Ludo Kressh Respect Thread

The role of this thread is mostly to serve as a supplement to my Naga Sadow respect thread, but will also be to highlight some of the more obscure and underrated ancient Sith. Credit goes to I_Like_Swords for the scans.

If you found this thread interesting, check out my Naga Sadow and Marka Ragnos respect threads.

Respect Ludo Kressh:

"I fight for the Sith Empire, Naga Sadow… you fight for yourself!"

Power

Ludo Kressh is one of the most powerful Sith Lords in Old Republic history:

Ludo Kressh is, along with Naga Sadow, the strongest of the Sith Lords who attempted to gain power after Marka Ragnos's death, despite the fact that all of the Sith Lords were powerful:

Many powerful Sith seek to gain control of the Empire. The strongest of these are Ludo Kressh and Naga Sadow, who both command impressive bands of followers from among the Sith.

At the gravesite, the two strongest Sith opponents confronted each other: Naga Sadow, eager to expand Sith powers; and his rival Ludo Kressh, content with the existing borders and loath to risk a folly that could potentially cost them everything.

Ludo Kressh is the most powerful of the Sith Lords who opposed Naga Sadow:

The most powerful of the Sith to oppose Naga Sadow's rise to power was Ludo Kressh, a conservative among the Sith Lords, who believed that the Sith Empire must grow strong within itself before looking for new foes to conquer.

He is repeatedly regarded as a powerful Sith Lord:

When Marka Ragnos, the Dark Lord of the Sith, finally expired after a century of iron-fisted rule, two powerful Sith Lords were in a position to claim his title as supreme ruler of the Sith Empire.

Factions have arisen, and two powerful Sith Lords vie for control of the stagnating Empire. Naga Sadow and Ludo Kressh, rivals for the coveted title of Dark Lord of the Sith, gather supporters and prepare to launch a civil war that could very well destroy the Empire.

Ludo Kressh's tomb is a potent nexus of dark side energies powerful enough to cause strong Force visions/hallucinations/illusions to appear before anybody who walks within it. Affected individuals include the Jedi Exile, who sees various Illusions (Malak, Bastila, Kreia and the rest of the party, Revan, etc.) and hallucinations of her past, and is unable to discern the difference until the end of her trials, actually "fighting" the Illusions:

Ludo Kressh's power is so great that over a millennium after his death, his life force still haunts the halls and passages of his tomb as "a great evil power":

Buried under a mountain of rock at the back of the Shyrack Cave, this ancient tomb conceals a great evil power. Ludo Kressh, Sith Lord, is buried here, and his life force still haunts the halls and passages.

Force Knowledge

Ludo Kressh is highly knowledgeable in the Force, possessing knowledge of numerous Force powers. These include Absorption (Dissipate Energy), Drain, Drain Knowledge, Battlemind, Sith Sorcery, Sith Alchemy, Fear, and so on:

Sith Sorcery

Sith Sorcery or Sith Magic is a Force-oriented practice that involves a wide spectrum of arcane and esoteric powers.

Ludo Kressh created the Gauntlet of Kressh to protect his son, Elcho Kressh, more well-known as Kressh the Younger. The artifact was imbued with the powers of Ludo Kressh's Sith Sorcery, such that it would render its wearer incapable of being touched or harmed by all those he does not allow to touch or harm him. Even simply holding it would prevent death in extreme circumstances.

Kressh's Gauntlet proves powerful enough to electrocute and hurl back Lucien Draay, as Haazen, its wearer, does not wish for Draay to touch him. Draay attempts a lightsaber attack, but the attack is blocked, his lightsaber is destroyed, and Draay is electrocuted and hurled back once again.

After stealing the Gauntlet from Haazen, Lucien Draay orders a fleet of Hammerhead-class Cruiser warships to unleash orbital bombardment at his location. While Haazen perishes, merely holding the gauntlet is enough for Draay to survive the bombardment, although he remains scarred because he only held the gauntlet, rather than wearing it:

The Gauntlet is also capable of killing multiple Jedi with a single burst of Lightning:

Dark Rage/Force Protection/Speed

Dark Rage is a Force power that allows a dark sider to increase his strength, speed, resiliency, and resolve. Force Protection is the passive (and sometimes active) enhancement of a Force sensitive's durability to varying superhuman degrees. Force Speed is the passive (and sometimes active) enhancement of a Force sensitive's speed to varying superhuman degrees.

Ludo Kressh is capable of shattering a Sith sword by smashing it onto a surface. Because Sith swords are durable enough to withstand lightsaber strikes without fracturing or breaking, this is an impressive feat:

Telekinesis

Telekinesis is a common Force ability than affords the user the ability to alter and distort reality around them.

Upon being angered, Ludo Kressh destroys a huge statue with merely a clenched fist:

Combat Skill

Ludo Kressh duels evenly with Naga Sadow:

Ludo Kressh is among the ancient Sith Lords, whom Kreia claims are vastly superior swordfighters to the Jedi and Sith of her age. Specifically, she claimed that the Exile (at the time, at least) and herself were "children playing with toys compared to the prowess of the old masters".

"If you were to face an ancient Sith Lord in combat, you would learn that we are as children playing with toys compared to the prowess of the old masters."

Source: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords

Chris Avellone, the head writer of Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords, has confirmed that Kreia's predictions are accurate:

"Kreia is setting the stage for what we imagined KOTOR3 to be, and as we had a sense for the power that we wanted those Sith Lords to reveal, her predictions are accurate. And yes, she had a number of Sith holocrons that she had read (the ones on Telos)."
