If nothing else -- and I mean nothing else -- get the first volume. It contains not only the first 4 issues of the JLElite mini, but also Action Comics #775, widely regarded as one of the most compelling and well-written single issues to be released in our time.
I know that I'm very much in the minority here, but being a big Joe Kelly JLA fan, and one of the few who loved his second take on the Elite, this is pretty cool. It's certainly taken long enough.

It was probably in jest. Johns jokes around a lot. Like I said though, it's not an unreasonable panel. I get that he's Batman, but Hal, even though he's my least favorite Lantern, has been declared as the greatest one ever.
Well, it's not like there's any debate about who would win in a fight. I mean, Christ. He's a Green Lantern, it's not called the most powerful weapon in the Universe for shits and giggles.
