"This is my path." 0

Spoilers included into my review, so read it further only if you've seen the movie or don't mind being spoiled. I've been waiting for this one for a while now. Have to say it didn't disappoint. Although I loved Jamie Foxx's Electro have to say I was glad that Harry Osborn turned out to be so to say, the main villain of the sequel. While Electro was an interesting add to the movie, he couldn't have been able to hold together the baddie of the movie plot all by himself so having Harry's story as a...

New Threat in Old City 0

This was a pretty solid and fun issue to read, seriously Bendis really knows how to write Spider-Man, and this time was no different. Venom War sets out to be a promising story arc and the first chapter didn't disappoint. Divided We Fall and United We Stand is over and the city is saved , at least for now, but a new Venom rises from the remains of Oscorp Industries, we don't know anything about this new monster but we know that it killed Betty Brant, who was at time a reporter at The Daily Bugle...

Evil Incarcerated 0

I kinda missed this one out but when I read New Avengers 18 and saw that Norman Osborn is once more at the top of his game with H.A.M.M.E.R., A.I.M. and HYDRA and also regroupped the Dark Avengers I thought, okay I need to read this one as well to understand some things.Aftre the fall of Osborn following the siege of Asgard, Norman was incarcerated to Raft where he was awaiting trial but turned out there was no trial and was transferred to a top secret underground facility where he met some very...

I Want YOU! 0

Dark Avengers are FINALLY back!I waited for a triumphant return a loong time.Back in 2010 when Dark Avengers was ending I was sad because it was my favorite comic of the year(and past years as well!) so when I heard back in August that Dark Avengers would be back I jumped out of my seat.Norman Osborn is more badass now than ever and seems that he learned from his past mistakes and re-created the group with the same rules: "Villains dressed as Heroes" but now he put together a more precise and co...

Spidey 2.0 0

Hearing about Peter being replaced made me skeptic and thought "What the hell?!Why would Marvel kill off such a core character of the Ultimate Universe and replace it with someone unknown?"Of course as many big news, there are two sides, those who like the idea and those who don't.Honsetly, I was between the two.I loved that something, new, fresh is going to happen, something that wasn't done before but also feared that this may kill off the Ultimate Marvel universe.Big time. The way I see, I was wr...

Dawn of the Heroes 0

I finally have a chance to start over and begin reading DC comics, because I was kinda lost before the reboot.I didn't know where to begin reading to understand all that has been going on and around.Heard many were skeptic about the 'reboot' (which isn't really a reboot now isn't?) but I for one was glad. Finally I can start to get into the characters.Of course I read Flashpoint only to understand the change that happens than picked up Justice Legaue # 1 and I really enjoyed it.It's the dawn of th...

Spider-Man No More 0

The Sixth and final chapter of 'Ultimate Fallout' is here and changes do happen while secrets from past are also revealed. The final issue deals with Spider-Man death's aftermath.Aunt May and Gwen Stacy got an offer from Tony Stark who told them they can go anywhere in the world they would like to start a new life so the two decide to go to France where Tony buys them a villa to live. Meanwhile Kitty Pride,Johnny Storm and Bobby Drake are going through the sewers finally heading to the Morlock un...

Power and Bussiness 0

I'll start by saying I enjoyed this issue of Fallout almost twice as previous issue(s).Maybe because lately(or better set during Ultimate X) Pietro became a favorite of mine. He's a charismatic villain who can be incredibely persuasive. The issue followed two plot line:Pietro's and Nick Fury's.Pietro is revealed on planning on enslaving the mutants and selling them to the highest bidders with this claiming to 'help' the country making trillions.Diabolic plan have to say it while on the other side...

Star Wars comics are always a pleasure for me to read.Especially after hit series like Republic, Knights of the Old Republic and Legacy so Jedi:Dark Side was no exception for me to pick it up.If I'm saying well that the plot of the mini series is heavely based on the events of Star Wars Jedi Apprentice: The Dark Rival wich was written by Jude Watson and published back in 1999.Haven't read the book but planning on going through with it since I finished the previous one, The Rising Force, which ser...

The End 0

***SPOILERS INCLUDED***  And so the 10 year run of 'Ultimate Spider-Man' came to an end.It started with Bendis-Bagley and ended with Bendis-Bagley with a little help from Stuart Immonen,David LaFuente and Sara Pichelli. For me this arc was the most important in young Peter's life not only because he eventually died saving New York but also because he ended up victorious. It was his final test. His uncle Ben died because he wasn't thinking of consequences but as his final act he saved his family an...

