I've been away from comics for a while. This looks interesting. What's going on with Batman and these sidekicks? Are they superpowered or something?

I'll see the movie myself and make up my own mind. A lot of people decided to hate this movie years ago so I'm not taking any of the comments seriously and I'm not reading any of the reviews so they don't affect my viewing of the movie as it is.

New Frontier is my favorite DC comic.
