I've attempted to get into Superman titles before, picked up a few issues here or there, just never got really into it. With my luck, I was probably always picking the crap. I've always wanted to like Superman and I'm a huge Batman fan and love when Bats and The Boy Scout meet up. I'm also a huge fan of Scott Snyder. I read Batman, Swamp Thing, Talon and I loved Severed and his run on Detective Comics. So when I heard that Snyder was taking on a Superman title (especially with Lee) I was very excited and I will be picking it up and I really do hope Snyder writes a Superman I can enjoy.
Well, there's only one way of knowing if you've been reading Super-crap or not: What have you read from Superman?
DC is responsible for women in refrigerators, so I would have to say no.
The concept existed way before that, tough.
All that happened is that a woman died in a gruesome way in a Green Lantern comic book, Gail Simone noticed, coined the famous term and then made a list of comic book women whose deaths or injuries had been used as plot devices.
So really, the only thing DC is responsible here is filling one third of that list and giving Simone an idea for a name for this kind of stuff.
How long did it take you to read it? I have all three volumes and I feel like it will take me forever to read.
You think that's bad? Even the new edition doesn't have Knightfall complete (or rather Knightquest). DC, once again, didn't include The Search.
I knew it wasn't complete. I was flipping through the first volume trying to find the issue where Bane shoots Riddler with venom darts and it wasn't there. So, disappointed that DC decided to not include that issue since it was my first comic that I owned.
Yeah, they never included that stuff. Did they include the issue where Bane wrecks Killer Croc? They skipped that too the first time around.
I'm really surprised they didn't include The Search though. It's really important stuff, even more so than Knightquest IMO.
