DC would love to update the costume; don't blame them. It's the pathetic fans who wail and rend their hair when DC tries to change WW's costume. They toss around words like "iconic" and "classic," when the fact is they don't want the character to evolve; they treat WW like some doll in their toy box, character be damned. Until DC shakes off the restrictions forced upon the character by a petulant fan base, WW will never realize her potential as a character.

Now, now. You're raining on the "But, but, they CHANGED IT. Things are DIFFERENT" Chorus. Are you trying to take the bitching away from the fanboys?

While we're at it, cut the X teams down to two or three.

The comments here are just another reason why comic publishers need to tell the fanboys to just F off.  Fanboys don't increase sales numbers.  Fanboys don't bring in new readers.  Fanboys just bitch, and that's ALL fanboys do.  Cater exclusively to the fanboys, and  comics will die.  Guaranteed.

Honestly, F the shield.

It's like arguing over a character's wardrobe--if the character is defined by what they wear, or their accessories, or the car they drive, or even their superhuman skills, they aren't really a character at all.  Steve Rogers is The Man with or without a shield.

Is Perry White's race somehow pertinent to the character?  No?  Then STFU.
is Blades?
No.  And?  You have a point?
what if instead of Snipes they casted Jason Statham as Blade? would you tell the legions of fans enraged by disrespect for the tradition of the character to STFU.
But Blade is not a periphery character, he is a LEAD character.  See the difference?  White's race really doesn't mean diddly--he's the "Boss" character.  He could be a lamp for all that it really matters in the Superman canon.
