@just_sayin: Actually reparations aren't just for what your great great great great grandpappy did. They're for the historical system of oppression your ancestors implemented that still impede the progress of African-Americans til this day.

I am no more responsible for what my ancestors did than @black3stpanth3r is for what his African ancestors who captured my ancestors in Italy and enslaved and raped them (but if we are giving out reparations money - I'll take mine too).

The greatest obstacle to success for the African American is not the presence of the white man, but the absence of the black father.

Children growing up without both parents in the home are much more likely to be poor, have poor school attendance, not finish high school, be convicted of a crime, and commit suicide. 70 percent of African American children will grow up in a single family home.

The "systemic oppression" argument is not only wrong but it is destructive to African Americans. As long as you are the victim you are not in charge of your future. You are dependent upon someone else changing rather than choosing your own actions and course in life. That mentality is a lie. Case in point - here's a snippet from an article from Walter Williams on the history of Black educational decline in New York City.

Dr. Thomas Sowell provides some interesting statistics about Stuyvesant High School in his book "Wealth, Poverty and Politics." He reports that, "In 1938, the proportion of blacks attending Stuyvesant High School, a specialized school, was almost as high as the proportion of blacks in the population of New York City." Since then, it has spiraled downward. In 1979, blacks were 12.9% of students at Stuyvesant, falling to 4.8% in 1995. By 2012, The New York Times reported that blacks were 1.2% of the student body.

What explains the decline?

None of the usual explanations for racial disparities make sense. In other words, would one want to argue that there was less racial discrimination in 1938? Or, argue that in 1938 the "legacy of slavery" had not taken effect whereby now it is in full bloom?

Genetic or environmental arguments cannot explain why blacks of an earlier generation were able to meet the demanding mental test standards to get into an elite high school. Socioeconomic conditions for blacks have improved dramatically since 1938. The only other plausible reason for the decline in academic achievement is that there has been a change in black culture. It doesn't take much to reach this conclusion. Simply look at school behavior today versus yesteryear.

An Education Week article reported that in the 2015-16 school year, "5.8% of the nation's 3.8 million teachers were physically attacked by a student." The Justice Department's Bureau of Justice Statistics and the Department of Education's National Center for Education Statistics show that in the 2011-12 academic year, there were a record 209,800 primary- and secondary-school teachers who reported being physically attacked by a student. Nationally, an average of 1,175 teachers and staff were physically attacked, including being knocked out, each day of that school year.

In the city of Baltimore, each school day in 2010, an average of four teachers and staff were assaulted. A National Center for Education Statistics study found that 18% of the nation's schools accounted for 75% of the reported incidents of violence, and 6.6% accounted for half of all reported incidents. These are schools with predominantly black student populations.

It's not only assaults on teachers but cursing and disorderly conduct that are the standard fare in so many predominantly black schools.

Here are questions that might be asked of de Blasio and others who want to "fix the diversity problem" at New York's specialized schools: What has the triumph of egalitarian and diversity principles done for the rest of New York's school system? Are their academic achievement scores better than students at New York's specialized schools?

The most important question for black parents: What has been allowed to happen to cripple black academic excellence?

This is a prime example of the majority attempting to tell the minority how to feel and what their problem is, as if you have any frame of reference beyond the fraudulent talking points of your right wing media. It also illustrates the primary tenant of conservatism, the wish to conserve everything and anything for yourselves. It's selfishness plain and simple. You think we're always trying to take something from you, but I didn't ask you for $#*t.

@jagernutt: Ohhhh a minstrel show, I thought that went out as form of entertainment before Vaudeville. Leave it to conservatives to resurrect it as fake news.

The rise of these graham crackers like Tyrone Magnus, the Hodge Twins and this dude is so amusing to me. They've found a way to make racism work for them by playing the "good" darkie always on massa's side. If this were the 1850's they'd be the slave snitching about revolts and runaways just to get a few extra scraps from the table. They all lift weights, so that plays to some white guys who want to live vicariously through a big black buck they think is funny or cool, likes what they like, gets all the women and can say "nigga" whenever they want. It's a big brother/bodyguard complex that entrances geeks, gamers and comic book fans. It's also fake progression, they're admired by people who are okay with colored folks as long as they agree with them politically. Hate for sjw's trumps hate for anything else, so they've carved out a lane for themselves among nerds, out of view of most African-Americans that would challenge them if they knew of their existence. Meanwhile they're racking up views, likes, comments and youtube checks with limited to no interference. Though extremely selfish and deplorable, it's a profitable hustle and you're falling for it.

@archizooom: this is much better. Thanks.

I'm actually getting to the shoulder plates but the sleeves are hideous

They look like the sleeves on a really ugly sweater, I'm getting Cassie's Christmas sweater vibes.

Nope, still don't like it. Those sleeves are terrible, it would be better without them.

I appreciate the bird on her chest and how the shoulder details are it's wings but I hate the mesh parts. They make it look as if it were designed without them and they put gold long johns under all the rest.

Overall it's not Wonder Woman-like enough. There are a lot of missed opportunities to add double-W's, intertwined with the bird is one and her waist is another.

Judging from this image it's a fail. It's like they're overcompensating for the first movie not being gay enough, by making the second one as glitzy and shiny as a float in the Las Vegas Pride parade.

@dshipp17: The current run is touching political and social themes. And i think that is good, because whatever you like it or not. Wonder Woman as a character is like a sjw in a way. Her character since day one included messages about equality, injustice, freedom, etc.

No, she or the writers going back to Azz have been trying to cater to a fan base or attract a certain type of fan base; that's not about getting into political themes; I think my last post was a little bit misunderstood.

No you're wrong. Azzarello was an attempt at attracting straight white males to Wonder Woman's title by avoiding progressive political themes, introducing traditional patriarchal elements, sullying the Amazons and flooding the book with men they could relate to. It worked, but at the same time it angered and alienated Wonder Woman's core fan base which mostly consists of liberals.

DC reversed this by rehiring Greg Rucka and allowing him to shift the book back to it's liberal roots. Then they hedged their bet by mandating James Robinson write a run completely about patriarchy where the focus was on Wonder Woman's relationships with her newly created brother, absentee father and Darkseid.

When that failed to please Wonder Woman fans DC announced a woman writer known for her progressive political leanings would take over the title and that's where we are now. I feel if G. Willow Wilson doesn't catch on and sway fans DC will swing the pendulum in the other direction and piss most of us off again.