"Killing will not bring you peace" 0

X-Men First Class was a pleasent surprise for me as I expected this movie to turn out as a disappointment judging by previous comments, thoughts and so called "rushed" production. As many before me stated, the movie isn't completely a reboot, but a prequel for previous X-Men movies with sometimes major continuity errors like how did Xavier got paralyzed before being bald as he was walking at the end of  "X-Men Origins:Wolverine" and in the beginning of "X-Men 3".If you close your eyes upon these ...

"I Think God Wants Us to kill Peter Parker" 0

This is it.Maybe the last story of 'Ultimate Spider-Man' and finally all time favorite Mark Bagley is back to pencil it.Spoilers ahead, beware. So Norman Osborn escaped(after turned out to be alive) and took Electro,Kraven,Octopus,Sandman and Vulture with him. Norman now developed some sort of God Complex and believes that God wants them to kill Peter Parker . Peter meanwhile has his own problems.Sure things got back on track between him and Mary Jane, but Steve Rogers aka Captain America continu...

J.M. Straczynski is one of my favorite comic book writers so that's one of the main reasons I picked this one up.To be honest I really don't see why to re-tell or retcon so many thimes The Man of Steel's origin.First we got Geoff John's Superman:Secret Origins and now this, a modern retelling of Clark Kent's origins. So we start all over again.Clark Kent moved from Smallville to Metropolis in order to find a job and get money and live happily ever after with his mom, Martha Kent after Jonath...

In the shadow of Romulus 0

Daken is back.My favorite anti hero(he isn't like a villain from my point of view) is back!!!I haven't been reading much comics since Siege with the exception of Amazing Spider-Man so it was good to have a few recap pages which told the story of Daken. The first issue was really interesting. We get a dose of drama, action, sex(?!) and even humor.Daken's quotes are awesome too and his inner dialog/monologue,thoughts or whatever... Starting in Milan,Italy Daken is getting ready to jump in action again...

Thor SMASH! 0

Thor is back and he isn't the same nice guy he was back in the day...     Thor is reborn thanks to Loki who killed Valkyrie to bring his brother back from Vallaha.Once 'reborn', this new Thor who's now a God gone mad faces off against the dragon army all alone while he doesn't care if it's an enemy or even his team mates Captain America or Iron Man who he takes down in his way to Loki. Mjolnir is still in Loki's  possession  but Thor quickly manages to 'force unleashed out' all the enemies th...

Give yourself to the Dark Side! 0

The official video game tie-in of the "Force Unleashed II" was one of those releases that I mostly anticipated this year and besides a bit of disappointment, it was a really goo read.    My only problem was that all story was presented from Boba Fett's point of view. The same thing was done 2 years ago with the first Force Unleashed comic only that that time the narrator was non other that PROXY.    Good point thou that the comic expended the story with some humor too from Boba's part ...

The New Era 0

Wow, High School,Girls,Drama,Supernatural.Just like the doctor ordered xD.This is probably the first IMAGE COMIC title I've read in years.I got hooked into this after reading the plot summary and I have to say it's even better than I expected. We got a plenty of nice and interesting characters.Jade,Zoe,Hunder,Jun,Ike and Casey are the new recruits of the Morning Glory Academy and their goal is to 'change the world' but it's easier said than done. Can't say much without spoiling everything, but the...

A Dark Turn 0

Finally got this issue too and I have to say it, after all of the negative feedback I heard about Ultimate Power I have to say I really enjoy this series.   Doom vs. Iron Man This issue kicks off with Dr.Doom battling Iron Man while Spider-Man desperately tries to help him by threatening Nick Fury's life to tell him everything , for like example how did Victor Van Damme get there. Fury unveils his actions and confesses to Spidey that he was the one who hired Dr.Doom in  Spidey threatens ...

The Art of Ending 0

So this is it too,the second Star Wars series I've been reading since 2007 besides Legacy. To be honest, this one was a far more satisfying last issue as Legacy. They gave everyone a proper ending and(almost) everyone a happy ending. The fight in the end between Chantique and Zayne & Jarael was a bit of a disappointment because basically all they did was talking and a bit fighting but turned out to be interesting  overall. I'm also happy for Jarael reuniting with his parents and Zayne telling t...

Don't Look Back 0

This is it!The very last issue of the Star Wars:Legacy.I've been in this series since 2007 and one of my favorite arcs were Ghosts,Claws of the Dragon,Vector and Tatooine. The ending for me was a little bit of letdown because left so many open questions and did not gave the series a proper ending, but sure the reader with this can decide how the series ends.Things changed after I heard about Legacy-War which will appear on December 15, 2010 and will wrap things up in a six part mini series. The i...

