Good call avoiding the Spirit movie if you're a fan of the character. What a mess. Catwoman and Elektra are always brought up in any discussion of "worst comic book movie," but The Spirit was easily just as bad, if not worse. (Let that sink in--worse than Catwoman.)

As much credit as Timm and Dini deserve for the quality of DC animation projects, Andrea Romano deserves just as much.

@danhimself: Whatever. It ain't Shakespeare, no matter how convinced you are that it is. Like I said, Megan Fox's role in the film will have a nearly negligible impact on the quality of the film; if you take issue with the level of character development (and I can promise you now it won't be enough to satisfy you) then you have a problem with the writers, not the actors, because it doesn't matter who's playing the part, if the character is undeveloped, there's not a thing an actor can do about that.

@iaconpoint: I've never claimed she can act. But the role doesn't exactly require an Oscar caliber performance, so the ridiculous hand wringing over her casting is nothing but trendy fanboy angst over the casting of an actress whom it is trendy to hate on. Her casting isn't going to make or break the film; you shrill harpies need to tone down your "outrage."

I don't think anyone had any thoughts that this could be an Oscar worthy movie but it's really not all that big of a thing to ask for a decent actress

She may, or she may not, be "decent" enough; we don't know, as there has been a single foot of film shot yet, so condemning her performance or suitability for the role already is ridiculous. And I'm sure A-list actresses were knocking down the door for the opportunity to play eye-candy in a film where they are playing second fiddle to CGI characters. As I said, Megan Fox won't make or break the movie, so getting up in arms about her casting is ignorant. It will succeed--or, more than likely, fail--regardless of her involvement; hell, HER character could be CGI and it wouldn't change anything.

We're going to beat the "Megan Fox whining" drum all the way to the premiere, aren't we?

ALL ABOARD THE DISGRUNTLED FANBOY EXPRESS!

@Rumble Man: I've never heard Alfred fanboys claim Alfred could beat God (with enough prep, of course)

When did the DCNU launch, 2011? There is no "new" or "old" Harley; it's just Harley. Let it go, people.
