Can somebody tell me who the contact is?
No problem, you seem like a really cool individual.
Hmm transonic she was one of the five lights right? That would be cool.
Back on your original topic i realized that besides the females of the xmen my favorite are the ones who cant hide being a mutant like Nightcrawler and Beast. I think we think on the same page. Lol
Great conversation about intersectional discriminaion and how its important to understand it and how it relates to Comic books and the x-men.
I also think that the woman characters in the x-men are some of the better characters in the franchise.
Random fact on a similar topic. I always wanted to see a trans character in the x-men.
I just noticed the cover says budapest... yet another east egg to the movie.
@Rixec: i dont feel that al female deaths are examples of this. for instance both wasps and gertrudes from the runaways deaths were extremely powerful deaths that strengthed the female characters even after death. it escalated who they were and what they did. even though wasp was retconned to being alive all this time
woman in refrigator examples like this one, dont elevate or help the charcter in anyway. they only die so that the male character can be improved on, or changed, or developed. and its true and we complain, because there are already more male characters in comics anyways. so when a female character ia brutally killed, or killed for a male character, or raped , or fanbase. its disrspecttful to the character, to the fans and to woman. its something thats been happening in our society for ages combined with the violence that exiats towards woman in real life it creates a major problem
@akbogert: fair enough... i still dont like it... but i can tolerate it.
i'm not kidding...
And it wasnt that she was just killed. she was killed so that there could be deveopment for a male character..I'm sure the writers didnt go there saying oh lets be sexist and kill her. what i'm saying is that all too often in media female characters are killed for the deveopent of a male cast. she was killed as a plot device taking away her status as a character so that superman(a male character) can ne changed. like i said it isnt direct sexism where i think the writer is doing it on purpse but rather a layer underneath and in our society that saus its okay to kill off a female character( a minority) in order to grow a male character...
to be honest i hate the whole woman in refrigarator trope. its complete bs and sexiest...
what happene in the comic actually makes me not want to play the game even though i probably still am going too.
