Leaked Concept Art of SHIELD Helicarrier for Marvel Movie(s)

SHIELD's presence in Marvel Movies leave a lot to desire for. We all know that SHIELD's garage has more weaponry than the US Army and the movies have yet to divulge into all of those secrets of SHIELD.
Russian website, SpiderMedia.Ru, recently posted two concept art images of SHIELD's most notable artifact; The Helicarrier.

No Caption Provided
It appears to be a CGI screenshot of the Helicarrier design from different angles, along with comic book references.
The design is by artist George Hull (Who also worked on the Matrix sequels)
Better than the Triskelion?
Better than the Triskelion?

"Originally it was supposed to appear in the movie " Iron Man 2", but over time things changed and the idea was shelved for later.
Probability of the aircraft carrier in Joss Whedon's new ( Avengers) movie is very high, given that representatives of Marvel Studios and Kevin Feige want to make a big surprise for everyone and build up an aircraft carrier to the top of San Diego Comic-Con 2011."

What I can understand from the rough translation (Thanks to Google Translate), is that last year's Hall of Armors, and Odin's Throne this year at the Marvel Booth will be nothing compared to next year's scale recreation of a Helicarrier! Can't  Wait for that!

It was inevitable for the SHIELD Helicarrier to appear in a Marvel Movies. Question is, what do you think of the Helicarrier in the Avengers movie? Is the Helicarrier too big an object for the big screen?
Might we see this big piece of machinery before the Avengers movie? Perhaps in the Thor or Captain America movie?

@Jotham: For some reason repulsors seem to be too futuristic. Even for the standard Movie Universe SHIELD...

Hopefully they don't go with propellers, that's just kind of ridiculous. They could use giant repulsors or something.

@sora_thekey: you're right, the only way to pull it off in Cap would be at the end in a 'flash forward' kind of scene. Thor would make more sense then.
Assuming they are working with logic.

That's what I thought...
The Avengers movie is not coming out until 2012... why show this 2 years in advance? Although that if it appearing in the Thor or Captain America movies than this thing might steal too much attention from Thor... Plus since Cap is a period movie, it doesn't seems logical to have it in the movie... unless it appears after the credits...

It's pretty cool.  It has a very retro look to it, like a cross between a U-Boat & a helicopter :)

If Cameron's Avatar design were to be used for this it would fit. When I saw the movie I totally said to myself; "Helicarrier rip-off!"

Interesting.  I prefer a design with an exaggerated top deck which invokes a stronger feeling of air-craft carrier (long recognized as the flagship of the modern naval fleet and the etymology of the Helicarrier's moniker) and with enormous engine shaped thrusters or props (similar to the Dragon in Cameron's Avatar) over helicopter blades (which, here, seem comically small like a bumblebee).

It's ok i always thought of it as more wide than tall, kinda looks like a giant torpedo XD but it does look very military-esque so it works
