@ghostravage: Honestly, I always found that claim a stretch even for comics. Pak produced some good Hulk stories, but towards the end of his run it felt like he became determined to showcase the Hulk as the best at everything and I didn't care much for it.

How are you defining intelligence here? Pure IQ points? Number of fields one is an expert in? Creativity? Pure mathematical computation power? Amadeus Cho can do quick math better than anyone named here thanks to his brain being a hypermind, but he is usually ranked between 7-10. I think the Leader is the same way. Reed is usually ranked the smartest because he is an expert in every known field of science on a level nearly rivaling if not surpassing anyone else. Black Panther may not possess the raw intelligence of either of these two, but hasn't he worked better with magic than them in the past? Stark is usually agreed to be better a better engineer and businessman than Banner while Banner is better at things involving radiation.

I think the majority of sources place Reed and Doom as the most intelligent. Stark, Banner, and Pym vary on whether Pym is having a good day and who is getting pushed at the moment.

Nobody Hulk will be the last being on Earth, I have the Comic ;)

If you are referring to Hulk: The End that is a What If?/alternate reality. It does not mean the Hulk is unkillable. Generally, in mainstream comics all major characters are unkillable or will be resurrected shortly. shortly. Once you remove them from the "death is not permanent" Hulk becomes very killable.

On a somewhat related note, in Hercules: Heart of Chaos the god Tharamus mentioned that Hercules and Ares were the only gods still relevant to modern man or at least more so than any other Olympian. Ares of course because he represents the worst aspects of humanity...our own inhumanity toward each other that never seems to change. Ares is the part that is willing to do anything to win no matter who it hurts or how brutal. The part that wants greatness no matter what. The part of humans to take any new knowledge and try and use it how to figure out how to use such knowledge to dominate or kill each other.

Do you agree with the rest of Tharamus' statement about Hercules? In what ways is he still relevant to modern humans? Why more than other gods like Athena or Dionysus?

I think this depends on how you define a modern man. Many countries in the world still have views closer to Hercules's original time. For instance, in Assault on New Olympus Hercules still thought of Hebe as essentially his property and any man who associated with her without his permission was within his rights to kill. Back in the eighties Avengers, Hercules had issue with taking orders from the Wasp.

At the same time like PowerHerc has shown he has come into the modern age as viewed in western countries. He knows how to use computers to some extent contrary to what Iron Man might say. He views women with more respect than he once did. He knows times have changed enough that he should not go around killing everyone who has wronged him. So I would say he fits in more with the modern age more so than any other Olympian save Ares. The only bit of him that doesn't fit in is his fashion sense.

The Ragnarok cycle and somewhat loose continuity within Thor's own title make it difficult to tell. Odin appears to be millions of years. Thor is sometimes said to predate humanity or at least the current evolution of it. Other stories indicate him to be much younger. Generally, 3000 - 5000 appears to be correct.

@seekquaze: doesn't need to be someone who hates Sentry. Many demons and such like to have errand boys and seeing as Norman had him under control and now the apocalypse twins do it wouldn't be to hard to believe one of the demons fancied him to be there champion/slave/herald/trophy or host body.

I am not sure what you are referring to? What does this have to do with Ares finding a partner to try and take out Sentry? Yes, Sentry has been used as a pawn in the past, but you stated Ares wanted revenge which would mean killing Sentry not using him as a pawn. In a scheme to use Sentry as a pawn I do not see why anyone would work with Ares because he brings nothing to the table in that regard.

@seekquaze: yes that's the image. Like you said mentally he is quite easy to manage, Emma Frost dealt with him and after a quick chat he refused to fight X-man and I can't remember properly but I think he fled from the Skrulls because they blamed him or something. My point being he isn't completely untouchable and has a weakness. Whether Ares being able to exploit this would be very much down to the creativity to the writer.

I think Ares will be sh!t scared of the void on his return.

Yes, Sentry has a weakness, but I don't think Ares can take advantage of it. That would require too much thinking and he prefers to leave that area of warfare to Athena.

Lol this is funny. Ares is a badass there is no denying that but he is no where near the level sentry is on. The only gods out side of the sky fathers that could take on the sentry are Thor and Herc.

Eh, I question how much of a badass Ares is when in action. There is no denying that he is supposed to project the image of a badass, but in myth he was always a paper tiger. He is a bit less so in Marvel, but his less than stellar record does not do him any favors. He is plenty strong against things weaker than him, but once he is up against threats his level or higher he has never impressed me.

@w0nd: He has done before with Hades also the Enchantress. He has worked as part of a team aswell so I wouldn't be surprised.

The questions is how does Ares go about getting a teammate. He can work with Pluto because the latter is more powerful than him and offers him targets that he hates. IIRC, he worked with Enchantress because she seduced him and again pointed him at targets he hates. Stark too played to Ares' ego, love of war, and desire for respect. Ares would have to find someone that hates Sentry enough to work with Ares and be willing to risk the wrath of the Sentry on top of being able to actually hurt him.