Rate of Exchange 0

For some reason I missed this issue and now I finally got my hands on it.First off, I know it's been almost 2 years this issue appeared but I still think no matter when an issue appears still worth writing a review. So,this is the semi-final(or final because the next one is the conclusion) of the War of the Symbiotes story arc, and the semi final arc of the Ultimate Spider-Man comics because the next one is ULTIMATUM which...well everyone knows what happens... So we got to see Dr.Curt Conners ag...

Before O.M.I.T. ends Quesada still didn't answer all of the questions, he holds it for the very last issue of the arc. After One More Day aunt May didn't die,the World forgot Peter was Spider-Man and his marriage with Mary Jane Watson was retconned. We finally got answers for some of the big questions, how aunt May survived, what happened in the day of Peter's marriage but one thing that we didn't see coming was that Peter indeed revealed his true identity to the world.Once more, Eddie the burglar r...

Mad Pursuit 0

This issue was one of the most exciting issues from this new series.Chameleon took over Peter's life and with his sidekick whom I should call...Lady Chameleon, did what did benefit Spider-Man reputation but Spider-Man is in a pretty serious trouble. Chameleon just destroyed everything Peter worked so hard to build. The panel where Chameleon jumps out with the money from the Bank was just awesome as it had the Ultimate Spider-Man # 6 reference. Now that someone may be dead from Peter's life and aun...

Shadowland continues and it's more insane than ever. Daredevil is truly an anti-hero now and doesn't care who he throws into the shadowland jail NYPD officers, thugs, cab drivers whoever stands in his way.The Kingpin and Lady Bullseye got an unlikely ally while Shang Chi,Iron Fist,Luke Cage ,Spider-Man and other went to see Matt who invited them to join the Hand so they can be with him or against him and when they refused the deal Matt ordered to take them dead or alive. And Ghost Rider arrives too...

Something Old,New & Blue 0

The second part of the One Moment in Time storyline was more interesting as the first one in my opinion.Although it explains the aftermath of the wedding from both Peter's and MJ's point of view as many readers suspects***SPOILER*** this isn't the reason why Peter and MJ broke up and never spoke to each other for a while **SPOILER***. I really loved how they were mentions about Peter's unmasking,Aunt May being shot,Doc Strange and everything from the One More Day era.Although it was said that Me...

One Moment for Review 0

I've been waiting for months for this single arc and the first issue was a very slow moving but interesting one overall. Can't spoil it as I promised before but this whole issue was about spoilers. We found out what MJ whispered to Mephisto and a clue why Peter and MJ didn't get married. We can see Electro,Mephisto,Flash,MJ,Harry,Jonah Jameson,Aunt May and many more characters again. Overall 3 out of 5 because I felt a bit of disappointment for the slow story telling.Plus it was a double issue so....

Bizarro Peter 0

Unlike others, I really enjoyed this issue.it was like a smallville-bizarro-clark(peter) issue. The Chameleon took over Peter's life and step-by-step found out who he really is.His relationship with Flash,MJ and Gwen Stacy has radically changed.Lillte spoiler: he even threat Flash that if he ever touches him he'll kill him. LaFuente again made an excellent job on the artwork and Bendis got the "root" of the story and succeded on tell/write it a way that even new people could understand. The whole...

Okay, once more:SPOILER FREE reviews from now on.(I keep repeating it so I can keep that in mind too xD ) The conclusion was and wasn't what I was expecting from 'Grim Hunt'.Things happened the way it should have, not slow but neither too fast. The ending was satisfying for Spidey fans but those who just pick up to read something maybe they'll  find it as 'nothing special'.Of course after this issue lot of things are questionable for example the last page.Yes dear readers once you see the THE END...

Dark Side of the Moon 0

I haven't read Daredevil comics for a while and when I first heard about 'Shadowland' I decided to "restore" what I missed and began reading the comics from issue 82 'The Devil in Cell-Block', where Brubaker took over the series. They were good moment and bads too.My favorite stories where 'Without Fear' , 'Lady Bullseye' , 'Return of the King' and now 'The Left Hand Path'.  Background:    The whole 'Shadowland' story is the outgrowth of what happened to Matt Murdock aka. Daredevil in the last...

Batman Beyond was one of those titles at DC Comics that I've waited for a long time.As much as I wanted to say it's awesome, I can't.Don't get me wrong, I loved this issue it's just not what I have expected. I began reading and not much has happened and suddenly I found myself on the last page.    The story begins with Amanda and Dr.Reid talking about a patient who has escaped the facility and murdered a lot of people. Amanda is of course aged.Don't forget we're around 2040 and Gotham City be...

