The Story GI Joe Retaliation Wanted to Tell 0

COBRA has taken control of the White House and formed a new special forces team to replace GI Joe. The GI Joes have become enemies of the state and the White House under COBRA’s command has sent forces to storm the GI Joe base of operations at the Rock. You’d be forgiven if you thought this was going to be a review for GI Joe Retaliation, no I’m reviewing the much better-written story of GI Joe America’s Elite: In Sheep’s Clothing collected in GI Joe America’...

Natasha's long awaited solo movie leaves much to be desired 0

Imagine a film that places a protagonist as badass as Batman in an international spy film like Mission Impossible. That's what Black Widow could've been, but that's not what it was. Instead, the film was an uninspired rehash of Captain America The Winter Soldier and the Punisher season 1 with elements of Mission Impossible sprinkled in the mix. This is a crying shame because a Black Widow movie was long overdue ever since she was introduced in Iron Man 2 and this is what the final product ended ...

Bat In The Sun's Welcome Return To Their Roots 0

Ever wonder how it's possible to make a great Batman movie on a 75k budget, look no further than Bat In The Sun's Batman: Dying Is Easy. Bat In The Sun is a fan studio that is best known for their hit web series Super Power Beat Down and a few Batman short films like Batman: The City of Scars and Patient J. I've watched Bat In The Sun's films since I was in the fourth grade when I saw their trailer video Batman Legends, and my first exposure to their films was through Patient J clips that were ...

Ever wonder what would happen if Batman, the Spirit, and Doc Savage teamed up to stop a cabal of villains, well the First Wave answers your question. Live Long And Prosper 0

Do you like movie tie-in graphic novels? If you do you should definitely read Star Trek: Countdown. I personally have mixed feelings about movie tie-in graphic novels and media tie-in graphic novels in general video game television graphic novels. There are great tie-in graphic novels like Batman Arkham Unhinged and Star Wars: Darth Vader, then there are duds like Ghostbusters: Legion and Frank Miller's Robocop. Star Trek: Countdown I can safely is not remotely a dud. Star Trek: Countdown tells ...

Time Travel can be dangerous 0

What would happen if the Flash's mother never died? If Batman's parents never died, but instead it was Batman who died in that fateful night? If Superman's ship crash-landed in Metropolis not Smallville? Well, Flashpoint answers those questions in a unique way and gives readers new and interesting takes on iconic characters. Flashpoint is by far the best Flash story I've read and that's thanks in large part to its a compelling story, the cast of character, and artwork.StoryIn Flashpoint the Flas...

Ultimatum Spider-Man meats the Chameleon 0

Ever wonder what an Ultimate version of the classic Spider-Man villain the Chameleon would be like? Ultimate Spider-Man Chameleons answers that question. In this sequel to Brian Michael Bendis' Ultimate Spider-Man The New World According To Peter Parker, Spider-Man is captured and impersonated by the Chameleon after being captured at the Daily Bugle. Brian Michael Bendis does a wonderful job at writing a great story and a fun cast of characters, and this has good artwork to compliment the story....

The Avengers of the Ultimate Universe finally assemble after Captain America goes rogue to find out more about the Red Skull. The Ultimates and the Justice League meat face to face 0

Many superhero fans and comic readers what would happen if the Avengers met the Justice League? Well, Ultimate Power answers that question perfectly by giving you a story where Marvel's deconstruction of the Justice League the Squadron Supreme meats the Ultimates, the Ultimate versions of the Avengers, alongside the X-Men and the Fantastic Four. Ultimate Power is a massive crossover event that took the combined work of J. Michael Straczynski, Jeph Loeb, and Brian Michael Bendis to create. Ultima...

Ultimate Batman 0

With the success of Superman Earth One, it was inevitable that Batman would also get the Earth One treatment too. Batman Earth One does the Dark Knight justice in this original telling of Batman's origin story. As Batman tries to uncover why his parents were murdered, he discovers a conspiracy to kill Thomas Wayne that involves the Penguin. Geoff Johns and Gary Frank deliver a great and impressive retelling of Batman's origin story. Batman Earth One is a great read from its compelling story, cha...

Ultimate Superman II 0

Fresh of the success of the massively successful Superman Earth One, J. Michael Straczynski and Shane Davis deliver another masterfully written Superman story. Ultimate Superman 0

Superman tries to live a normal life among average humans, but he figures out it's harder than it appears given his powers. Then an alien invasion hits earth causing Clark Kent to spring into action as Superman and finds his purpose. That basically sums up J. Michael Straczynski and Shane Davis' Superman Earth One, which kicked off DC's Earth-One runs. Earth-One is basically DC's answer to Marvel's Ultimate Universe, which is placing iconic heroes in a world that more closely resembles our world...
