.

@Tchokes: Good to hear I pulled it off! Thanks!

Here goes:
-I like this kind of colouring.
-I didn`t know that she has blades in her feet. Well, now I do.
-It`s good that you made her seem normal.
-Looks nice.
Did you do this on Paint, or something?

@kfhrfdu_89_76k: Glad you liked it. She does have blades in her feet, she just doesn't use them very often. Normal? Thanks I guess. Thanks again. I did this on Corel Draw X3
