Twenty years ago it appeared, and it's not that bad. It's a pretty picture, with NO nudity, unlike that bootleg pic of Nightwing you posted. All you seem to see is booty, but look at Artemis and her hair, the tree, the perfectly rendered faces or the ruffles of Diana's tunic, there's a lot there to like beyond what you see as oversexualized. If you got your mind out the gutter you might notice.
Honestly I think the problem lies with you and not Mike Deodato.
that's like saying the Blacksploitation films of the 1970s didn't propagate negative stereotypes of African Americans. Being a mindless robot who readily accepts what you are told to doesn't make you right it makes you stupid. Sitting around saying it's fine to show booty (mind you it's booty pointed straight in the air with a transparent piece of cloth dangling in her crotch) is just a way of accepting that you, as a woman, are worth nothing more than your physical beauty. Deodato's art is pretty, it's technically well done, but it's also a statement about horny little boys and the girls who buy into the BS that being sexy is the most desirable thing about them.
Really? You're going to come back at me with Blaxploitaion like basing your pitiful argument on my race was the only thing I could understand? You're really pathetic. I saw your post days ago but didn't want to address it, because I couldn't believe you'd reach for such low hanging fruit. I thought you were better than that, but obviously you're not. Your last post was indicative of the fact you let your myopic world view negatively color your opinion on topics you know nothing about.
Let the record show that generally Black people LOVE Blaxploitation movies and see them as harmless wish fulfillment, where WE get to be the hero and vanquish the bad guys and the injustices they create, despite you seeing them as perpetuating negative stereotypes. They're not for you, they're for US. So your misguided judgement is unwarranted, unwanted and as wrong as two left shoes. You're just illustrating how clueless you are on this and the subject of cheesecake in comicbooks.
Because YOU dislike something, it doesn't make it "trash", or prurient, or distasteful to others. It's only your personal opinion, and like a heart, everyone has one and it may beat on a higher echelon than yours. I'm a good Baptist and I see nothing wrong with Mike Deodato's art, no matter how much that makes you mad. You're obviously mistaken, as well as prudish, so again your PERSONAL OPINION means as much to me as the dirt under my Timberlands, I just brush it off and keep it moving. You're as irrelevant to me as your confused observations.
