Whether wearing the mask of the Green Goblin, running the Avengers as the Iron Patriot, or just being himself, Norman Osborn has got to be the biggest threat Spidey has faced (that wasn't cosmic at least).

Brilliant and relentless, Octavius consistently proves that he is a huge threat.

Proving that you don't need super powers to be a threat. Being imaginative and ruthless are enough. Plus, who doesn't love the fishbowl?

As Venom, Eddie has been both one of Spidey's biggest foes but at times a stanch ally.

While not the most powerful or smartest of the web-head's foes, for whatever reason Schultz has a place here on my faves list.

While I did enjoy Mac Gargan's stint with the Venom symbiote, the Scorpion will always be a formidable threat in my book.

When you have an impressive list of foes, they are even more of a threat when they team up with each other.

I personally think that Sandman is not given the credit he deserves as a powerful foe and interesting character. I also really enjoy him as a heroic character too (he was a reserve Avenger and a member of Silver Sable's Wild Pack).

The original Hobgoblin was much more than just a Green Goblin knockoff. He threw everyone off track with his true identity. A plot that turned out to be decades long in being revealed.
