I haveto admit that I really like the design of H'el. I hope he gets to be a mayor superman villain in the coming years. Big Blue has not enough great villains.

@Sammo21 When Joker is on his game, he is the most dangerous, non powered villain in the DCU. Easily. As somebody who fights Batman all the time, he has to be more than just formidable. @Scott_Lobdell Love your work on Superman and Red Hood! Really hope you stay on for a long time to tell the stories you wanna tell. Like the new direction for both characters. Its fresh and appreciated.

Cool. I love the animated features too. Under the Red Hood is my clear favorite. Dd you see the Mask Of The Phantasm one, from 20 years ago? Highly recommended, if you only saw the newer stuff.

Thanks, man. I kinda feared to bore everyone to death, but I thought it would be silly to just post "Hi", or something in that vein. Comics are a very important thing in my life, so I kinda wanted to explain why, to the people who probably understand how I feel, you know? Now I am here and ready to geek out.

I hate the fact that DC takes soooooo loooooong to get their trades and hardcovers out. I am a trade waiter, since I really don't have the space to collect floppies and I love the look of my hardcovers in my shelves (the more oversized, deluxe, absolute, ultimate the collections are the more I love 'em), so it is really painful for me to wait this long. For example, with Batman Inc. The first HC came out six months ago, it ended with the Leviathan Strikes issue. Since the new volume is currently at issue five, I believe, it will take at least another seven months for all issues coming out. On top of that DC will THEN take anything between another six months or a year to get the second hardcover out. So, all in all, I have to wait for one and a half, if not two full years for the continuation of the story. Same thing with Court Of Owls. I will get the second hardcover in march 2013, I think. I don't even want to think about how long I will have to wait to read Synders Joker arc. Aaaaaarrrrrrgghhhh!!! I mean, sure, I could buy the issues, but I want the hardcover for my collection and I don't have the money to double dip. Also... Marvel releases their trades like a week after the arc has finished, so it would definately be possible to speed that up. To be honest, this is one of the big reasons I am back reading a lot of Marvel stuff, which I didn't for a few years. At least with Marvel I get four Uncanny X-Force hardbacks released in one year! Well sadly with Marvel, I often only get four issues in a hardback and that sucks too. Another thing that bothers me... page count reduction. I mean, come on!!! 20 pages per issue??? Really? I never knew they did that until I read my first few New 52 trades and the whole rythm felt kinda... off. Anyways... I love this site and love the reviews and podcasts.

Hi, guys. I am Marius from Germany and I read comicbooks since I was eight years old (20 years ago now... Gosh I am getting sooooooo old). My father died of cancer a few weeks after my birth. When I was eight, I discovered a huge box in our attic, with his name on it. In it, there were a lot of american comic books, all in english, with all kinds of superheroes. I think I maybe started to read because it was something that brought me closer to this man I never got a chance to know, but maybe it was only for all the colorful characters and the action. Anyway, since I am German, I kinda learned the english language by reading comicbooks, even before I was being taught english in school. I basically never had to do that much to get a good english grade, which was a very nice side effect comics had for me. I always enjoyed Batman the most. I love everything Batman. All animated shows, the Nolan movies (did not like the Burton ones because of his killing streak there and I won't talk about the Schumacher ones), videogames, Kotobukiya statues, prop replicas etc. So, yes, my living room looks kinda like the batcave;-) My favorite Batman arcs are Morrisons run, Laphams City Of Crime, Snyders current run and the classics like Year One, TDKR etc. Apart from that I love Superman, John Constantine, Cyclops, Frank Castle, Cable, Flash, Green Lantern, X-Men, the Justice League, Swamp Thing and a lot of Vertigo stuff. I kinda prefer DC, but in recent months have been dragged back into the Marvel fold, thanks to Remenders Uncanny X-Force and Aarons Wolvie and the X-Men. So far, I love it here on the Vine. Hope I find the time to have a few interesting discussions and find a few likeminded geeks and geekettes. I hope I didn't ramble too much.

Hey guys, another question from me. This time about Batman. In the current arc Death of the Family, the Joker teases Batman that he knows his secret identity. Its not only a small part in the background of the story, but a really huge thing that Batman fears. My question is why that should be such a big deal? Of course Joker knows who Batman really is, since he fought Batman without his mask on in Arkham during the R.I.P. Arc (my absolute favorite comicbook run of all time. LOVE IT!). Batman had his Zur En Arrh costume and lost the mask as he stormed down into the bowels of the Asylum to rescue Jezebel Jet, where he then fought Joker for a lot of pages before going down. In the whole time Joker could see his face. Dr. Hurt even called Batman Bruce, right in front of Joker. In both instances Joker didn't even flinched, like he either knew it all along, or simply did never care before. Even when he interacted with Dick and Damian in B&R;, he seemed to know everything about them. He even took the fight to hurt on the Wayne Manor grounds. Since Scott Snyder said on the Fatman on Batman podcast to Kevin Smith that he wirtes the Batman book with all continuity and mayor storylines intact, his Joker is still the Joker who saw Bruce without the mask. Love your podcasts and finally had the pleasure of listening to James Robinson on it for the first time. I am a big fan of his Face the Face arc on Batman and think he seems like a extremely funny and cool guy, even with all the anti-german jokes (I lived in London for awhile, but am for all intents and purposes German)! Big thanks for all the great work you guys do! Looking forward to the next few podcasts.

Hey guys, big comicbook reader from Germany here! I just recently discovered your podcasts and for my personal taste, they are the best comicbook podcasts on the web. I also love the new one, which is almost completely devoted to answering questions from the community (love to geek out with you guys while in the gym or on the way to work). Anyway, here is my first question, which I would've loved to get answered by Tony, since he is a big Spidey fan: I am a biiiiiiiiig time Batman fan and love my heroes dark and troubled (Snyders Batman is soooooo great) and I want to get into Spider-man. Problem is, I really don't like the current stuff. I don't really know why, but its too cartoony and light for me, most of the time. The only run I have read that I liked so far was JMS'. I really like Peter as a character and love that he is so easy to identify with, but I need some darker stuff with him. Nothing against Dan Slott, whose Arkham Asylum series I loved, but his Spidey is not for me. Do you have any recommendations for darker Spidey stories I could get in trade or HC (I'm one of those trade-waiters)? I already have my eye on Superior Spidey and will check it out when the first trade hits, but I would love some older stuff as well. I remember reading some Spidey stuff back in the nineties, where Peter died and had to face Thanos in the afterlife, or something like that. That was great. Maybe that McFarlane Spidey Omnibus would be great for darker stuff? Oh, and another question: did you guys read Batman City Of Crime, by Lapham? Its one of my favorite Batman stories (next to Morrison Batman run, Snyders stuff and the classics) and it gets a lot of hate on the internet. It was a great and depressing noir book that really blew my mind. Did you guys liked it? Thanks for the entertainment, guys! Hope I get my question answered.
