I have been going to conventions for a while now and just only recently started getting sketches from my favorite artists as well as new artists whose style caught my eye. I've been running with the theme of video game characters, which has led me to meet some artists that appreciate games as much as I do. So in no particular order I have the list of artists who have contributed to my game character sketch collection.
Morrigan from Darkstalkers and Mordin Solus from Mass Effect 2/3
I really enjoy his style, but he isn't really a gamer. So I had to think of something. Luckily I had references for Bayonetta, and since I couldn't think of anything more ridiculous for her than the game she already comes from. I thought having her in his signature style would be the way to go.
Chrissie is seriously one of the nicest artists I've met. I commissioned her to draw Princess Peach riding a Bullet Bill because I had it in my head that a WW2 era pinup would be the way to go. The end result was better than I imagined.
I told him at FCBD that I have a game character sketch collection and if he'd be interested in doing a Kratos for me that I'd pick up at the Heroescon. He seemed really into the idea so I put myself on his commission list. I didn't have a chance to come up with something ridiculous for Kratos to do. When I picked it up at the Heroescon I was blown away. It was a seriously pissed off looking Kratos. It wasn't ridiculous at all, but I still like it.
