I’ve just read Watchmen for the first time, I know shame on me, and I couldn’t get one idea out of my mind, so I decided to post it here. On page 27 of part 12, Dr. Manhattan and Ozymandias have a final chat before Dr. Manhattan leaves earth. Here Dr. Manhattan states that he might create some  humans for his new world. Could he do this? And more important, does this make him a God? I know he has some amazing powers, but this is a big thing.

When I started thinking about this, I started noticing more and more hints suggesting that Dr. Manhattan is a God like creature. The most obvious one is of course the whole no-clothes thing.
Are there more people out there who noticed the same thing?
I really loved Watchmen, but I can’t help but think this might be on the edge. I’m not religious or anything, but still…
I would really like to know what other people think about this.

What is it with trailers these days. You get to see half of the movie in the trailer in order to get you into the cinema. The best example of this is Iron Man 2.

In the trailers for this movie it seems you get to see all of the awesome stuff, just in order to get you all hyped up. I’m not against the use of trailers in order to get you to the cinema, but they should not give up all of the cool stuff. You should watch the movie and be amazed by all of the awesome action, instead of finally finding out why Black Widow knocks out those guys, or what Iron Man and War Machine are fighting back to back. I’m going to watch the movie tomorrow, and I’m afraid that the scenes I just spoke of won’t thrill me as much as they are supposed to, just because I’ve already seen parts of it.

I understand that moviemakers are having a hard time fighting all the illegal downloading, but I hope that they soon learn that this isn’t the answer. A trailer should tell you what’s the story is about, which actors will be playing in it and a small, teasing, piece of action. The result of these trailers is that I still have no idea what the main plot is going to be about (is it Whiplash, Tony’s medical condition or something else?), I’ve seen most of the action, but I have to admit I have whose playing in it.

I hope that they will come to understand this and do it right with the trailers of Thor, Captain America, The Avengers and, off course, the new Batman movie.
