@G-Man: How did you feel Mark Strong did playing Sinestro?

Purely based on his appearance and knowing how scary he can make a character, he was probably my favourite of the casting choices for the movie.

I've kind of thought more or less the same thing about all of this for a while now, but there are a few things to consider.

First off, the very notion of dividing the universe into equal segments breaks the very notion of the universe to begin with. IT'S INFINITE. It goes on forever, therefore there should be an infinite amount of sectors, and an infinite number of Lanterns.

I've never really been clear on whether the sectors are meant to represent areas of the universe as a whole or just to divide our galaxy, (having read stories that would indicate both) but even if it is just our galaxy that's being protected, that raises a whole new issue.

I find it just a wee bit conceited of our favourite omnipotent blue aliens to call themselves "Guardians of the Universe" and then lend their power and support to just one little galaxy. What about the rest of the universe? Do they not matter? Hell, even if each of the sectors covered an entire galaxy, that would mean only 3000 Lanterns for the whole Universe. 3000 Corps Members to police the very definition of infinity. My mind is fraying just trying to wrap my head around that.

Finally there's the Earth. Nevermind that there should be more Lanterns per sector to help keep the peace, how exactly is it fair that one planet, (planet not sector) ended up with four of them?

It's not even like these are just four random schmoes of the Corps either, Kyle, Hal, John, and Guy are four of the powerful and successful Corps members to ever wield the ring, Hal himself being universally recognized as the greatest of all.

These are all things that I've come to just accept as part of the Green Lantern mythos, but it's still something that makes me scratch my head every once in a while. Especially when universe-spanning story lines take place and these exact questions are either dealt with or avoided.

Still though, something to think about.....

I think having to watch the love of your life die or disappear for only to reappear years later would be an incredibly traumatic experience for anyone.

Cyclops has had to deal with that experience repeatedly. That's gonna seriously mess you up, no matter who you are. That, plus all the other ridiculousness that goes along with being a member of the Summers family (Vulcan, in particular springs to mind), not to mention all his trials and hardships of being the X-Men's leader (especially the falling out between him and Xavier, his adopted father figure in Corsair's absence), I think Cyclops has just hardened himself into what we see now because someone needs to make the decisions that nobody else can, or at least that's how he's justified himself.

With mutant's on the verge of extinction he's convinced himself that this is the kind of person he needs to be to get things done. Whether or not that's the case is still up for debate.

I am in no doubt whatsoever that this is precisely what will inevitably lead to "Schism"

I imagine if this ever came to pass, it would play out very much like the movie "In Bruges".

For those of you that haven't seen the film, the story centers around a hit man that accidentally kills a young boy while on a job, and his subsequent attempt to deal with the soul crushing guilt he feels as a result.

Although, considering why the Punisher began his crusade in the first place, and his absolute intolerance for anyone who breaks the law, if this were to ever happen don't think his psyche could take it.

Which would then lead to one of the most skilled and deadly assassins in the Marvel Universe with a shattered mind and near infinite levels of self-loathing. Honestly, I can't think of anything more dangerous.

Scarlet Spider has always been my favourite part of the clone saga. His Spider-Man design was really cool too.

I really hope we'll see some more of Ben as Scarlet Spider in the upcoming Spider Island and his reappearance in the Marvel U in general.

I'm really glad G-Man decided to write this.

This is something that I hadn't even though of when I voiced my fears about the repercussions of Batman Inc. back when the first issue came out.

I was completely focused on Batman ruining the fear he inspired by going public, and about the new "batmen" turning out like Jean-Paul Valley, I hadn't even considered the danger facing Wayne Enterprises Employees.

I'm very interested to see how this all plays out, and if this recent development will affect Bruce's decision about the Batman Inc.

I'm gonna have to go with the power construct suit. For a human like Hal, Guy or Kyle a tailored suit could also work, but what about Kilowog? There would have to be some kind of Oa sanctioned Corps tailor for every new recruit.

Getting back to the issue of comic costumes verses movies, this is actually a pretty key point for film and television adaptations.

Part of what bothered me so much about Superman Returns (among many other things) was the costume. In the comics, we can draw in all of the individual muscles and tendons to truly emphasize the heroes' incredible physique. Most of the time heroes are drawn with costumes so tight it actually looks more like they just put on some differently colored skin rather than a costume. But no matter how tight your spandex are, we in the real world simply don't have fabric that fits that tightly, nor, I don't think, would we want to.

It worked out alright with Spider-Man's suit because of the varying colours and web pattern to distract from it, but Superman's costume is essentially a giant blue body glove with red briefs. In the comics it's all fine and good because it is wrapped around Superman's ridiculous physique and the costume becomes iconic and inspiring. The one that Brandon Routh wore however just couldn't show that and the end result ended up looking, well, silly.

Ryan Reynolds' GL  Costume is the only one we've seen thus far that truly shows the level of detail and musculature that we see in the comics, and it's an interesting change. I'm very eager to see Henry Cavill's Superman costume especially with the "modern re-telling" spin on the movie.

I'm still just trying to wrap my head around what this time-line is supposed to look like.

If this movie is supposed to take place in the '60s and Havok is in this movie, then that puts some very serious constraints on when the first three X-men movies and Origins could have taken place, assuming of course that Cyclops is still his older brother and they haven't been disconnected completely. Not to mention the fact that Mystique looks to still be in high school, and because this is Azazel's first big screen appearance I think we can assume that Nightcrawer has yet to be born, that would make Havok significantly older than Nightcrawler and by extension (same assumptions in place) Cyclops. This was most certainly not the case in X2.

There were rumors abound for quite some time regarding the possibility of time-travel being somehow involved and, with the inclusion of characters like Havok and Azazel, (two people that have very serious and strong connections to two of the already established movie characters) I'd say that's looking like a very real possibility.

I never would've called this in a million years, mainly due to the fact that I personally wouldn't have chosen to include someone brand new like Catwoman, as Bruce's new love interest.

The only thing in either of the preceding movies that even vaguely points to Catwoman is Lucius mentioning the plated bat-suit's effectiveness against cats. At least if they had gone with someone like Talia Head (al Ghul) we've already been introduced to her father so there is already a connection with the rest of the story. Selina Kyle on the other hand has had neither mention nor appearance thus far. This makes me worry as to how much of the new movie will be devoted to simply explaining her appearance. Considering however, the acting skills of Anne Hathaway, and the amazing vision of Batman that Nolan has shown us so far, I'm sure we'll be in for a few pleasant surprises.

As for the choice of Bane as the villain, I am very excited. I don't know that I would've chosen Tom Hardy, but Bane is something that I can definitely see working. Considering the way the last movie ended, with Batman on the run after taking the fall for Harvey Dent there are any number of ways that Bane could enter the scene that would not only do the character justice, but also fit well with the story.

My biggest concern is that of Bane being simply waved away as a brute, and that we'll not truly see the cunning and intelligence he displays in the comics.

I'd love to see how they beef up Tom Hardy too.