Before the Devil Knows you're Dead 0

First of all.I haven't been reading THAT much Amazing Spider-Man since Brand New Day(of course with a few exceptions like the Menace saga, New Ways to Die,Mind of Fire, Character Assassination, American Son, The Red-Headed Stranger and now the Grim Hunt.) As much as I hate to say that they've ruined all with erasing Peter and Mary Jane's marriage from the timeline, Quesada was right in one thing, the stories after that really did gave the book a push in sales as I think everybody was expecting to...

Are you there God?It's me, Lex Luthor 0

Lex Luthor is back! While not as powerful as he thought he might be, he still has the same rancorous mind.Killing fired employees and stuff like that.Like I said in my early review, from now on spoiler free reviews.  My opinion about this issue was 'that it's awesome but not a big bang'.Paul Cornell is a brilliant writer. The art was fine too, Pete Woods is a great artist but David Finch is better from my point of view, who has done the cover art for this one. Lex Luthor now has became a power gre...

The Dark Knight 0

Probably the best issue yet.Jeph Loeb is really making a brilliant job with this series as he tries to 'redeem' himself after the events of Ultimatum.Chicago looks more like Gotham City.Derek Morgan  is a vigilante with wings and his life is pretty messed up, has a brother who's wife is pregnant, but his brother is a cop who is hunting this 'dark creature of the night'.Also unlike the typical superheroes, Derek takes the money of those who he catches to pay his rent and attacks a police officer ...

Ultimate X Origins: Karen 0

***SPOILER***       After the nice start we get the another nice start. This time we meet Karen Grant who in fact is none other then our friendly redhead, Jean Grey in another body.We can say that it's some kind of incarnation. Although she is the main protagonist of this issue, the narrator is a 'mall cop' who's in love with Karen and asked her out on a date multiple times but she couldn't go for some reason. If you haven't read this issue I suggest you to do because you won't be disappointed. L...

Metallo 0

I've been reading this series since issue one and neither this one disappointed me.Of course the cover mislead the reader as we haven't seen much of Parasite only in one panel and Metallo's appearance was a bit different as he was in the robot suit and not with the kryptonite heart(yet).    I loved how John Corben was introduced as a military man, Lois' ex-boyfriend and a cold blooded killer. Clark wad really friendly with Corben although the latest didn't shared the same 'introduction mode'....

Kick Ass!All I can say. These days It's hard to find a 'good' comic, I mean with quality and Blackest Night is one of those which I enjoy reading more than once.Siege does the pretty same thing. In the first issue I thought 'Man gimme' a break this won't succeed' but than after the Tie-ins from Dark Wolverine,Dark Avengers,Mighty Avengers and so on I began thinking that this thing could work and so it did so far.Siege # 2 brought a new form and # 3...well it just kicked ass.Staring off with Presid...

Just read it and have to say I expected a bit more from this one since next issue is the conclusion of the series.Like always, Hawkeye/Bullseye brought his usual form.Murdered with cold blood Lindsay Reynolds, Bob's wife and throw him out from the jet to the ocean than returned back and reported as a suicide.Of course this pissed lil' Bob up and tried to kill Bullseye, lucky for him, Norman Osborn stopped him than Bob flew away to search for the cadaver of his wife. The last part or page was reall...

Just finished it and I have to say I was quite impressed about it.Honestly to say I'm not a big fan of Jeph Loeb's since Ultimatum but I gave him a last chance and sure Frank Cho did the art so of course I picked this one up.The only complaining I have about this is the appearance of Loki.I loved how Mark Millar and Brian Hitch made him look a little bit 21st century and now he is changed completely. The only thing I hate about Jeph is that when he is writting the ultimate marvel universe stories...

One Word:INCREDIBLE. The only thing that bothered me while reading this is that it is just a mini series. The book can be compared to  Ultimate Spider-Man which retells spidey's origins a little bit diffrently. The same things is happening here as well.Geoff Johns has been one of my favorite writers of all time and he didn't let me down neither this time.I love how there are some(hmm can I say easter eggs?) in this issue.First is a signature 'Chloe S' in Pete's cast, than the red-blue combination C...

Just read this issue and I have to say it is a quite relaxing issue after the Mysterio saga.Although the issue focuses more on the guy named Rick Jones who was chosen as the herald by the eye from Ultimate Origins, than on Peter Parker's overcrowded house.
